I've just repaired a 1963 cadillac police car.

You're Sizzlers have a bigger battery that goes in a different direction than mine. Tried to get them going with new battery but had sane issue with contact as you. Eventually got one going but its like the motor doesn't go very fast.

I had that same one if I remember correctly with the engine added it could pop a wheely but the batteries had to be brand new not saved in the drawer over yrs fresh out the package new you go backwards and while going backwards you hit forward real quick

I tend to get 99% of all my old Sizzlers to fire up running at TOP speed.. If all the contacts are on the chassis..I can clean them and get them to Sizzler up .I been doing this for 40 years. When I was a kid and they stopped running, I had a slight challenge.. Because I didn't have replaceable batteries .

I did that same repair yesterday after soaking the metal parts in lime/calcium/Rust remover. That contact point failing is the most common thing I run into
