Instead of an aca p 10 it's an asc p 10
Epic recording!!
Someone seriously replace that thing it has issues at the start
Predecessor to RE-1600
12/14
1971 model?
Nice catch of those pac man schemes
sounds like a model 5 but the rotator is straight up a whelen
sound like modulator or siratone
I’m sure most of you know by now but this same siren has been refurbished and is now in Cumberland Wisconsin.
yup! recorded it a few weeks ago
@@minnesotaoutdoorwarningsirens cool!
Sound by b&N mobile die
I live in that city and sometimes that can be annoying
500: it's SO hard for me to rotate
Sounds like a Thunderbolt and doubles as a snowblower, that would be cool to use on my driveway in winter!🤣🤣❗
Ex - Sauk Rapids
I live in evansville indiana and we have these sirens they go off for severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings
No one would ever know that this one was refurbished and moved...
I do and it moved to Cumberland
Federal signal 500
You can hear whelen siren ambiance
aren't these one of the small little sirens?
Sounds like it has an ESC-2030, judging by the 560 Hz peak and long wind-up.
Looks like the rotator is broken
It sounds like an Analog Whelen when it winds down.
You should still upload the video from your backup camera if you still have it
Is this the only mechanical siren in the town?
To my knowledge yes, been down here a few times and I believe the only other things they have are whelens
@@wigwagstudios2474 I was actually at Mora recently, and this Darley Champion did seem like the only mechanical siren while the rest were Whelens. That's why I was curious. It's definitely an interesting system! Strange, but fascinating. It's kind of sad at the same time though, the lonely Darley Champion.
I don’t expect ‘er to get replaced any- maybe I shouldn’t jinx myself
@@wigwagstudios2474 Oof, yeah, hopefully it hangs in there a little while longer lol. It's not sick or anything! But it is the only siren there left that I don't believe to be battery backup. (well obviously) So unless it has a generator or something, the only sirens to go off during an outage would be the Whelens, but it's only that one siren! I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, all the other sirens are backup and the city of Mora doesn't seem to mind it so far. Do you know if all the Whelens there replaced older sirens? Or were they added in? I don't know why I'm asking this, I mean there obviously had to be sirens there before them, I was just wondering, because maybe they were added in, I'm not sure, probably a mix.
@tarantula_kid701 I think there is more than one Whelen actually, maybe one was added recently? When I was there, I saw at least 3 Whelens. The solar powered Whelen not far from the Darley, about a block down and can be seen when entering the town. Then there's one near the high school and I saw another one, I can't remember the specific area, but it's somewhere in the downtown area not far from the movie theater. I'm terrible at explaining locations, but that's three so far that I saw personally, I don't know if there's anymore Whelen related sirens after that, but that would be interesting if there is a FS 2001 somewhere close or in the town too aswell! I've also been to Milaca. The sirens there are quite interesting! There's three ACA Screamers on the main downtown water tower and not far from them, there's also an FS 2001. I'm not sure whether or not there's any more sirens in that town after that. Some believe there's a Model 2 on the top of the water tower aswell, but it is believed by others as just likely apart of the water tower itself so that remains a rumor. Those are two towns I was at recently anyway, I'm not exactly sure how many sirens in total is in Mora, how many Whelens or 2001s or what type of siren in those series they are. I'd like to find out at some point how many they have, it sounds like there's only one Darley Champion, I'm not sure after that, but so far I saw three Whelens, unfortunately I didn't get to see the 2001, I didn't see it anywhere in the areas of Mora I was in but that doesn't mean that it isn't there, just haven't found it yet.
I kind of sounds like a electronic Federal Signal 2001 130
So the story of this siren is place of origin is unsure you might have to check with the city but in 2012 after St. Cloud and Waite Park had got rid of their Thunderbolt this was bought and placed on the outskirts of Waite Park not sure why but this thing is a beauty...
the vortexes got kicked in the ass lol
The rotator was fixed on this siren.
Plot twist: aca electronic sirens are the same shape and has the same sound but duel toned.
Dual tone 12/15 ports
Belt slipping moment
u dumie you should’ve recorded the 10/12 ACA Allertor
I hear 10/12 allertor
The T128 mixing the AR-1600 really sounds like a P50.
I do believe this exact AL-4000 is currently in the WSS yard. Unfortunately, it is in extremely rough condition and someone a while back took the main control board out of the panel. Edit 11/29/23: I now own this siren. It's straight up missing one of the arrays and three of the six remaining horns are smashed, along with one frame of an array.
It really suits the place where it's in bc get it "white lake" and it's spewing out snow! Hehe
Is it just me or does that look like a damper
Looks like it.
This is not a 3000
I expected this to have an analog controller lmao. Still sounds good!
!!!UPDATE!!! This siren has been removed.
Rest in peace 500:( u will be missed:(
Uh, no it has not.
They better fix this siren soon. I hate reverse wired bolts. They are so quiet.
I love reverse wired thunderbolts. They sound so pretty and girly 💕🤗🫂
5/4 port thunderbolt
That reflector seems useless though and doesn’t seem to make much difference
I hear this siren this restored and installed in Cumberland WI now
Was this a prototype model ?
No, just an early AL-4000.
This same day didn’t you guys see two or three 3016’s hanging of a water tower? Where was that?
What would a reverse wired blower and chopper sound like?
This
Do you know if this is still active?
it aint. oak ridge removed all the alertronics this year.
Hey I'm getting one of those from Ohio nevada! It's really rusty but I'll clean it up and get it running again !
