this ain't just Pete Townsend this the damn who !
Love Pete's dance
That sny shit he says at the end just tops it off. Most hatable character in season five.
THERE IS A SCOTT TEMPLETON AT EVERY JOB!!
Only William H. Macy in Fargo played a bigger milquetoast fuQen weasel than this douche
It's a great song but it's definitely not The Who. What was Keith thinking in heaven?
Go Sonny, go... :D
"It may not look like the old Who, it may not sound like the old Who. But, we have the cheek, the unmitigated gall to call it.... The Who! Thank you." - Pete Townshend at the end of this show.
❤
❤ Love 80’s Pete
John's facial expression is easy to understand
Pete's crossdressing thing back then wouldve been the THANG today
This is basically how fake news are made. Notice How it doesn't come from an incel in a basement or something like that, no, it came from a 'professional' hired by a big time papel. The Wire was ahead of it's time.
It's one of many ways it can be made.
Him, Ziggy, and Fruit were the Holy Trinity of dislikable characters on The Wire
Scott is the Kennard of journalism.
Don't forget about Namond's mom and the guy who kept robbing bubbles
Great tune well done Pete ♥️
What?
This scene right here made Scott my hero, didn't think he'd actually prevail. 🙂
Genial! Greetings from Germany!
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS SONG FROM MIAMI VICE ? I STILL DO !
I think I dislike Scott Templeton more than I dislike Marlo and his crew. Scott is the worst.
Veterans stadium, field B. Mid floor seating. Thank you Dad for the tickets and my first rock experience! They played for three and a half hours! I remember felling John's base in my lower back. After the show my ears were ringing!
John Entwistle is playing that bass!!
The presentation of this song would have benefited from a rockabilly stand up drummer like Davie Duncan from the Shakin Pyramids.
I’ve always loved this song.. being an amateur drummer myself you can’t imagine how much stamina it took to play this song!! Special shout out to the bass player who was thumping that shit from start to finish.. and let’s not forget the trombone player who jazzy solo was spot on…
I want to know who is the man who is merely clapping, albeit very well.
Just how much does that job pay?
It looks like Roger Daltry, Pete's bandmate in Who.
Pete forever
Gus’ radar goes off for the first time regarding Scott. Comes full circle when Norice finally tells Gus that quote is complete bullshit.
Went off when he made up quotes on opening day
It bothers me that he got away with it all and won a Pulitzer.
Scott Templeton is a fiction writer
Scott was so dislikeable….
The Wire excels at (amongst many other things) showing how an organization/system is corrupt even though most of its members are trying to act morally but fails because a few bad actors inside it are covered for by bosses who are under pressure to show statistical progress that is detached from real progress. It applies to police, drug dealers, schools, newspapers, addiction service.
The limits of liberal society.
don't forget banking, airlines, military, etc
I saw this entire concert live on Pay per View, and wonder if it is out on DVD? I used to have the videotape... Fantastic Show. Elton. Idol. Simon Phillips. Phil Collins. No Tina Turner though, but what's her name was amazing too.
Patty LaBelle?
I'm surprised (and somewhat annoyed) Gus didnt call Nerese to verify this and then burn Scott
This was at the beginning of the season. Gus don't know for sure what p.o.s. Scott is yet.
Everytime Gus tried to air Scott out, the plantation overseers- I mean higher-ups squashed it in favor of Caucasian- I mean Templeton's side of the story
@@youknowwhoyouare2269 They did it because newspapers were (and are) dying, and Scott's sensationalism sold papers very well. But sure, make this about race.
@@youknowwhoyouare2269 Are you implying that Managing Editor Thomas Klebanow and Executive Editor James Whiting are both racists as depicted in The Wire ? I agree with the other commenter that Scott sold papers plain and simple. All the rules and integrity came second.
@@C00kiesAplenty they weren't dying. they were still profitable, yet they decided to downsize. it's called greed
He wanted it his way, when actually it was the other way.
You GOT to do it the other way...
Don't forget everything happened in The Wire has consequences. If I remember it right, this piece on the paper pretty much cost Cedric Daniels job! Especially because his "quote"!
No, it didn't. It actually gave Cedric more spotlight and he became commissioner after the Marlo arrests. The only thing that "cost" Cedric his job was his integrity and his shady past.
This f’ing Templeton is more creative than Spielberg. Wait…wrong show. Damn you Borko!
Nice sopranos reference!
Again with the Quote?!!!
@@jerryx3253 agreed. That quote never had the making of a varsity athlete.
🤣🤣🤣
Scott couldn't lie straight in bed
People like “Scott Templeton” are now in control of The NY Times and the Washington Post.
Scott would be great on FOxNews
Screw fox. He could be at cnn, msnbc, ny times. That way he can make shit up and avoid being called a republican lol
The jokes y'all tell are wrapped in so much pain, it's always a pleasure to see one of you leaking over the media @@DreadPages
Oh yeah
Total scum bag
The problem with the world right now is it’s full of Scotts and all of the Gus have been neutered
Meh. They don't even report. Now days it's just opinion.
real journalism is pretty much dead at this point.
I like how nearly all the comments here are along the lines of "This is super prescient, 'cus now all the news is fake news". As though dishonesty in the media is a new concept that just started to happen recently rather than one which they just happen to have recently become aware of. Or more accurately, a concept which has been used to leverage folks into fortified "brands", "Oh, I can't consume news from those folks, don't you know? they're part of a secret cabal trying to control our brainwaves, I can only go to one source for all my information!". I also really enjoy how incurious everyone seems to be about the problems in journalism outlined by the show. "tHis Is WhY jOUrNaLisM iS fAiLinG! fAkE nEws!" Like, did you even watch the fucking show? The character is motivated against serving the public, and the institution is motivated against fixing (or even finding the problem). this is a symptom of a larger problem, not a cause. What is wrong with you people?
What do you expect from common scum? This is a UA-cam comment section not a private forum. You get public-level discourse here. If you want better fuck off back to your university. Go sit in a circle with a bunch of other unemployed drug addicts and postulate on “the larger problem” if you want, nobody is interested
Svott would fit in great with today's "journalists".
That moment when you realize there has always been a degree of dishonesty in journalism
@@JudgeDreddMegaCityOne a degree yes, but today's standard of journalism is at an all-time low.
This guy must work at CNN now.
Probably because he just got fired from Fox News
@@Polostar79 Imagine having to defend CNN…
Imagine defending fox though Yikes 😬😬@@tudor9218
@@youknowwhoyouare2269 the only person mentioning Fox was the same one that defended CNN. Take it up with him.
It's in my notes Gus!
It's empty...
Cheaters ruin everything, but he’s qualified to take Don Lemon’s job!
dumb
@H editing a joke is never a good look Idc how funny it could be, it just kills everything for me 🚮
Also Simon Phillips on drums during this 1989 US tour of The Who.
