Oh my gosh, this reminds me of everything we did in London and now I want to go back! the Harry Potter studio was fabulous! And we loved the Roman Wall! So so great! Glad you had a wonderful time!
Thanks! the HP stuff was amazing and so overwhelming at the same time...just seeing EVERYTHING was crazy. I could have sat by the Roman ruins all day and just marvelled at the history

Smooth sailing...sort of. I found out how much I am susceptible to sea sickness :-P
@thehikingstitcher I was in The Navy and got sea sick every time we for underway for the first few days. But then again, I'm the ships were flat bottomed boats.
Just found you last month. I hike and I stitch! I used to live in Virginia - 35+ years ago. I was in the Manassas/Haymarket area and worked in Fairfax. I'm now a high school English teacher living in northern CA. I follow hikers on the PCT and just started following hikers on the AT. I'm too old to thru-hike, but still love the outdoors and happy to be a trail angel when someone needs a ride. I'm near the Tahoe area of the PCT. My taste in stitching is very similar to yours. I enjoyed your video and will keep watching.
@@SylviaW2022 aw thank you!! I actually am in culpeper so now too far. I am also a HS English teacher (or was before I left to pursue other things). I would love to get out west and put some miles in on the PCT. I have been on some of the Tahoe rim Trail and the Western States trail. I live very close to the AT in Shenandoah so I’m there much of the time! Keep in touch!!!

Ugh! I just finished my prefect badge on the weekend...stitched it as charted not even thinking to change it to Ravenclaw colours (and no, I will not be frogging it.) Congrats on your individual win Erin, those of us from Frogwarts know how much work you had to do to earn the honour...but sorry that in the end the weekend was less than positive for you. I spent a large part of my time with my team - who are all very supportive - so I luckily didn't see any of the bullying, but I too am considering if I compete next year since due to change in job, I don't think I'll be able to do all 4 days and don't want to "drag my team down"...which as you said and as I know, should not be a reason to quit.

@@hvpta0813 hey Michelle! Right not stitch con isn’t in the 2025 budget but I will be at steel city stitchers and camp black needle. Maybe 2026 for stitch con. It was a blast but it’s not cheap

I'm sorry to hear that you came home from your Camp with covid, but I hope that you feel fully recovered soon. I've had covid twice in 2021 and 2022 and the second time was worse than the first time. Am glad you feel like doing some stitching. Take good care and look after yourself 🙂

Congrats on meeting your huge Frogwarts goals! Really appreciated hearing your perspective on some of the aspects of competition, every day we have to choose what to prioritize and especially in a virtual retreat no one should feel judged for having competing priorities! 😊
@@wildewoman_crafts yes! I realize I made some sacrifices in order to meet my goals. But to hear of other stitchers putting others down for not doing everything or having other stitchers feel that they are letting ppl down because they are putting other things before Frogwarts made me sad.
Not competing this year was a totally different experience. It was strange to not be in prepping mode the week leading up to it. And I had actually done one of the stash dives on Saturday just for my personal benefit to see how many I could get, and while I missed the excitement, I was equally thrilled to not feel the absolute knock down drag out pressure. And having fielded many of the comments from people who felt out of place from others, it was discouraging. I cannot tell you how many times I had to stress the importance of “this/that is not what Frogwarts is all about and I’m sorry you’re feeling this way” to people and it just killed me. Frogwarts has been and will always be a happy place for me. I’ve been with you since year 1, and, like you, will forever cherish each and every friendship I’ve made through it.
@@TheRedneckBifocalStitcher hanging with you all is my favorite part of the weekend. I know I put a lot of pressure on myself to do as much as I could…and I didn’t like it. Especially when other pressure and competition hurt my friends. Ps can’t wait to give you a big hug at camp!
Erin- great comments and insight to Frogwarts. I set a personal goal of points for myself and just try to increase each year or base my points what I am able to participate in. I do enjoy the competition of it but it’s just mainly with myself. My favorite thing was my chats with my class. I got to know some great people this year. Congrats on your hard work and win. Where do you live in Virginia? I grew up in Richmond and my parents now live in the Roanoke area.
@@michelledebardeleben64 I’m in culpeper! Yeah I think this year going into it with the goal of doing ALL the things kind of broke me but also helped me see the issues with that. Are you coming to camp?

@@thehikingstitcher I’m not going to camp. Maybe next year. I had already signed up for Chantelle’s 141 pep rally in Michigan in September so that’s my fall retreat.

The Witcher is a show on netflix. I think it is a book series. I put it on to clean house😂. Ive seen it before so don't have to actually watch it but like listening to it
