When I heard Amuro's speech with which he tries to distract Char, I thought he sounded like a natural conservative to Char's revolutionary. Char almost goes from being the Red Comet to just being a "Red". He even gets serenaded by the downtrodden masses with an accordion! And they have a lot to complain about, as it's emphasised in the film that the Federation simply "governs" the colonies from Lhasa. Putting myself in their shoes, I can imagine they would get frustrated to the point they'd be happy to see a large object dropped on that place. As I'm sure many people are walking around today quietly hoping that someone else will do something extreme. Unfortunately guys like Char exploit their sentiments easily, as history has shown countless times. For Amuro, I don't mean conservative as in some partisan hack, but just at a fundamental philosophical level. He even specifically mentions the danger of revolutionary intellectuals. The system may be corrupt, there may be an oppressed class of people that need to be enfranchised, and it may be necessary for humanity to ascend to the next level, but you don't have a right to commit genocide just to accelerate that development for something that's really all just in your head canon. It's a pretty big character development for Amuro, when in 0079, he doesn't really know what he's fighting for, and he's mainly pissed off at his situation and rightly paranoid that the Federation is just using the White Base as a decoy. Whereas Char, for reasons good or bad, kind of descends into the Zabis that he once wanted to kill, but with an intellectual veneer. A demagogue of which there have been many in history, although at least he kept his enemy alive as a plan B in case it turned out his ideas were wrong.

Although not in these decades i think we never know what happens in the late uc because gundam series ge his turn into early uc and spinn offs they doesn't care about the late uc atleast for now it is very possible that the sad ending of victory is always immortal and it is the end of gundam uc for real . Because we need a good late uc story that includes less tragedy and a hope but we get a dozen of early one year or unicorn content. For now ots the for us to accept that victory ending was the true ending for uc century.😢

Leave it to anime fans, and Gundam fans most importantly, to consider the psychotic genocidal sociopath a hero with a rightful cause. Char's so fucking cool though, god damn.

When I watched ZZ for the first time, I had no clue what the heck I was watching, I really wanted it to end and it seemed like a comedy to me, but holding in my frustration, I watched the entirety of it and I grew to like it in the end. I rewatched ZZ as a whole shortly after even and I do truly enjoy watching ZZ. I watched it right after Z so I had similar reaction as others as I wasn't used to it being so comedic, as I watched also Iron Blooded Orphans, and Seed which were also pretty dramatic before ZZ.

Has Harmony Gold gone back to cock-blocking absolutely everything they stole to make Robotech? I hear ALL the Macross series and movies are on Disney+, but it's blocked in the West. I tried using a VPN with a Tokyo endpoint to log into Disney+ but I couldn't even get DIsney+ to load into Firefox while I had my IP endpoint set to Tokyo.

i really like macross delta when it came out, and because of that, i think the movies did them dirty. Especially the fact that they completely erased mirage's romance part and making an actual child came out of freyja, but still not making hayate and mirage a thing

The Origin is literally what a remake is. Just because each episode isn't told exactly the same way doesn't disqualify the Origin from being a remake. How the low IQ Oldtype with Moviemaker over here didn't understand that before making a whole video and thinking there was a conversation here is wild.

Turn A is a great anime. Definitely a different take on Gundam and a cautionary tale of where the people of the UC seem to be going. I don't think it is flawless. The show has some issues that may annoy some viewers. The Moon people really don't come off as much of a threat for the majority of the series. And there are some ideas that go nowhere like the Loran/Laura thing which I bet was reduced because of corporate censorship. I love the idea that it is the far future of the Universal Century, but I completely reject the idea that it is supposed to be the future of all the timelines combined. It really doesn't make any logical sense considering how different the various timelines are. I do wish Bandai/Sunrise would do more with the Turn A timeline. There is a story thread they can build on. During the Dark History reveal scene, there is a blink-and-you-miss-it mention that some space colonies were converted into generation ships and departed into deep space. A series set on one of those generation ships could be very interesting.

My first gundam was iron blooded orphans season 1 on adult swim and I loved it. Than they promoted gundam unicorn and I was interested since I thought it was gonna be another battle with bad ass robots. I didn't like the name but I found the dub movies online and watched it. From that moment on I discovered a story that teenage me loved. I stood up watching it and even tried to finish it at school but once I did I loved it. I can proudly say this is my favorite gundam series and my favorite gundam design. I even went and watched all of the universal century till unicorn. Than when narrative movie came out I saw it and cried remembering the best parts of unicorn and how the movie was great sequel to it. The time travel and the scene of them blocking the laser made me cry out of happiness. It truly showed me that even when faced with the grim truth, will power can still give birth to a bright and hopefully future to those who try and change

I do think that perhaps it could be Lady M for Misa Hayase or even Minmay.. but it could also be a unifying acronym for their partnership.. Seeing how Misa’s strategic and military intellect combined together with Minmay’s knowledge of how songs can enhance fighting prowess, can be a very formidable force… and I feel Megaroad-01 existence in the time-fold leads to so many possibilities like in the movie Interstellar… where time is no longer a factor.. perhaps that is why Bandai released a Hi-Metal R toy of Roy Fokker’s VF-4G Lightning III… even though he has supposedly already passed away… it could be Megaroad-01 has crossed space and dimensions to an alternate universe where Roy Fokker had never died and continues to be a wonderful ace pilot.. I love Macross right from the very beginning… Macross Forever ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

I miss the days were Macross was militaristic like Top Gun, never was a big fan on the new ones that emphasizes on Magical songs and concerts

No guitar playing mecha pilots and band (Macross 7). No little girls singing and dancing around a mecha in flight and battle (Macross Delta). A nod to the original Macross and some fan service, great music playing an important role on STAGE and BROADCASt and not inside mecha, and those mecha were awesome. Macross Frontier is everything I wanted in a Macross series.

i loved macross 2, the whole war journalist angle blew my child mind. it was my first example media-controlled messaging. silvie gena was a badass, loved the hot-headed pilot ace being gender flipped. the emulator songs were haunting, instead of inspiring heroism in your allies and confusion in enemy ranks these emulators songs inspired suicidal tendencies in allies and fear in your enemies. the character feff is an unrated villain his design as well as his mechs designs were awesome.

While I really liked the movie, I love your alternative version. That said the narrative Gundam is an excellent design and in no way a reused mould.

And, music by Yoko Kanno seals the deal.
