The Kabolite is very reliable. The Lesu requires a lot of maintenance and repairs. It always leaks oil and I can't reach the screws in the metal piping to stop all the leaks. The covers are on correctly. I looked in the assembly manual and that's how they recommend installing them. Weird!

The replacement kit they sent me to replace the gears on both rear drives have fixed the problem. The main sun gear is a lot bigger. Since I have installed this kit I haven't had any more problems with the drives. The only continuous problem I have is the tiny 2 mm E-clips popping off the track pins holding the links together. I always have to replace some after playing for 3-4 hours. I have to say this is an awesome machine. I rarely play with any of my other excavators because this one is so much better it's in another league!

@RCconstructionJP Ooooh you have reignited my desire for this machine in that single message. I love the final drive design over other models for it's realism so was gutted to see you'd had problems but jf they have been resolved then that makes me excited again! I own a full size Volvo EC140B but it's not enough i need my 360 operating fix even when I'm in the house😁

@@RCconstructionJP Yes the mechanical work is no issue and it's very reliable in that sense but I'm struggling with the electrical side of things! I have an intermittent can bus communication issue which is taking lots of figuring out! Refusing to give up just yet however!

@ If I leave my excavator outside in the cold over night it moves very slow the next day. Does your real excavator move slowly if it's cold outside?

Hey Benrie, I like the three arm hydraulic kit a lot. It gives me the option of digging close to the excavator or reaching far out to dig at a distance. The hydraulics and electronics are great. Best of all it's a drop in assembly with very little modification needed. I would recommend also buying the upgraded slew ring to remove the excess play in the system. If you contact them they will send you another base quickly for one year. Make sure you watch the video I made two days ago with a better solution. It shows as a link at the end of this video.

You may have to uninstall it and install it again.

@ like them the same but the JDM is very powerful. Rips anything out the ground. I feel like it’s very underrated. It’s not pretty but it digs.

I had this problem yesterday. I had the nozzles pushed too far in my nose and it blocked the flow. I pulled it back a little bit and the suction began again. You may also try some different size nose pillows for a better fit.

It was worth it to me. I didn't use this one any more because I bought two other hydraulic excavators. I like this conversion because everything was one assembly that I bolted in. Very easy to do. The model came with a full set of Kobelco and Aoue decals with enough to fill the machine twice for each label.

No, this conversion kit came as one complete assembly. Since the original had two arms and this one has three arms, the hydraulic cylinders wouldn't fit and the big arm would not mount in the base. It would be better to buy a two arm upgrade kit and build the hydraulics piece by piece if that's what you want. I looked at the two arm kits and did not think they were as good.

I'm glad you're not having any problems. Make sure you watch the video with the servo end point adjustments. I still have to replace the track E clips periodically. But the black ones stay on longer than the original ones. ua-cam.com/video/Lyd-R6Fs_64/v-deo.html

I would never pay for a Double EE excavator again. Their electronics are crap. I had this excavator sitting around for a couple years and saw an upgrade that looked fun to do with something different. The three arms work well and I like using it.

This was the only kit I found that didn't use Double E components. The components is this excavator were the worst and I had to replace all of them.

I'm not sure how long they will last in sand. I've taken it to the beach three times. I don't see any wear or stress on the tracks from sand so far.

I needed the ripper to breakup the dirt in my lawn. Have you had any problems with your SK500?
