I dont hunt and asume this is another huntung type climb video..but as a arborist,,,why dont you hunters just throw a throwball line up and over the tree pull a climb threw it and tie it off.then walk rope walk or assend tree in several easy methods then set your step or seat or whatever setup you use at highest final point and then you have a HIGH TIE IN SAFE ,for the rest of time or hunt ..with zero steps or worries..and you can come down in blink of eye if needed..it would be so much better and about 3 dozen methods with endless modifications to suit the situation..but you would have a rated arborist rope from 10mm or up even a 9 would be ok..as life line you can swing around flip upside dpwn ..or just sit there hunting ..the hunting climb methods i cannot understand..you could even wear small rock or arborist saddles .haveing side d rings is crucial as well plus you would have lifeline with multiple tie in points .if wanted to switch positions..i would rather sit in my monkey beaver saddle hunting then the things i see guys useing??? Again not hunter but definitely know trees ..its all very strange to me..i have seen few guys do arborist methods but they skip out on all the comfort parts?
Metal biner on metal stepp THATS a natural sound…😮 Camming the stepp over….knock!.. another natural sound. Repeat 5 times…. I actually bought their koolaid Narrow tiny for 1 boot let alone 2. None of the videos are demonstrated in low light cold temps or precip in hunting clothing. Spend your money on sticks
Great video. Thanks. I was 1 sticking with a 12 inch stick with a OOAL platform and a 4 step aider. Now, going to 3 step Helium with Helium platform and 1 step aider. Makes sense not to have to fight with a multiple aider.
I’m a climbing tree stand guy (Lone Wolf Assault Combo) but I’m intrigued by the one stick method due to the extreme light weight and mobility. From the videos I’ve seen yours seems to be the least complicated method so far. Very impressed. Thanks for the time and effort in making this video! We’ll done!
This seems a bit dangerous as any upward lift at all would cause the step to camber up, unlocking it from the tree. Safety seems much more important than getting up the tree quicker. Plus the metal on metal doesn't seem ideal, may as well bust the climber back out with that kind of noise. Appreciate the info but I feel this is gonna cause some injuries unfortunately. Just my opinion.
Very good demonstration. Instead of the stick I use a lone wolf climbing seat. Go up faster have a nice size platform to stand on. Maybe a pound or two more but faster and more comfortable while up.
Works great. First time I tried it I realized its by far the easiest way to climb. And only having to carry one stick. Its all around the best way to climb and I'm a bigger guy saying that. Only thing is if using the muddy sticks (which I have) when you pull your rope out of the cam it makes a click, I'm going to try a beast stick with a button, we see how that works. Thanks for the video.
Sharing Mr. Skeptical’s concern. It appears that you have to be conscious of not lifting up on the step that that riggers belt carabiner is attached to. Other than that, I’ve seen videos where SH like being closer to the tree as they ascend. I’m brand new to steps and SH. I plan to use the WE perch and side-mounted steps as an extended platform. I making a reasonable assumption that when I reach that point I’m back in my tether.
Seems like a really great way to climb. Thank you for the tip. I was going to try the one step method this year with my new saddle and make a double-rung rope ladder hanging off the stick but I think you're right one aider seems like a better idea. It's lighter than a rope ladder made from a life line and not as much to go wrong. Thanks again.
Thank you for making this video. I used this method this year with a three step LW stick with out the aider and am very happy with the speed and efficiency to get to height. Your short film was very helpful. May modify a stick next year for an aider. I use a linesman's for getting around limbs which are quite common on the trees I hunt. Very simple to move tether/stick past, and not an issue with this method.
Chris do you prefer this method or the one steppin method in your other video? Thanks for the great videos! Waiting on my saddle, need to figure out my climbing method now
Very efficient. My question is what do you do if the tree has limbs on it, tie a linesman belt on temporarily? I would like to see a video ascending and descending with limbs.
Really like this style of climbing. Need to try this out seem very safe and a good lite weight for them really far hikes on some public lands. Thanks for sharing bro
Trying at a known safe location in the dark before going to the woods is key, but should be done with all gear setup that you would have while hunting.

Just the dumbest method out there.

Awesome video thanks for sharing. How many steps do you usually carry?
Outstanding. Thanks

Can you make the same video on a gnarly tree with lots of limbs?
Really nice technique. Very impressed with how simple and effective it is. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris, I like this method and you explained it really well.
Well done!

Read my observations. You are spot on and even missed other flaws. Bought em, gathering dust. Spend your money on sticks

How is he keeping that Sitdrag from falling???
My Stick is better than bacon.
Too much trouble for me. The muddy sticks are as heavy as 4 wild edge steps that can get you 20ft with a knaider and swaider a lot faster.
Best demonstration of 1 stickin I’ve seen yet
If that step comes undone, your gone!
Man I really appreciate you sharing that. Thank you.

Couldn't hear a word you said and my tablet is completely turned up...
Keeping climbing safe, thanks for sharing.

Where can I get this exact riggers belt?
This is the best way to get up the tree with the WE stepps BY FAR! Tried it in one of my oak trees and it worked great.
A lot of metal to metal noise! No thanks!
You could use stealth strips and eliminate the noise.
Really like this style of climbing. Need to try this out seem very safe and a good lite weight for them really far hikes on some public lands. Thanks for sharing bro
Very slick. Nice job!
My only concern with this style of climbing is trying to safely come down in the dark or set up in the dark
Trying at a known safe location in the dark before going to the woods is key, but should be done with all gear setup that you would have while hunting.
Repell
Nice !!!!
Great job explaining and very safe method. Although I would prefer to tie the stick to me somehow in case I dropped it
Awesome! How far apart are you getting your steps?
That is awesome! Going to try it with my kestrel!
Thanks for sharing. Nice work.
