Interesting enough the best version of this is on the Nintendo Switch, 2 player bloody palace mode is way to much fun(which isn't on other formats), and the OG dmc3: before special edition Virgil isn't playable, and as much as dmc2 is hated we would of never gotten bloody palace mode without it, which is now a staple of the series, if you like your difficulty Mr Belmont would love to see ya accomplish Dante must Die difficulty and there's harder difficulties beyond that, I also found it cool when your playing the campaign with Virgil and you do his doppelganger move the 2nd player can control his shadow, definitely odd the best version is on the Switch, it's awesome to hear your having a lot of fun with the game, I was so excited getting dmc3 on my PS2 back in the day after dmc2 was just ok, but I did like seeing seeing Dante's hair and clothing move around more compared to the first, and dmc3 was awesome tying in the story and making sense of the first, it was definitely ahead of its time in the era it came out on, I even went out of my way to get the manga books which has some awesome artwork in it, I've even got the dmc3 video soundtrack somewhere in my collectors cupboard, I still love the series and it has become my most replayed games with resident evil, and playing the OG devil may cry I can definitely see how the re4 early play test splintered into devil may cry series, I have alot of reverence for the series, and I'm not sure if I mentioned it was also the last game I played with my brother before I lost him, so the game has a lot of memories tied to it the sibling rivalry story is relatable, one obsessed power and the other not wanting a bar of it, I'm curious tho if those harder difficulty settings have piqued your interest, I always get this strange feeling of my brother's presence when I play dmc3, dang it I miss him, Ill see him again one day but until then I'm living a full life, the Ninja Theory DMC was definitely different for trying something different and boy o boy I've seen some absolutely godlike players make it look like a beautiful choreographed dance on its most punishing difficulty, I'll never in a million years have that type of skill but definitely impressive to watch, see ya on the next one, if not see ya in 2025 😎

I am a massive proponent of preservation, and lost media is a fantastic topic to take a deep dive into. If a game is made, but the hardware no longer exists to play it natively (particularly with old PC games), and the company that made it is no longer in business, do we let that software and the effort of those developers rot? Do we intentionally say, nah it doesn't deserve to be accessible anymore? What about titles, like you said, that were never translated into an accessible language? Do we let those go? Who decides that? Some of my best gaming memories are from games that were either never released outside of their country of origin (looking at you, Sailor Moon: Another Story) or from games that are no longer available due to hardware/development studio going under. And then on top of that, I feel like the Big Corporations don't consider the hidden value in emulation that you mentioned. For example, if another Sailor Moon RPG were released, because I played Another Story, I would be willing to buy the crap out of whatever that new RPG was. Exposure=profit. On top of that, hardware itself is becoming more and more limited as the inexorable march of time continues. Sure, it'd be great to buy a game and play it on original hardware, but if the remaining hardware is rare and many examples no longer function, what then? What of compatibility with current hardware? Did anyone consider that even if you do get X hard-to-obtain console, that it would be very difficult to near-impossible to be able to play it due to advances in things like TV connections?

I got stuck in the minera prison I got killed by the boss, back tracked to the village bought meats and stuff came back and beat the boss and died to those enemies so now I have to back track again. It's not hard but I'm level 8 and just lose to attrition.

Gosh i wish i could of watched this with you live, this game is incredible and not even 3hrs after launch this absolutely amazing doco called The Past present and Future of Soul Reaver came out, if you spot the chance to watch it, there the deep dive lore specialists but also gives you some history on it too, i must have watched that doco at least 5 times its an incredible watch its the NoClip team, those guys are awesome they know there shizzle and its just given me an even deeper love for this game, next time you cover the game look into your options and find photo mode and graphics toggle, you'll hopefully love this as much as me, now some levels have an incredible difference toggling between 1999 graphics mode and 2024 remastered mode, some are minor some major but those enemy designs wow! There is an incredible difference i dont think many will appreciate for face value, ive meticulously toggled and zoomed in on photo mode, and my giddy aunt those character designs are truly in depth seeing the difference between '99 and '24 graphic modes, that music and ambience is truly spectacular, i absolutely cant stop playing it, i did get lost maybe twice but after the memory muscle kicked in i had no llama drama's after that, oh the last few days have been the best gosh im exhausted now tho, ive kinda got a theory going on to seeing as half my prediction from last year has come true, the fans are legion and if there smart they'll remaster/remake Blood omen1 n 2 and Soul reaver 1 n 2 before they consider doing Defiance, and sure enough it happened, and i have the strangest sixth sense Defiance will be alot more than a remaster, i have a feeling the graphics will be a full overhaul with a new graphically superior game engine, gosh dang i hope thats true! Thats awesome to see how much fun your having with the game, that's heaps cool youve covered this i do enjoy your videos, i've played Alot of titles this year but this soul reaver collection is my top 5 games for this year but me n that game have history n ill never tire of its legacy just like the many legions of fans out there too. We, like you, are the legacy of Kain and it will span eons across time, its a truly timeless and unforgettable tale
