Fun Intentional Team!
Canada
Приєднався 12 кві 2012
This channel originally started off as just me shooting a few videos of myself or my family. Occasionally I throw in a video of me fixing something on my RV and even once my dishwasher (this dishwasher video has proven to be quite popular).
Now, I as I approach retirement I am going I am going to focus this channel onto the fun things that Tena and I are going to be doing together. Watch for a video where I go over the future direction of this channel.
But basically us old people aren't going to sit on our butts, we're going to go out and have fun and get FIT doing it! We're the FIT team.
Thanks, Glenn & Tena

We spent a week at the Fort Worden campground in Port Townsend. It's not the first time we've been there, but it's the first time we've recorded it in video. We hiked, biked, paddleboarded, collected sea glass, explored the history and just enjoyed the beach all around us.

In this video I walk through everything I am doing today to get my trailer ready for winter, usually just referred to as winterizing. The most important of course is preventing the pipes from freezing, but there are a few other things I do every year as well. Today I'm installing a Renogy DC to DC charger in my Cougar fifth wheel, and also running a charging wire directly from my RAM 3500 battery back through the truck and trailer. I forgot to mention in the video I ran a 16 gauge wire from the positive "in" terminal on the Renogy charger to the D ignition terminal. I've made another short video mentioning this and that's part 2, view it here: ua-ca...

Widgeon Slough / Creek Paddle
Переглядів 35Місяць тому
I went for a short paddle up Widgeon Slough (about 4km in, then back out) on a beautiful autumn day here near Vancouver. The launch spot is at the Grant Narrows boat launch near Pitt Meadows. If you go the full 5km in you get to the campsite and you can hike further from there to Widgeon Falls or Widgeon Lake.

Fifth wheel trailer landing gear remote control
Greetings from Seattle! I love the Port Townsend area. Looks like you both had a wonderful time!
Thanks we've been several times and we've always enjoyed it!
Hello. I enjoyed the tour around the old Cougar. We have almost the same model but a 2011 unit. Ours is also a rear kitchen. Really almost exactly like yours, but a different color scheme. We like it a lot. We are in a warm climate so we don't winterize here. I wanted to ask about your sliding cargo rack in the back. We have that too but have never used it. I'm thinking about using it for a few light weight things. Maybe a 3.5kw generator. Have you ever used yours, and if so what has your experience been with it? Thanks for sharing.
Yes we use the sliding rack a lot, and for it's intended purpose which is bikes. It's been great for us and we love it. It has a 200 lbs maximum which does limit some things. It came with the spare tire mounted to the back which added extra weight, which I'm not sure if I'm putting back on. I found out the hard way though that the rack can bounce around a lot on bumps and it actually threw one bike partly off and the bike tire hit the ground and was wrecked (otherwise bike was OK). I solved some of the bouncing by replacing the two pins that hold it in place when extended, with some automotive grade bolts and tightened them up. That locked it in from bouncing so much. Our winter here near Vancouver Canada is mostly rain but it does occasionally freeze on us. I have an Onan 2.8 generator mounted in the front storage bin with remote start. It has no gas tank and neither does the trailer so I have an boat's outboard motor fuel tank that I carry in my truck and connect when we're parked. Could not figure out how to safely have an onboard fuel tank. One day I'll shoot a video of that set up.
@@Noob_bc thanks for the reply. I got the tire off the bumper a long time ago and it rides in the storage under the queen bed. The generator I have in mind weighs about 110lbs, so I think it should be okay on the rack. Good idea on using bolts in the pin holes. I'll give that some thought. I also added some holes so that the bumper can slide less than the original 22". Should help some to minimize the bounce.
Thank you for this video! I ordered the part and fixed my dishwasher last night. I also had to get the clamp ring you used because I couldn’t figure out the one that comes with the part. Thank you for saving me a service call!
Thanks! Glad I was able to help, this video is different than the normal focus of my channel which is the outdoors, hiking & rv'ing. But I do like to figure out and fix things. Next time something breaks around the house I will video it as well.
Thanks for your video. I have a KDTM404KPS and not getting any codes but a very loud humming type noise when washing. Does this model have 2 pumps, a drain and a circulation or just one?
I'm not familiar with that model, sorry. Try going to www.appliancepartspros.com/ and putting in your model number. They have diagrams of all the parts. It's a great resource.
Kitchenaid disherwasher: not starting any cycle. I ran the diagnostics 1 2 3 thrice , all lights come on, close door .. nothing happens No blinking , no clean cycle running ?! Please help ty
That doesn't sound good. Unfortunately I am not a technician so the video is only my experience. It did however take several tries and at first I missed the blinking light (it's the only light visible on my machine when the door is closed). It's possible the control board / brain itself has failed but I hear that's not common.
Thank you! I couldn’t find the code chart anywhere but luckily I had the same 4-3 as you. Replaced the motor and badabing.
Great, good to hear.
Where you jack that and what was supporting your jack. I have to cut a 33 in back section on mine. Do I use a non rotted section 3 feet or so back to lift the slide
The slide typically has a metal frame that you should find as a jacking point, and even then I'd use some longish wood blocks on top of the jack. Underneath the jack I used a collection of 4x4 fence posts in a secure stack until my jack reached. And then when jacking, check closely to see that something isn't giving way. You can't lift the slide very much either, for mine I don't think I even got an inch...
@@Noob_bcmine doesn't have slide skis. Did you add those for support? I have 2012 5th wheel keystone cougar
@@rmstark1966 they aren't for support or to help with sliding the slide out. What they do is help prevent water incursion along the lower edge of the slide while extended.
Do you need permits to camp here? Looks beautiful!
Yes registration or reservations depending on which campsite. $5 per night per person. Go here: camping.bcparks.ca/
From the website link camping.bcparks.ca/ click on the backcountry tab.
Hiked the lightning lake loop at Mannings, heading back up there in the near future, nice vid
Thanks all of Manning Park is beautiful no matter where you go.
There's no way to tell if it's 3-4 or 4-3, no? Then you showed it flashing 7 times in a row. I've been trying to read their technicians error chart and it's hard to decipher even as a techie.
The cycle continues over and over (the flashing lights). There's a pause in between and then it starts again. There's also a pause between the two digits but it is a shorter pause. I had to watch it several times to be sure...

You got to see the falls ! 😂. We got a trickle compared to what it normally is. Good stuff !
Such a blast from the past! Post more!
Thanks. I was looking for a video to show me what I'd be letting myself in for, I've only ever done bicycle bearings, and I'm not a mechanic. This video just what I needed. Cheers.
Thanks, glad I could help. Leave yourself lots of time, for all 4 wheels on my trailer it took two afternoons over Easter weekend.
Thanks for the video, we’re inspired to visit. The wildflowers were beautiful.
I see that you had 2 sets of error codes. 4/3 and 7/1. I am getting the 7/1 code and wondering if it could be the pump?
If you have the documentation attached to the inside of the kick panel, you can look up the codes. If not let me know and I should be able to look it up.
I have a Whirlpool WDTA50SAHZ0, and this was by far the best guide that addressed the issue I was having. Especially appreciated the tutorial on diagnostic mode, as I too would've been uncomfortable shelling out the $$$ for the new pump without solid evidence that it would fix the issue.
I was really quite pleased with how the diagnostics worked on this dishwasher. Finicky pushing the buttons in that sequence, took me a few tries. Then I realized I had to close the door to get the diagnostics to start...
0:53 This video just saved me SO much frustration. I'm so happy i found this before ripping apart my dishwasher. Just running the diagnostic seemed to clear out whatever malfunction it thought it had. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hey! How did you find what pump to get? Ours is KDTE204ess4. Thank you for the video!
never mind - this pump will work. Thank you!
I went to www.appliancepartspros.com/ and put in the make and model of my dishwasher.
Thanks for the great video. My dishwasher was acting all weird and would not start a cycle, other lights would just randomly flash. I tried resetting it multiple times by leaving it unplugged overnight and pushing the start button, which has usually fixed things when the unit gets stuck. But this time around, the unit was not able to be reset to work, and I thought it was permanently broken. Running your diagnostic sequence suggested worked, and then after that the machine is now able to wash dishes again. So running this seems to clear out problems more than a reset is able to do. Thanks for showing me a hint to fix my dishwasher!
Great! glad that helped.
Does the white insulation wrap around the back of the dishwasher or is it only on the top and sides? Do you have the part # that it says on the green sticker? I am trying to find a replacement for mine, as the previous homeowner who installed this dishwasher removed the insulation
The insulation is only on the top and sides if I recall correctly and was one piece. I don't have the part number but if you go here: www.appliancepartspros.com/ you can put your model number in and search the parts list for your dishwasher.
So far I've watched 15 different videos and every model looks the same on the outside but all are different with the buttons.
What happens of diagnostic mode does not work ?
Pushing the buttons to get it into diagnostic mode is really quite finicky. It takes me multiple tries usually. If that doesn't work it's either not the right dishwasher (though it's worked that way a long time). Or the main logic board itself is dead. I don't know how to diagnose that one, sorry...
@@Noob_bc I think they might be referring to that fact that no errors are returned after entering diagnostic mode. That was the case for me and your suggestion to check power to the pump led me to believe it was indeed the pump.
Thanks so much for this video. I found that a bit of silicone grease on the rubber bits made reassembly much eaiser.
Yes great idea that would help a lot!
Lovely hike! Thinking of doing this one this summer. Thanks for the video!
Thanks! I've been training this winter and I'm planning on another harder Manning Park hike, this time Skyline 1 or 2 (or both) including a day trip over to Hozameen Mountain.
It would be nice if you put in description a link of where you got your pump from/part number and model# of your unit so people know they got the same.
Thanks! I'm quite new to this process so thanks for your suggestion. Will do that now.
