Drive it in the snow and you will learn how to downshift,lol. Nothing wrong with downshifting. I have a 94 4x4 on the original clutch.

Question please, are the lights on the bumper, fog lights NOT brake lights??
The lights on the underside of the front bumper are fog lights. The rear of the 1999-2004 Disco II's have a cluster on each side of the rear hatch for brake and turn signals, and the reverse lights are mounted on the face of the rear bumper (my ex had a 2001 Disco II, and I had a 1998 Disco I).
