We talk about working nightshift. She moved here from another part of Illinois. We talked about living in Chicago and its neighborhoods. We talked about the weather and the difference in managing snow from big cities to smaller towns. We talked about healthcare workers after Covid and during. Issues with staffing and pay of course. Then we got back to talking about working in healthcare. We talked about child patients versus adult patients, dealing with parents and the differences between patient types. We talked ab out preventative things a person can do to stay healthy. I then ask for a piece of medical knowledge that would benefit everyone to know.
Check it out!!!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Capitalism isn't exploiting you when you voluntarily participate in it. Your employer is not supposed to represent you, you work for them - not the other way around. You can thank capitalism for everything you own.

    • @johncervantes239

You're confusing commerce with capitalism. Commerce is the act of having and selling products, trading with other people and creating an economy. Capitalism is the structure of government that has corporations controlling the government for the purposes of extracting as much profit as possible while putting in as little as possible. It is inherently exploitative as a system

@@johncervantes239 "for the purposes of extracting as much profit as possible" not only is this false but it proves you are not arguing in good faith. 99% of all of the nice things you enjoy in your life today exist only as a result of capitalism encouraging people to be entrepreneurs and open business that suit the needs of the people, not the needs of the government. In a true capitalist system, your business does not survive if you do not offer goods to the public that they desire -- it is government intervention that has skewed it's effect. Without government intervention, capitalism will continue to be the sole driver for progress in the realm of science and technology to create the car, the phone, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the *anything you use today* was created because of capitalism. A person saw something that could be improved to make more money, and your life was made easier as a result of it.

@@johncervantes239 Except reality backs my position. I would love to hear why you believe you are correct, though. If you have justifications for your position, and can back them up with statistics. I'll start. Capitalism is responsible for bringing more people out of poverty than any other economic system in world history. Meanwhile Socialism/Marxism has put more people *into* poverty than they have taken out of it.
