I'm a whippet person (showing and coursing) writing from USA and visited Bulgaria last year, so I was delighted to find your videos 🎉❤ I searched the internet while in Bulgaria for whippets and wonder if I had stumbled on your website? You have such pretty dogs. I'm curious about your bloodlines and what the show/coursing life in Bulgaria. Maybe I'll move there 😅 Your comments on personality make me laugh out loud!

The first 12 months of a whippets life at home is manic.

My girl is super jealous of her little brother. We give her all the attention and mostly just cuddle her but she doesn’t like sharing her humans she groans every time she sees her little brother wake up and he is just so happy to see her. 😅

I found out today that what I rescued was a whippet! This video is so informative and has put me at my peace! Thank you I understand my dog more now

I used to have a greyhound and the drama is so real lol. If she stepped in between the couch cushions she'd scream like she'd been stabbed! She was also very afraid of thunder and fireworks. Her and my German shepherd got along fine but never really wrestled or played much. My German shepherd is much less dramatic, but she is more reactive to other dogs than our greyhound was.

😊I was pleasantly surprised… that your dog was under the blanket… even though I could take 1 dog to work with me … I think I’ll wait until I retire in three years and I’ve done my traveling and I will get to to help alleviate anxiety. I want a male and female and not necessarily puppies. We have whippet mixtures here that do pig hunting, but mine will just be for fun long walks. We have quite a few places that they can go off leash with that fenced in away from cars… mahalo nui loa … for your advice ( thanks) … you have lots of brown and Grindel. I prefer the grays and blacks with whites colors.

Good video. My last dog was a whippet and I would love to have another one or two but my physical health has deteriorated so much that I just can't give a dog a good live as it is. Maybe a senior dog at some point. It hurts that I can't but it's not fair to the dog.

@ShowPaws. My 7mo whippet boy hurt himself playing in the back yard and now my vet says he isn't allowed to run/jump for 2 weeks. It's day 2 and he is driving me crazy. What indoor activities do you suggest I try to burn some of his energy ⚡? HELP!

Just last week, I took both of my whippets to a live music event at my apartment complex. After eating, we sat down next to a group of people. My female Lily climbed into my lap and tucked her tail and legs underneath herself in my lap. My boy Lupin kept wondering around (as far as his leash would allow), engaging with everyone passing by. A couple next to me were petting both whippets and fawning over them. They joked about taking one home… to which I said, sure which one?! They said that they’d take Lily because she was so calm and demure, sitting in my lap. 😂 I blurted out that at home she’s the main instigator of drama. She’s the one always barking and nipping at Lupin to engage him in play. She’s the one who runs out on the deck, barking like a rabid dog whenever any other dog walks by. I explained that she was sitting like that in my lap because she was cold, not because she has a predilection for good behavior!

have had many whippets over the years...along with many other dogs. I come from a dog family and can say with a great amount of experience..whippet puppies are the WORST! just insane..One of my pups probably racked up many $1000 dollars of damage in the course of a few years. However, I also believe that sometimes the worst whippet puppies turn into the best whippet adults.

Ears inside out seems to be the preferred option 😂

My baby is 7mo now. He is absolutely a goblin. His favorite thing to do is bother other dogs until they chase him and then roll on his back and pretend to be innocent when they catch him.

There’s snow where we are. Six months is a perfect age to introduce a well-fitted coat. Jake doesn’t like his ears or feet getting wet, but as long as he’s in his coat, he’ll walk, run, play, and zoom outside, even in the wet stuff. Good luck!

Funny and true. My vet keeps trying to convince me that having males intact is a cancer risk. Do you believe that? I can't decide if I should neuter.

It's funny how the boys can be so fussy. I have a male that is just a mess. He's very sweet and everybody loves him. But I had to finally put him on prozac just to even be able to cope with day to day life. He has crippling anxiety where the tiniest things would make him go into hours of panting/shaking meltdowns. He's been better on that, but it's been hard to keep the med balanced.

Total Bull. We have a Whippet and we live in a very rural place surrounded by forestry and our Whippet often chases Hares, but I can just call him back and he'll always break off to chase, even if he's only a few yards behind the Hare.

I've got a dog that's part whippet. She's so graceful and gentle. Goes everywhere like my shadow. Demands cuddles & scratches from anyone around. Extremely opinionated. Her face! And omd, what a speed demon. Good thing she loves her bed, too.

I had thought my female 'tiger' whippet was extremely dominant, but your equating the females to female hyenas makes me feel less anxious that i caused her to be like this. She would literally face up to Auld Nick (the devil) and not back down. Getting her to tolerate other dogs is still a work in progress but one I'm more than happy to do.

After a whippet you won't want any.other dogs i love them dearly but you've got to be prepared for them brilliant x

I've been worried about the rainy season, my 6mo whippet absolutely hates being wet and I live where it rains 165 days a year. He is going to have to get used to peeing in the rain and I'm not looking forward to it.😅
