Yes we are flesh in moral bodies and we live in this world but are not of it. Our homes is not here but our home is in heaven. God is trying desperately to get our attention. If our lamps are empty we will not see the coming of Christ.

Thank you! I'm a Warrior Notes student (Kevin Zadai's school). And I've enjoyed listening to Bruce Allen for about a year. He's brought so much repentance to my walk with Jesus. Between both Dr Zadai and Dr Allen, I'm repenting left and right and learning to walk in strength and humility. Praise the Lord God Almighty! He is GOOD! Blessed be His name! When I used to feel anxious or have a panic attack I would tell myself out loud, “Right now everything is okay. I have air to breathe, I have food to eat, and a roof over my head. Right now, I’m okay”. (You need to say it out loud because your brain believes what you say.) I’d take slow deep breathes and relax my muscles. This would always calm me down. I realized several things: 1. Fear (future events appearing real) and anxiety happen when you’re worried about something negative happening in the future. 2. You can trick your brain. You know the difference between reality, your imagination, and a memory, but your brain doesn’t. It reacts to what it hears, sees, and detects through your bodily senses, including your breathing and muscles. That’s why if you see a scary movie, your heart beat might speed up, your muscles might tense up, and your breathing might become shallow. 3. There is a two way communication between your body and your brain. When you’re anxious, your brain sends out cortisol and adrenaline, your breathing becomes shallow, and your muscles tense up. By consciously slowing down your breathing and relaxing your muscles, your brain picks up those signals, think’s every must be okay now, and slows down or stops the flow of cortisol and adrenaline. I shared this method for self calming with my son’s friend who had frequent panic attacks and it also helped her. So I hope it also helps you or someone you know. Also, Roman 8:28 is true, “All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” No matter what happens it’s going to be okay. Even if bad things happen, God can bring some good out of it. Worst case scenario, you get sick and die, but if you’re a Christian, then you get to be with God, Jesus, and Holy Spirit in Heaven, which is our ultimate goal, so it’s all going to be okay. 😃
