MUST SEE Canada’s BEST Travel Tip: POINT PELEE
Canada’s BEST Travel TIP is unbelievable and unexpected. It’s a sandy, pebbly walk into Lake Erie inside Point Pelee National Park, Canada’s second smallest national park. As you enter the park you will be greeted with: Welcome. Bienvenue. Biindigewag Nwiijikenhag. Walk out to The Tip, it’s the southernmost point in mainland Canada-it’s a stunning natural gem. This is one of five national parks in Ontario. The word pelée is French for “bald,” which is a fitting name for the point that disappears into the lake.
We drove from Detroit across the Ambassador Bridge into Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to arrive at Point Pelee National Park. It’s not all about the landscape-the park holds a rich history. There are lots of amazing things to see and do including observation towers, serene beaches, wooded trails, lush wetlands, a historic cemetery, a 19th/20th century homestead, a trolly ride, long hikes, bike trails, a boardwalk stroll through a marsh, and canoe trails to several ponds. We hopped the free trolly ride to reach into #LakeErie and this great geographic LANDMARK known as The Tip. Find yourself below the 42nd parallel. What a unique geographic #landmark for nature enthusiast to experience. Discover this fun and unique national park on Lake Erie near Leamington, Ontario. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or just looking for your next adventure, this video will inspire you to discover the wonders of Canada’s southernmost point. #discoverontario
