75 Hard Got Me Started, But What's Next?
Only 6 more days left in the challenge! We just got a new dog, which will keep me accountable to stay active beyond the challenge. I'm quite fatigued from non-stop content creation for the past almost 70 days, so I'll need to figure out how to keep these videos simple until I recover and get my energy back.
I'm on day 69 of 75 Hard! Less than a week to go.
For those who are new: 75 Hard is a challenge where for 75 consecutive days, you commit to two 45 minute workouts (3 hours apart at the minimum), stick to a diet of your choice, drink 1 gallon of water, and read 10 pages of a non-fiction book.
Additional challenges I've made for myself are (the 'er' part of harder)
-- no social media scrolling.
-- no internet for leisure.
-- film each day, and create a story around it.

This Video Is Unedited (On Purpose)
Переглядів 402 години тому
For the past 68 days, every single day has taken an edit of at least 1-2 hours, with some getting up to 8 hours. I believe the average is 4 hours per edit. I made this video to contrast all of those, as well as give myself the chance to get to bed on time tonight - because we just got a dog! And I need to be up early and back on the day shift. Ok for the sharp eyed people, this video technicall...
2250 Calories: The Clean Bulk Way
Переглядів 2884 години тому
In this video, I go over my strategy to put on muscle. My fitness goals are connected to a desire to be able to do my job as a filmmaker well, for a long time. As I get older, I notice the impact of the strain of the job more and more on my body. So this is me making a change to how my body is fuelled, in order to grow. I'm on day 67 of 75 Hard! Only a week left!! For those who are new: 75 Hard...
Mistakes Were Made

I severely miscalculated the goal I've set for my daily caloric intake. While I haven't quite reached 3000 daily calories in my journey, I have been scaling up as I go. So it was a shock when I recalculated and found that I needed to set a much lower daily target. The nice thing is that since 3000 always felt pretty lofty, it makes 2250 feel low and very doable. I'm on day 66 of 75 Hard! For th...
The Weight of Expectation

My soul needs rest in order for me to continue pushing for excellence. I've been creating videos non-stop for the past 65 days, but the last couple weeks have been an extra hard push for more production. This has led me to a place where the risk of burnout is quite high. This video allows me to take a quick breather. I'm on day 65 of 75 Hard! For those who are new: 75 Hard is a challenge where ...
3000 Calories: The Dirty Bulk Way
Переглядів 37112 годин тому
In this video, I explore the dirty bulk route. It's not something that is sustainable or desirable for me, but I was curious about it. Tomorrow's video will go into my actual strategy for hitting 3000 calories in a clean bulk, especially beyond the 75 Hard challenge. Please forgive the scrappy edit, It's currently almost 11PM and I haven't slept in over 28 hours. Also, this video is not an endo...
Creating While the World is Asleep

For over 10 days, I've had to progressively get to bed later - which has made me into a night owl. While this is great for my creativity and keeping me disciplined to my growth as a content creator, it's not healthy for me in other ways. So I'm going to make an effort to revert to regular hours, and not be a night owl any more. This video discussed biphasic sleeping, and how it can be a unique ...
No Alcohol For 75 Days Straight
Переглядів 33616 годин тому
I wasn't much of a drinker before, so it's been one of the easier components of the challenge for me. That being said, I have been thinking a lot more about it recently, and considering dropping down my consumption even more when I finish 75 Hard. Alcohol has been linked to increased risk of cancer, and lowers the lifespans of people when used in excess. See article referenced: www.hhs.gov/site...
Sick Again (A Quick Update)
Переглядів 4719 годин тому
My immunity must have been low from my content push this past week, I fell sick overnight. I learned the first time around that I just need to adjust my workouts and keep going, but hopefully this time I recover faster than it took me then. I'm on day 61 of 75 Hard! Only 15 days left. For those who are new: 75 Hard is a challenge where for 75 consecutive days, you commit to two 45 minute workou...
Filmmaker doing 75 Hard: Day in 60 seconds
Переглядів 57621 годину тому
The past 8 days has looked exactly like this. Without stopping, I've made a high production value video each day (technically night), stopping only to sleep (at 8AM!) and eat. It's unsustainable but has really sharpened a few of my skills. So I wouldn't really recommend doing it, as it pushed me into the night shift (which means very little human interaction.) Creativity requires down-time, so ...
Careening Towards Burnout: Real Talk
Переглядів 321День тому
A yap session about tapping into burnout when pursuing excellence, re-thinking what the pursuit of excellence looks like - all while attempting to fix the flat of my bike tire. This whole journey has been fast-track learning. And I appreciate that for what it is - but I'm realizing how important it is to also recognize when something is unsustainable. Note: I'm still not burned out - just aware...
How to Find Calm in Stressful Situations
Переглядів 101День тому
The Safe Place in the Mind is a mental visualization I do to help me through stressful moments. Recently, I've been thinking a lot about preparation. When we are able to develop good stress responses before we need them, we're set up to be more resilient in the face of inevitable difficulty. I'm on day 58 of 75 Hard! This last push is a heavy one, but I'm doing it one day at a time. For those w...
Why Resolutions Don't Work (And What Does)
Переглядів 77День тому
If you've ever tried to stick to New Years Resolutions, you'll know it's way easier setting them. The problem is that they're a seasonally motivated decision. When we learn to implement changes or build discipline regardless of what time of year it is, we begin to take steps towards actual progress. I'm on day 57 of 75 Hard! The light at the end of the tunnel is here :) For those who are new: 7...
Being Prepared (When Life Gives You Lemons)
Переглядів 82День тому
You've probably heard the saying, 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade' but this is a different take on that. Being more focused on preparing for inevitable challenges is much more effective than waiting for something difficult before forcing yourself to be positive within it. I'm on day 56 of 75 Hard! Getting closer to the end one day at a time. For those who are new: 75 Hard is a challe...
The Antidote to Insecurity: Encouragement
Переглядів 14614 днів тому
Encouragement can be the solution to insecurity for a lot of people. By choosing to help people be confident, we are helping them overcome their insecurities, even if it's slowly. I've been so fortunate to have encouraging people in the comments of my UA-cam videos, and you've taught me the importance of this. I'm on day 55 of 75 Hard! Getting closer to the end one day at a time. For those who ...
