    In difficult situation, often we rely on anger as a will to act, but actually self-awareness gives you more power. You are worthy, you deserve to live your own life.

    己を犠牲に何かを成し遂げようとする力より 己が生きようと、生き抜こうとする力の方が強い という比古師匠の言葉は今も私の中で響いている。 私たちの人生だって、日々日々が何かとの戦い とてつもない困難が降りかかってくることもある そんな困難に直面した時、己を奮い立たせ立ち向かっていける姿勢こそ 死に向かって己を犠牲にならんとする力より 生に向かって生きようとする力なのだと思う。

  • @Intrepid_Explorer

    1:34 Kenshin's inner thoughts, as shown by his purple-eyed reflection in the water, represents Kenshin's inner confusion and turmoil, as he simultaneously fears death despite believing himself to no longer be worthy of life. Yet once the camera pans up to him at 1:38 we can see that Kenshin has allowed himself become Hitokiri Battousai once more, as represented by his golden eyes. 1:39 Hiko notices this change in Kenshin, and correctly calls him a fool. The promise of death behind Hiko Seijuro was enough for Kenshin to briefly bring Battousai out in an instinctive act to protect himself from what was otherwise certain death, just like he had done in his fights with Jin-E, Saito and more. Kenshin always changed to Battousai when he needed more strength then he had, yet as Hiko notes at 2:56, relying on Battousai's power, even if to protect others, is not the kind of strength that Kenshin needs. A beautiful sequence.

    If you value your life, you can't teach final technique to your apprentice. However if you take your life for granted, you can't learn final technique. What a beautiful but it seems to be contradiction.

    • @Yakkosprite
      @Yakkosprite 4 місяці тому

      That is the point. Only one person should bear the knowledge and burden of the ougi. When the final technique is passed down, it means the master has found someone worth taking their place and they are no longer needed. The passing down method ensures the previous master is released from the world, and the new master understands the weight implied with becoming the master of the style. TlDr: The master must understand that their literal last job is to give their life for their apprentice and the apprentice must understand that becoming the master means to be left without other guidance

      As do I my soul similar brother in spirit, though I probably would frame it differently and it also almost surely is rather different in its manifestations, though something fundamentally in it is probably infinitely more essential to its essence functionally. Feel free to reply to this when you come to visit. I'm rarely far away from here and usually in or near to a space that resonates with what you presented here. Wish you well or well enough homie.
