How to modify hard to honk horn on Jeep JK.
Thanks for the video. I will be trying this next week. Did you replace the bridge also?
No, the bridge was fine. I also found out after I did it that the Epiphone is completely hollow. I think if you remove the bridge pickup it might be easier to put the components in the guitar.
Great. I was stuck on his to remove the cover. Showing to remove the lower right screw on the electric start, did the truck. Thx
Late to comment but the new panel is it one piece and reuse the back piece or do you need 2 panels?
You need to buy both pieces. The small one in the back won't fit the new large piece.
Great job on the install of the lettering... Thank you.
I got the same bump stops up front, an feels like hitting pot holes the polyurethane is very hard guess I'll have 2 trim mine down maybe inch an half
And where did you find that tire size
I got the lift kit on eBay and the tires on Amazon.
What 2” lift do you have?
feel like T54 tank ! kkk
paint TRD letters if you like kkk ( Your truck....right?) kkk
How did u replace 2 red hooks?
Looks good. You should of went with dark bronze
Yeah. I didn't think of it back then but I think that would have looked really nice.
Where did you order the letters from?
Got the letters on Ebay from bdtrim.
It Never took my scratches away
I don't know what kind of scratches you had, maybe they were too deep. It removes light scratches and the haze caused by Armorall. I used it and looks like new. I guess you are going to have to replace it.
Yo that Wax is garbage
Yo no it is not. It worked for me.
Ill be trying this today. Its defenitly not the pump making that noise. Its the actual filter housing. So the same exact noise as you
Looks decent though I was wondering why you even bothered painting the lugs. I figured the plasti dip would come right off as soon as you tighten the lugs back on the studs. Anyways nice job man.
Good info
debiste mostrar como hiciste la coneccion electrica...muy necesario para usar kit 2020 en una 2017 you should show how to connect the wire sistem on this...or how could be compatible... the wire conection is important... because i do not know how to do the conection of 2020 kit on 2017 wires
I connected it to the dome light which turns on when you open the door. You can also connect it to an after market switch. I taped on to the dome light wires and that is were I got my power. Look at the video I did on connecting LED footwell lights to dome light. But this might be a bit complicated.
Thanks man, help me out awesome ❤❤
Mine throws an abs light
How many switches would you recommend wiring to it, and has it held up good or have you ran into any issues ?
I'm not sure what you are asking. I have 1 light per switch, you can probably put more than one light per switch but I only recommend 1 light per switch. No issues so far after 3 years. Hope this answers your question.
@@juliodavid49 I have a few switches that I am trying to wire but not sure if I should tap them all to the same oem connector
@@tony9149 Right now all I have is 3 using the same wire. If I were you I would not connect too many together. Find another wire to tap into, you don't want to overload the circuit.
@@juliodavid49 would it be fine if I used the other headlight to wire or should I find another source to power them on
@@tony9149 how many switches in total are you installing?
Most the Johnny Marr signature bridges are a 52mm mustang bridge! Just double check with the supplier you order from, I believe there were a few runs that were not 52mm.
Remove the black block on the axel. Why do you have 1 inch of travel? Should be at least 6. That bump stops extension on the bottom . Is not right for your suspension set up.
I took them out and replaced them with OEM bump stops. I have since then sold the Jeep.
Ethanol is bad for small engines! You need to clean your carburator most of the time or you replace it with a new one!
In my case it was just a bad carburetor. It has been working fine since I changed it 6 years ago. I don't even have to use the electric starter, it turns on with a couple of pulls.
Very good job with the video. I was able to get the job done
What hole saw size did you use ? I used one and it was too big
I don't remember, and I can't measure it without taking it apart. Find some scrap plastic and make a plastic washer. Make it so that the tweeter does not go thru it and big enough to cover the hole on the on the plate. You can buy plastic pieces at the home center that is used for picture framing if you don't have a scrap piece lying around. Test the size of the hole by making it on a piece of cardboard first. Hope this helps.
That cardboard made it so easy 👍🏼👍🏼
Sweet looking truck! How many cans did you use?
I think it was just 1 bottle. And that includes the tailgate cover.
Increased sound comes from under the hood if you removed the air intake baffle that comes stock.
Made no difference in sound on the exhaust because it’s in the engine bay. ….. you didn’t install and exhaust, you installed a cold air intake.
will it fit a 2022 tacoma SR5 with a 2 inch leveling kit?
Don't know. I guess you can look up the OEM plate and see what yers it will, then you will know if they are the same.
The problem is the design with both the switches amd the controller. The computer controls the horn and the switches are on-off type. Iys as if whoever designed the horn system wanted it to be as unsafe as possible. The switches would have to be replaced with those that give variable voltage depending on how hard they're pushed and the wiring would need to bypass the computer and go straight to a relay that activates the horn. A simple design overlooked by the politics of carmakers.
Or they could have installed lighter springs like I did. It worked really good after I changed the springs.
Nice job! Thanks for the help.
Thanks a lot. It help me to do the job!!
Glad it helped.
Im building a base platform then raised storage and bed area. Glad I saw this I will remove this forst and deal with the sides with plywood as that replacement panel is expensive...thanks a lot
Very nice but didn't show how to connect the wires😢
The purpose of the video is to show how to make the mounting holes for this type of lights that do not exist on older 3 gen Tacomas. the wiring can be done in many ways depending how you want the lights to light up. They can be connected to the dome light, an independent on and off switch or connected to power when you turn on your daylight driving lights or anything you want. I did a video on how to tap into the dome lights or look at a video by Yota Xpedition they show an easier way to connect the wires to the dome lights. Hope this helps.
How about a double tap, does it work?
It sure does.
Did you ever add an amp? That’ll make a massive difference, even without a sub
I have not added an amp. I don't feel that I need it. I am very happy with sound I get now with this setup. I also changed the back door speakers and everything sounds really good. The highs are very nice and the bass response is really really good without distortion or rattling.
@@juliodavid49 I hear ya man. I just replaced mine also and am for the most part pleased as well. I may eventually get a small powered sub, but I’m not in any hurry. I mostly listen to metalcore, worship music, and symphonies, so nothing overly bass heavy. They have some 8” powered subs I’d like to eventually look at, but that’ll be down the road. Glad to hear you’re satisfied with your rig. I hope it continues to work well for ya. Thanks for the video, it helped me out a lot. Be blessed, sir, but most importantly, be a blessing. ✌🏻
did you well the sub then?
Look at the second video.
Can the lens can be removed from the cluster ?
Yes. I mention in the video that you can. I didn't do it because the buffer worked.
Use a 3/8 drill bit in reverse than use a straight 10mm remer
I already did it the way I did it. I am not a luthier but this is how luthiers do it. I would also not use a drill to do this because you might drill it too far. Have you done this on your guitar? I don't see how a drill in reverse would drill maple. Let me know if you have a video to see how you did it.
Great video, thanks for your help!
Completely wrong way to do this.
Can you show me the video you did with the correct way to do this? Or explain what the correct way is?
Sorry to hear that. Did you get the correct one for your vehicle? Did you contact Pro Tech for technical help? I know the product is not cheap, but for me it is an amazing product that protects the the plastic from getting scratched or damaged by ArmorAll.
On my screen I had to cut every single hole out worst product I ever seen not worth the money
@bravofix do you know how many inches that light strip is or the link to buy it from? Thx
I still have the old package. It does not have a brand. The front of the package says "DIY LED Auto Lamp". On the back it has model number "LES-SG20SR". And I bought them from "luffygroup" on Ebay. They were 20" long. I don't know if they still sell them on Ebay. That's all I have. Hope it helps.
It's just a little off but who's gonna know
in what way is it off?
@@juliodavid49 It's off just a hair, I'm a perfectionist. I thought you might be also.
In what way? Too big too small? Left to right? Too forward too far back? Are you talking about the mounted plate? Or are you talking about the lettering?@@1718HULK
@@juliodavid49 I'm not trying to get you upset. I'm just talking about the lettering. I think it looks very nice.
@@juliodavid49 My personal preferences. I'm gonna do the same thing you did. But i'm gonna spray paint it black
Looks like he's running stock rims those look like 7 x 16
Yes they are stock rims. That is why I had to add the spacers. The stock rims do not have the proper offset to keep them from rubbing. But I did not know that at the time. So that is why I did the video to show that if you keep your stock rims the tires will rub and you are going to have add spacers. I did not have the money at the time so that is why I did it that way.
My JL came with what looks like aftermarket horns from the previous owner, I am gonna intall something like this because my jeep sounds like a clown nose, not even joking.
Yeah I know. I think after 2015 or so Jeep started putting real horns on them. People kept complaining that they sounded like the cartoon roadrunner.
Thank you. It helped me replace carburetor.
