      Thanks. We are in a wet pattern as well so didn't know whether to trust when the weather man said we would have 4 dry days. But it turned out better than I expected. I put preservative on because we still had some stem moisture but it wasn't bad and probably would keep without preservative but better safe than sorry

    How does one pound out 7 bails in 1 minute?

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman 18 днів тому

      Are you saying we weren't baling 7 bales/minute? Or are you just asking how we got hay that thick? I believe the video shows that we are doing at least that. Portions of the field I think we were more than that. The biggest thing is to have good thick hay and big windrows, good hay and plenty of fertilizer. At 7 bales/minute this baler isn't being pushed hard, that is over 13 flakes/ bale. I like to keep it around 12 flakes in a bale. You can get by with 10 flakes but you're going to see more variable lengths and any lower than that and you're really pushing the bales harder than you should.

    Thanks for the video, just acquired a 315 but having a hard time getting sprocket off to replace bearing as rear bearing seal is gone and it’s missing some ball bearings. Noticed shaft has a snap ring on front of baler, does not seem that shaft removes easily. Was your sprocket hard to remove, any trick that helped? Keep up the great videos!

    Question, after stacking your bales in storage in hay barn, and since they are on pallets, if you get a client that wants a bundle delivered nearby to where you live, can you back up to the bundle in the hay shed, and pick up an entire bundle for delivery.

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman Місяць тому

      I could do that with the stacker and lay the stack down. You couldn't set it on a trailer because it would be too tall and would fall over if you tried driving with it. If you could figure out how to shorten it some you could to that.

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman Місяць тому

      You're talking about the little bar that the bearings mount on on the end of the feeder bar? You Remove the bearings and collars and loosen the bolt that clamps it in and it'll slide out.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing! I have a quick question (mine is a Gehl 5640, but looks very much like yours)... I am suspecting a faulty flywheel-to-pump plastic coupler since I have no pressure anywhere. Just as a first step, I pulled off just the little aux pump on the end of the stack (I believe is the pump for the loader), and then I crank over the engine (using remote starter button and watching the shaft), I'm seeing the shaft (coupler with the splines on the inside), not turning when cranking over engine. Am I correct to assume this shaft should turn with the engine at all times? In other words, do all those shafts in the other pumps just pass through so all pumps should turn along with the flywheel?

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman Місяць тому

      No problem glad it is helping you out a bit. You are correct, the shafts of each of those pumps turn with the engine at all times. I had to take my drive pumps apart anyway to repair one. They are a load together to get out. If you take take them apart make sure you replace the oring sealing the 2 together. if you don't they will most likely leak there when you put them back together. Good luck and let me know if you need anything else.

    I have a question concerning the wire fencing you use in between the bales. You said you cut them I believe at 6 feet in lengths, do you then cut any of the wire and turn them down into the hay for better grip or just keep the wire flat?

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman 4 місяці тому

      Just keep the wire flat. You’ll see you don’t need it to grip any better than it does flat. And if you had some bent down it would be a pain to place.

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman 4 місяці тому

      What makes you say it’s building pressure but not circulating? Can you hear the engine loading up because of the pump? If that’s the case it could be the brakes aren’t releasing in the motors.

    I have a case IH sb541 that has given me trouble from day one even though I’ve moved thousands by hand I’m still pretty new to running square balers and am looking for help adjusting it because I can’t get my bales out square as in one side is too loose. I have also been having problems with the knotters recently but I think that is a problem for too much grease

    • @thebalerman
      @thebalerman 4 місяці тому

      Not sure what knotter issues you're having but bale shape is usually a packer fork adjustment and therefore has to do with feed. First you need to be making good tight solid bales. If you still have an issue you can adjust the packer fork. One direction for too much hay and the other for too little. Your book should say which direction to go for your scenario. Make sure you're feeding it enough. They like to eat.

    Last I seen on UA-cam 29,000 is a lot of money for for brand new baler Without the thrower, i haven't turned Hay since I was a kid Probably 40 years ago. The equipment hasn't changed much though, & I couldn't tell you about the different series of New Holland, but that's what we used to use. The baie thrower used a gasoline engine, noisy son of a bitch. I like the ones that have the shaft that goes all the way back to the thrower. All the videos that I've seen about keeping the balers up Have been pretty straightforward. It sounds like something that a person could get out and make a little money with, even myself. If a person got himself a service truck and you stocked parts for different kind of balers, Even the John Deers, you could probably make a little money on the side keeping on everybody's equipment up. Nice job

    did you get your stacks to stand? the pallets should help, a rack to lean on helps too since we started using pallets they stacks stand on their own with out a tie in there we run 3 - 1010 wagons and can load in about 15 min the rack free stands and can be recovered and move by a wagon

      These cylinders are 2.5" bore and 16" stroke. The stroke will depend on what group of bales you're wanting to pick up and everything. So far I haven't had any issues with not being able to squeeze tight enough.
