How can I reach this dog?
Great video! Love the truthfulness given here. You have the best squirrel dog training channel on UA-cam. Keep up the great work!!
@@colbyneibert7317 thanks Colby,I try to give the information that I myself would have benefited the most from when I was getting started in the competition hunting world.
OUTSTANDING!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Excellent and very informative i enjoyed it
Hello friend, I'm calling from this dog.
Man he looks an sounds great
Really like your setup. I’ve taken alot of your stuff and set it up here the same way with success. Thank you.
Dude, can you send me one of these dogs?
Enjoy all the videos! Keep em coming!
Good mouth
Do u still use this to hunt squirrel , I'm trying to get one, but it's expensive. How well does it work ?
Works well early morning and late evening. Also in cool bad weather. Not to good during the hot times of the day.
@squirreldogtraining4914 I just got the tm10 256. I don't know how good it is compared to the one you have.
great video good luck
Man he looks good an he sounds even better!
Thanks
❤❤❤❤
These are the dogs they wanted back in the 1900’s bring home the meat
Now you don’t see many dogs that can hunt two different game animals and get the job done like they are suppose to. I really like the looks and mouth Jedi has. Nice cur dog
Thanks
I really enjoy your videos and watching how you train a dog. I have learned some things watching your videos. Thanks for posting them and keep up the good work with them fine cur dogs 👍
Meat dogs❤
JESUS LOVES YOUUUUUUUUUUU
I love Jesus
Do you know Richy
Nope
Love the video! Im wanting to put some of those nesting boxes up as well.... it appeared you used buckets for those as well... how big of a hole are you putting in it? Are you putting anything on the inside of the nesting box so they can climb out?
I put a 2×4 on the inside between the holes so I can put a screw through it into the tree to hold it in place and the squirrel can climb on it. In and out of the buckets. I just make the hole what I think is big enough for the squirrel. I real don't measure it.
How soon do you start walking your pups through your training areas like this?
As soon as they are big enough to follow you.
Could you video one of your training walks? I have 25 ac. Available to me to set something like this up. Thanks for all the great info.
Most of the videos I post happens in this area. I just don't video continuous throught the hole walk. But feel free to scroll through the older videos. I put no here for you guys.
Nice training session
Does that work on any age dog
I do it at all ages.
Mr Chad i really enjoy your videos i been following for a while now and have learned alot from them..i got original mountain cur dogs and love it!!
Thanks glad I can help
In your opinion what do you think a above average squirrel dog is ?
It has to do with the person feeding it. If you like meat hunting you want a hard driven game drive. If you what to casually stroll through the woods and see your dog tree a few. I'd go for a hotter nose close hunting dog cur or a feist type dog. But now day most squirrel dogs that come from a good breeding program will be above average if the owner does his part.
I agree thanks for your reply
Chad when I was a kid a friend of the family took me squirrel hunting with a dog a few times. I loved it. If I were to get a dog now having no experience and wanting a house pet/ hunting buddy would I be better off with a kur or fiest ? I enjoy watching your videos. Im in east TN.
I probably go with a feist for pleasure hunting and house pet.
I really like the Mullins feist. I believe there are Mullins familie is in Tennessee area.
Agree with you. Lots of things are genetic but you can still work on things to make a dog better. It’s not just a set it and forget it.
@@squirreldogtraining4914 what do you think of barger Feist there not to far from me?
Barger are really nice also. It is hard to go wrong with a feist for a good pleasure dog. They lots of fun and compact
You mite wanna introduce yourself and where your from. I bet it would help. Need a name to go with a face.
Nice job
Is there a comment
Enjoy your videos. What is a one bark tree dog? Sound the same on every bark?
In a competition hunt a one bark tree dogs means. You can call the dog tree on the first bark. In a competition a dog has to hold the tree for 2 minutes. With a one bark tree dog the handler can call the dog tree on the first bark and the judge can start the 2 minute clock. Some dogs are slower about locking down on the tree. So you may have to let the bark a few time before calling it treed.
Thanks for letting me know. @@squirreldogtraining4914
Really informative video, thanks for sharing!
It’s really cool how you show and tell us how you train your squirrel dogs and answer questions and give advice, Thanks I do have trouble with a couple of my dogs not staying on the tree long enough till I get to them so any advice or tips I’m not comp hunter just meat hunter thanks again
Thanks feel free to look through some of my past videos. I've done several videos on getting a dog to hold tree. I did one a week or so ago on that topic with Ironmaiden.

Nice looking squirrel dog
Where can I find this little dog?
Hello, can I get one of this dog? It's very nice.
I don't have any available right now. I don't really raise many. Maybe 1 litter every 2 years. But these are OMCBA curs. Original mountain cur breeders association curs
That’s really a great job can you please explain more on the tree training please I’ve never seen anything like this before
The process is just like training a dog to sit and stay except I'm teaching they to stand on a tree and stay. After they start treeing squirrel in the wild I use the stand on tree and stay that I have taught them in my yard to teach them to be tight on the when they are treeing a squirrel. This help train a dog to stay within the rules of a competition hunt. In a competition hunt the dog will be minus if they are to loss on a tree. I start teaching them this as very young puppies and incorporate it as the dog start actually treeing squirrels. In reality all competition squirrel dog trainers do this in some form. Every few admit it and say it is a genetic trate. Most hound do possess being tight on the tree as a genetic trait. But most curs feist and other types of tree dog are lose on tree and this compensation for that.
Also people will argue to the death about what I just told you and curse me with every bit of their soul. But I'm trying to get the information out for the new poor squirrel dog guys who are trying to get started. There are way to many money men who buy 3000.00 dollar dogs and hire a payed handler. I'm trying to cut the bull and give the new little guy a chance.

@@squirreldogtraining4914 thanks this helps out a lot I just tie my back to get to at the tree I don’t comp hunt most mine set and bark under the squirrel if they see it in den trees they stand on the wood but I only have two that will stand on the tree only so I can understand why you train them that way to comp hunt but in reality I like the setting where they see the squirrel because if the timber they go after it plus it’s a lot easier for to locate the squirrel but I have a couple of pups I’ll try this on I train mine to set, fetch, look for it, and stay, I really like your channel and dogs any other pointers I would appreciate I kinda new to squirrel hunting with dogs I’ve always been a hound men and thanks for getting back to me too God Bless
Nice job, and he a nice looking pup too
Then when the dog starts barking incessantly at everything...Gawd Dang Hound Shut The F@ck up!😂
