I'd say the main reason for the islands feeling slightly worse is because of the architecture, not neccessarily because of the re-used assets but more because the actual architecture of the buildings are more realistic and tall rather than the cartoony and short buildings we had for the "Mustard Chapters" Also the fact that most if not every chapter 4 season apart from the opening season had their POI's concept art labled as "chapter 3" is kinda..... Bad. I feel like Tim Sweeney called these year long chapters so he could get the "Find it in Fortnite" project out earlier than is would've been. Honestly since these new building architecture only started up in chapter 4, being Charlie Wen's 1st proper fortnite seasons without and of Donalds plans for fortnite i'd say these new buildings are just Charlie's art style for fortnite. Can't really change how skins look otherwise people would get mad amd the whole game would pretty much be made from the ground up if theu were to do that, so they just chose the next best thing. As for the duplicate buildings everywhere and stuff "feeling the same" i'd say thats just one of the concequences of laying off 900 employees and making the live event staff work on Find it in Fortnite. I'd say the LE staff did help in some way for the POI's like making part of Neo Tilted in season 9 for Mecha team leader to interact with Aswell as thoes ruined version of retail and tilted in the unvaulting event in season 8.
Chapter 3 is like the middle child of Fortnite
I think on of the main things a map needs is OG ch 1 and ch 2 locations, like ch 2 had salty, retail and pleasant, and ch 3 having greasy, shifty, tilted, lazy lagoon and an upgraded logjam lumberyard
I enjoyed chapter 4 it was fun and the map was good I don’t know what you are talking about
I didn’t say the map was terrible, I said it lacked compared to other chapters
@@RyRy_Createss oh ok 👍
Bro got the sypherpk music 💯
the point you made with chapter 1 housings being unique despite them being the same is kind of wrong IMO. I guess you could argue that the house in salty springs had the basement to it so that made it unique, but other than that the houses were mostly the same and bland (in greasy grove, pleasant park, salty springs.) One thing I credit retail row for is for having broken down houses. They weren't anything crazy but I think they made that specific POI more interesting. One thing I also credit chapter 2 for is that they made the POIS actually feel more unique by adding different stuff. (Pleasant park in ch2 s2, ch2 s3 and ch2 s3, salty in ch2 s3, ch2 s4, ch2 s5, and especially ch2 s6.) by adding the gas station in salty and changing pleasant around, they made them feel more separated from one another rather than an obvious copy n paste. But good video 👍
yes but as yu said with every house in chapter 1 being the same , there was always one thing about each poi that made it different . greasy with the diner , pleasant with the soccer field , retail with the stores , tilted with trump tower , misty meadows with the bridge , even loot lake being a literal house in a lake with random ass factories on the side . the more recent chapters dont have any distinct characterizations at any points of the map , there are no unique buildings in random poi's , there are no oddly large mountains with unique trees like in chapter 1-3 , there are no things like RV parks , camps , soccer stadiums or any other random locations that the first 3 chapters always tended to include . nowadays they usually will add a house or a gas station as a landmark N call it a day . the problem isnt the fact that everything is "the same" but its the fact that there isnt any personality or uniqueness involved in recent maps . it feels very uninspired N boring compared to the chaotic N random nature that fortnite used to have back in chapter 1 - chapter 3 . another problem is the UI and sound effects . the item shop literally looks like a website N all the gun pickup sounds jus sound like generic guns instead of the unique jingle they used to have in chapter 1 , no personality involved at all anymore .
@@g6nesis_ i do agree that in chapter 5 there is significant lack of good unamed pois. Also with the chapter 1 stuff I was talking about just the houses sorta using the same models
@@Squeaksy yea i def see where yr coming from . my favourite map is chapter 2's for the same reasons that yu mentioned . jus felt like sharing my thoughts a lil
@@g6nesis_ I appreciate your input
This was the calmest and most respectful confrontation I have ever seen on UA-cam, congrats@@Squeaksy
The Chapter 1, 2, & 3 maps were great and felt real 'Fortnitey' I liked the neon green grass and the cartoony art style, but Chapter 4 & 5 just feel like a totally different game and the colors are just so dull and monotone, especially the teal grass of Chapter 4, and the dead yellow grass of Chapter 5. and the Chapter 4 & 5 maps also really small compared to Chapter 1, 2, & 3. I still enjoy Chapter 5 so far as a chapter, but the map is just not it for me...
I loved chapter 4's map
The game looks realistic if you play on Xbox.
A great example of CH1 where many buildings and towns can have similar assets and houses, But each felt unique, In chapter 4 you don’t even know what part of the POI you were in they were so big
There is too much poi's that look the same and feel like copies of each other but chapters 1, 2, 3 had different and unique locations more than right now.
Simple 4 and 5 made the map smaller and landmarks one of the best things are nearly frogoten and the thing that is also needed is more buildings in the middle of knowhere also no old locations also the Easter eggs were fun I mean remember how the feres buller car was the only one that spawned in team rumble originally and everyone fought over it. Good times.
I liked chapter 4. I'm probably in the minority for saying that but I really enjoyed Ch4
Chapter 4 was the best!
The graphics and lighting were amazing, way better than chapter 5 tbh
i loved this map because of 1 spot
3:26 i know anvil sqare was based of attack on titan's towns
CHAPTER 4 IS MY FAVORITE!!!
Dang I didn't know the virtual cosmetic Brainstorm from the hit game Fortnite Battle Royale created by the company Epic Games in 2017 had so much to say about the game Fortnite Battle Royale created by the company Epic Games in 2017!
finally someone that mentions how realism ruins the aesthetic of the game
The game still looks cartoony, just less cartoony than before.
@@vernal5545 maybe, but they washed out the colors in chapter 5 so bad it looks awful, even chapter 4 at least had colors to it
@@SatoruArmin chapter 5 has nice colors too, but you just chose to ignore that. The only part of the map that is really washed is the grass biome where Snooty Stepps is.
@@vernal5545 and almost all of the trees
💯

Im subbing ❤
Thank you!
they need to pay more attention to battle royale and keeping that as the main game mode, overall , the 3 new game mode launches have been a pretty big flop with some having less players than maps like the pit. however if they spent more time on how long the chapters are, loot pool, map and battlepasses, i could see br becoming way more enjoyable.
Agreed!
battle royale AND save the world, stw is where they should still be getting the br assets from

I think it is the graphics, the care, the yearly maps, the goofiness, and the character and feel of fortnite, its all being ruined. Also they are ruining iconic things like the UI and animations, as well as iconic graphics. Each poi sucks and has no soul.
EXACTLY
Honestly I agree, personally I really like collaborations, especially icon series emotes, I wish they did a little less collabs but I understand why they do so much, it does keep the game thriving.
Fortnite is one of the closest games to being a metaverse with the insane amount of cosmetics and players they have + the ability to make your own crap with Creative and UEFN
Chapter 5s map is good it's just not as cartoony
Exactly, which is a reason why I think it’s inferior to other maps
As much as I hate the chapter 4 map, I honestly kinda like chapter 5's. I will say though, ch1 and 2 had much better maps for all the reasons you discussed. Also, how do we know ch 5 is going to be a year long? It feels much more finished compared to the rushed garbage of ch4. I really want another 2 year long chapter, and I was hoping chapter 5 might be that
Yeah, it’s just a prediction that chapter 5 will also be a year long based on Fortnite’s trajectory
@@RyRy_Createss I totally understand that, and unfortunately it's probably the case. Ch5 has an amazing base island imo, but with the slight lack of pois plus fn stating that og is going to return sometime this year, I'm probably coping thinking that chapter 5 has a chance of being 2 years long
chapter 5 forests looks like cod type realistic battle royale ... and i hate that most , i also want that cartoonish look back
Same man, it’s too realistic
My main problem with the chapter five map is most of the big boss locations feel the same. They’re all just big mansions. I’m fine with all the bosses having massive homes but it’s not as good when there all just the same thing.
POIs feeling the same has been a big issue the last two chapters
Honestly chapter 2 s 2 boss POIs were more simillar to eachother than this season
@@onoffbutton9922 I left Fortnite in season x and just returned recently so I never played that season
@@onoffbutton9922 not really. A cave, oil rig, mansion/prison, yacht, and office building all were unique
chapter 4 had the best artstyle shame they threw it away
Bros brain whashed
@@Thatpurpleguy69 by who?
Chapter 4 had the worst arstyle, it completely ditched the cartoon-ish style the game was originally based on and turned it into and ugly "realistic" corporate mess to promote unreal engine 5's graphical capabilities, the chapter 4 map lacked vibrancy and had an absolute ridiculous amount of overused assets.
He started in ch4 defo
@@Thatpurpleguy69 frfr
I honestly really liked chapter 4 Yeah I said it, Fight me
it wasn't as bad as everyone says it was especially the first 2 seasons
I’m not gonna fight you because tbh I basically didn’t play it and it doesn’t sound the worst, but there’s an obvious reason Season OG had such a spike in players
@@inconspicuous45 there is an obvious reason
Your opinion, don’t agree
Finally someone that's not nostalgia pandering!
I´ve never seen a chapter hating life so much like chapter 5
