I do hardware synth jams, mostly in melodic & progressive dance genres and sound design / how-to videos for devices I own such as the Sequential Pro 3, Dave Smith Pro 2, Korg Modwave, Elektron Analog Four / Analog Rytm, Akai Force and other studio gear.
Let's make music and learn from each other. I'm happy to help when I can!
You can also follow me on Soundcloud.

Live studio performance #dawless jam 019. With Force, Pro 2, Pro 3, Analog Four, Rytm & more
A Sunday hardware jam with the Akai Force, Sequential Pro 2, Pro 3, Elektron Analog Four, Rytm and more.
This time around a melodic techno track. The song was recorded and mastered in Cubasis on an iPad pro for the first time (I haven't quite got the hang of it yet).
Also lessons learned for next time: It was the second take and I forgot to change the melody of the MB33 after a while, which caused the same melody to play just a little too long.
What do you think, do you like it? Let me know in the comments.
The track can also be listened to on my Soundcloud:

Akai Force and Toraiz AS-1 - Midi-cc controlled 303-style acid bass
Переглядів 9102 роки тому
Just a demonstration for a fellow producer to show that you can create a decent 303-style acid bass sound with the Toraiz AS-1, which I compare with the MAM mb33. Then I show how to control the cutoff and resonance via midi-cc on the AS-1 with the Akai Force. The sound just comes over the speakers this time because it was just a short demonstration to show that something is possible. #Akai #For...

This can be in the Akai Force but also for the device I use next to it. First of all a very happy new year!! In this video I tell you about the planned tutorial series for 2022. The premise is that in these tutorials I use another device from my setup in addition to the Akai Force and do a live jam on it, after which I show how I have everything set up and arranged, both in the Akai Force and in the device I use next to it. I'll go over the different parts like tra...

Hardware Jams weekend challenge - 5 minute jam from scratch

For the Hardware Jams weekend challenge, the assignment was to create a jam from scratch in 5 minutes, not longer. The rules were simple. Samples and sounds were allowed to be made in advance, but pre-made sequences were not allowed at all (or any other preparations), so I actually had to come up with something while I was creating it. If you are in a live situation and something goes wrong you...

Yeah, Hansu is back! Great jam and love the skin. Was it easy to apply?
Hey, thanks mate! Yeah, it's been a while since I've been active with music, but I have some more time now and the drive to get back into it. The skin is pretty easy to apply and also easy to correct if needed. Just be careful not to pull the vinyl too much, because then it can warp a bit and you want to avoid that. The next device with a coating like the MPC/Force I would probably put a skin on it right away. I'm very happy with it.
@@HansuMyura Thanks!! Will definitely look into it then
What does your launch control xl contol here?
Nice tutorial! Can i choose the Program Change bank and sub bank?
Hi Lucas, thank you for your nice comment! It's been a while since I made that video. What isn't shown in the video is that under the 'Program change: From Clip' option you also have the option to send a bank change. By default the bank change option is set to 'From track', but if you change this to 'From Clip' you will then see the options to select 'Midi Bank MSB' and 'Midi Bank LSB'. These allow you to select a program from a bank or sub-bank. I haven't tried it, but I assume these messages are recorded similarly to a program change and are editable afterwards.
@@HansuMyura thank you!

cool; setup but music is so so, may be)) Try to learn music theory insted of pushing buttons, may be you ready for it))
Hey @IDMENTAL, Thanks for your comment and you are right. Aside from the fact that this was more of a demo to show how I used the Launch Control XL, I agree that music theory is more important than pushing buttons. It's definitely something I've been working on more over the past two years than refining my studio setup and figuring out how to best hook everything up for a studio jam session.
@@HansuMyura i know it because the same, pushing buttons until i find myself playing piano, only then i understand what is it all about music. That's why I would like musicians to make more complex and interesting music, not repeating the same track over and over again, so that the listener would be more tempted by good sound and interesting chords.
Great Work!! Loving the passion and all the videos are so helpful with the Akai and the Electron integration.
Thank you! 🙂
I'm curious if you have tried this method with any of the new plugins that Akai has added to the modern machines. I'd love to be able to send midi from my ableton clips to the mpc plugin tracks.
Unfortunately I can't tell you this. Not long after making these videos I decided to sell the MPC Live and later bought an Akai Force. I also don't know the details of the various updates the MPC has received, so I don't know if you can now assign midi channels to tracks or anything like that. Anyway, the Akai Force can certainly do what you ask. If you haven't bought MPC (Live) yet and the ability to play plugins through Ableton isn't there yet, this is something to consider.
Hansu, is it possible to change the MPC Plugin presets from a controller/keyboard in standalone? I tried all tree options in settings but non did change the Presets of lets say the Electric plugin.. Cheers
Hi Eddie, Unfortunately I can't answer this question because I no longer have the MPC. I also no longer know how it worked and/or how things have changed in that respect, because it was too long ago.
@@HansuMyura Oh, I understand, just thought it was worth taking a shot. btw did you just found another way of making music or simply got "tired" of the mpc?
@@eddiexx When I got rid of the MPC I had been waiting for a firmware update for quite some time because the midi implementation was very bad at the time, but because this did not happen I sold it. With some doubt I bought an Akai Force a little later, the midi implementation of which was also not good at the time, but because Akai had fixed this on the MPC in the meantime, I had every confidence that it would work out. I think the Force is a better device for me in many ways, especially when it comes to workflow, but sometimes I miss features of the MPC that aren't on the Force. I've also often thought about buying the MPC again, but I don't know if I'll be using it very often alongside the Force and my other devices, so I haven't bought it for that reason yet. Who knows, I might buy another one in the future if I can think of a function for it.
@@HansuMyura aah, i get it. if you had problems with midi i understand your frustration with all your gear. i work very much in the mpc only (export for mixing), so i never really had any problems other than learning to use it and learning to arrange my tracks. As long as you are able to finish your songs changing setups is justa a pita and waste of time. the ultimate goal for me is arranging faster, that has always being my problem. im getting there and the mpc has helped me a lot in that aspect. :)
Cool vid. Have been really interested in good synths/boxes to pair with the Force!
Hi Will, glad you like the video. And as far as good synths go, I've made quite a few changes to my setup since this video, but I'm very happy with what I have now (it still kind of matches). Hopefully I can make a video of this soon. But in the end it depends on what sound and workflow you like.
you music is really boring.

outstanding content, thank you
Thank you!
Great setup and video!! Do you mix on the XR18 or the Force? Looking at the XR18, but want to "set it & forget it" and mainly use as an audio interface and wondering how realistic that actually is 🤣
Thank you! Due to circumstances I had to stop making music and video content for a while. Since a few weeks I have some more time and I have connected my music equipment again. I've always worked towards a hybrid setup (hardware/DAW) and I've now indeed set up my XR18 mixer once and I don't touch it again. Soon I might make a video showing my current setup.
@@HansuMyura thanks! I picked up the XR18 and love it for the Force & other gear
Nice musical movement. Cheers!
Thank you!
Any pops or clicks with the xr18 interface when multitrack recording? I tried 2 different behringer and other interfaces with my force (not the XD-18) and while the behringer ones actually worked I would get intermittent pops and clicks and dropouts.
Previously I had my UMC1820/ADA8200 combo connected to my Force and I had no problems with pops and clicks. I have never connected the XR18 to the Force myself. Akai is now aware of this problem and, given the last firmware updates, they are working hard to solve that problem for all audio interfaces.
Latency too big.
This is what happens when you actually learn how to use your gear and stop bitching about And waiting for presets an update from engineers

Hoi Hans, I sampled my own beatbox, kick, snare, hihat in one sample. I sliced them up, but how can I play 2 samples at the same time, since they are alternating, in the "long sample"? Is there some kind of Duplicate function for the samples, so I can group them, and/or play them polyphonicwise? Thanks in advance for answering!
Hi Hansu, Do you know how to record modulation and pitchbend directly in to the arranger? somehow I cant figure this out..Thanks in advance!
I've found the answer in the overlay text of your video @5:04, Don't forget to "disable midi rec erase", I disabled it and Bumshakalakaaaaaaaa! It works!
Wow
Thanks! 😊

Hi Inky, glad you like it 😎👍
What a setup! What is going on with ipad please?
Thank you! The tablet runs software for my digital mixer. That way I can operate it wherever I am as long as I'm on the same network.

Thanks Mark! 🤡😎
Try recording a snppet of outside ambience (use phone), cut the sample in half /with the same length , pan them L/R and process away...if you like wide/ outside the speaker' sound , this is it...
I love this 😍 im really impressed.....Did you connect all your synthesizers to the external mixer then the force?
Thank you! Due to circumstances I was temporarily unable to create music and video content, but my setup changes quite often. I don't remember how I connected it during that period. In fact, I connected my Force to my main mixer/audio interface just like any other gear. Currently only with the 4 outputs, but I've also connected an audio interface to the Force in the past to have more physical outputs.
Ah cool, did you make that video game guy yourself?
Thank you! No, I got it as a gift from someone close to me.
Are you getting intermittent clicks/pops from your UMC1820? I bought one to use with the force but the clicks/pops are too obvious to ignore and unusable. What firmware is the force on?
Hi a Max, I don't experience that. The current firmware (3.1.2) runs on the Akai Force, but the settings of the UMC1820 are also important. Before I started using it, I connected it to the PC and went through the settings in the UMC Control Panel. My current settings in it are: 44.1kHz, 128 samples and 'Safe mode' checked.
Nice video! I see your using using the Novation Peak I connected my Summit to the Force running 3.1.2 over usb and I'm able to play the Summit on the Force pads but unable to record a sequence. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks! 😃👍 Is your question about sound or midi? Sound wise, it all depends on how you've connected the Summit's audio outputs. In my situation the Peak is connected to the digital mixer and I have aux 1&2 connected to the audio interface which is connected to the Akai Force. That way I can record sound into the Force from any device connected to the digital mixer. When it comes to midi data, make sure your midi/sync settings are correct in the preferences. Also make sure that the midi input port is set correctly for the track where you want to record something. Otherwise, search for "midi-in" in the manual for the various topics related to midi input.
Super Start of the Serie.... Force - Elektron Connection is very interesting for me...ooking forward to see some of your Tricks or experience...
Thank you Gert! 😎👍
Great video, really complex setup mate. I wouldn’t be able to deal with it ☺️ Would love if akai would implement usb audio via the usb3 connector, so the inputs are going straight into the computer, like elektron overbridge
Hey thanks Expectaz! It may seem very complicated at first and when you explain a setup like this it certainly looks like it, but I find it very easy to work with and it is useful for many types of projects. I also switch between different ways of working, but I always use this template as a starting point. Yes indeed, it would be great if there were some sort of Overbridge-esque functionality for the Force, but it has to work the exact same way because you can only choose one audio interface on a Windows PC. Elektron did a very fine job with creating Overbridge, I wonder how Akai would fare... ❤️😎👍
@@HansuMyura I know.. Aggregate devices are amazing on Mac.. Another method I’m looking into is Dante and or adat solutions for that purpose to not have DA/AD conversions 😊
@@Expectaz Yes, that is certainly a very nice solution, but also of a different order of magnitude. I'd love something like that too.
Always clear and concise. Looking forward to additional tips. Thanks.

Superb idea. Looking forward for your jams and tutorial too. I always wanna buy an Elektron rythm, or octatrack or digitakt... But i have the force, which should do the same so why buy another gear... Maybe your tutorial make me to buy an Elektron
Thanks Gert! Of the Elektron devices, I only had the Digitakt before and bought it back later. The reason why I will explain in the video about the Digitakt, for the rest I only kept the synthesizers from Elektron. In addition, other devices are also discussed. I'm curious what you will think!
Why you don't have a lot more followers is a total mystery This latest upload along with plenty of past uploads I find a bit special, hidden gems! Thankyou.
Hey Gary, thank you so much!! Well, maybe my music isn't for everyone, but maybe also because people expect instructional videos from my channel instead of jam sessions. I don't know, I already like that I have as many followers on my channel as I do now. For me it is also a learning process and currently I'm mainly making progress in making music and developing my own style. Maybe if I have time to create and upload more videos that the number of followers increases. Anyway thanks for your comment and your kind words! ❤️😎
I really like your music. But what I miss are your Akai Force tutorials, will they come back? Subscribed! (veel succes). btw....a tutorial about using the Force crossfader would be very welcome.
Hey, Thanks a lot! Also for your response to my question in the description. I don't have that much time lately and it's busier in the house, so recording instructional videos doesn't really work that well, but I definitely want to try making those videos again. Plus, my setup has changed again, so I had to learn those devices first. I'm going to see if I can make another how-to series. 👍
great track, just listening on the URL
Thanks for the compliment! 😎👍
Makes me think of underworld, especially the drums. Nice Hansie!
Hey thanks mate! Yeah, it does have the same feel to it 😃
Great job! I’ve listened through what Eric provided and at first listen, couldn’t hear a potential kick but here we are and you found one so I’ll need to do better clearly 😆
Thanks! Yes, it is indeed a bit of searching and I can tell you that there is a kick, but I didn't use it because there was an annoying sound attached to it. To use it, I had to shorten the kick so much that it didn't sound good either. I then went looking for a piece of sample that I could use as a basis to make a kick myself. Though it isn't perfect, this is what you hear in the song.
I like this version best very nice man
Thanks Eric, I think so too. 😎👍
Perfectly fine if we’re just using the MPC to make the beats.
