After a few days I’m pretty sure I figured it out; both are sampling the original Sword Fights on the Heights theme. May the Heights Collapse is an obvious reference, and the entirety of Block Tales is about gathering the swords from SFOTH so it wouldn’t surprise me if more songs in its OST have this leitmotif and we just haven’t noticed.
