This has me curious if there is a similar light based option for sending a signal between optical front ends and the communicator. My thought here is with a square paneled drop ceiling like in offices such that each square would have an ofe points down in the office space to allow endpoint to connect, and it also has a light that points up into the dark space (drop ceiling space) to connect to the communicator.
