❤❤❤❤❤ Geronimo Rauch!! increíble
Who is the dude in the beginning? I know the rest. It isn’t alfie
is the full concert somewhere to watch?
Always love the way JOJ pronounces ‘you’ when he sings. So distinct.
JOJ ruled when he came in finally !!!!
I got to see JOJ in the 2019 concert version one night when Alfie Boe was out and I honestly think he’s my favorite (aside from Colm, obviously).
JOJ does the key change nicely, but I think it was originally arranged for Alfie Boe in the 25th Anniversary. He was ill for this performance and had to bow out.
Colm Wilkinson - almost as moving as Alfie Boe!
The actor behind Colm in the white dress is in awe when he sings for the first time. The greatest example of a song being written for the perfect person.
...✨and if you beat me, I wouldn't be able to say who I - ALWAYS - like to hear and see the most... ✨✨✨ JOJ with the voice that rises so high that you feel like she could touch the sky ... ✨... Jon Robyns, who I only really learned to appreciate a few years ago and, together with Bradley Jaden (as his Javert), was able to really show and hear what this gentle harmonic never sounds too violent and never too gentle voice...✨...yes and Colm Wilkenson ✨✨✨ I don't know a single word of praise and adoration that hasn't been written about the one, this one ✨ incredible Jean Valjean ✨, and yes, Everything is true, he is an icon ✨✨ ✨ ... depending on my mood, I like to listen to almost everyone, even those not mentioned here (yes, there are a few exceptions that don't seem harmonious to me, those I won't name it out of respect for the talent, hard work and courage that comes with being on a stage) but, as so often, I have to give my absolute ear & heart to One&Only 🎼🪢💕💞💓💖💝 - this voice, always - to my ears - is outstanding and whose acting is incredibly attractive and flexible - of course left here: because I always liked the 'BadBoys' better (even as a child? I also don't know what's wrong with me?) I would also like to point out that it's not the role that made me an absolute admirer, but I like the role of 'Javert' unusually well... it's really scary sometimes... ✨✨✨ my absolute No. 1, completely independent of the role, is 💖 Philip Quast 💖 not only the phenomenal performance for the 10th Anniversary (October 8, 1995, Royal Albert Hall, London) in which he is a Javert, who is the undisputed number 1 for me and also in all the videos of vocal coaches I have watched, other roles are also fascinating, as he has an excellent command of a relentless baritone but also a heartbreaking tenor... 💖💖💖 ... ✨ But back to the video and the Valjean's... (I'm German, so I'm already asking for your indulgence for my bad English, but I'm trying very hard) apart from the fact that Anglicisms now determine everyday German life, in my job I work with English programs every day and I have noticed that I almost always unintentionally write notes - I mean those with pen and paper - in English, I have to say here too: I don't have the German version of 'LesMiz' on the Seen on stage, but the audio of it... and even though it's my mother tongue, I think the English versions are much nicer and the flow of language just feels much more harmonious and expressive to me (as a German!)... ✨ to all the brave ones Readers who have stuck with this 'novel' up to this point (thx 🫶 but I can't make it any shorter, 👀👀👀 but no one HAS to read it to the end) - I would like to know who the 4th in the bunch is, I couldn't be sure find out what language it is, not French, but I'm still tinkering, just the singer, if someone knows who that is, then I would be very grateful if they leave the name... thx already and LG to everyone who has stuck with it up to this point have ✨✨✨
If you mean the younger man in a suit to the right of John Owen-Jones, he is the wonderful lyric tenor Argentinian actor/singer Gerónimo Rauch. He played Jean Valjean in Spain from 2010-2011 (Madrid), 2011-2012 (Barcelona) and 2012-2013, (West End, London), productions. He was singing in the Spanish language for the Spanish productions of "Los Miserables". He then performed in "Les Miserables", West End in English. He also played the role of Marius in LosMiz performing in Spanish in his hometown of Buenas Aires, Argentina, when he was in his early twenties. In this 30th anniversary celebration, he sings a few lines in Spanish, then resumes singing in English with his fellow Valjeans. You can see and hear many performances of Gerónimo Rauch here on his UA-cam channel "GeronimoRauchOK" and some more fan filmed performances on another UA-cam channel "AboutGeronimoRauch". Also, after his two years of performing Jean Valjean in the West End, he performed in "The Phantom of the Opera" as the Phantom for another two years before returning to Madrid to start a recording career. He has recorded two albums where he sings in both Spanish and English. He has continued to perform in musical theatrical productions primarily in Spain. Currently, he is in final rehearsals to play the Phantom/Fantasma in the Madrid production of "La Fantasma de la Opera". The show opens on 20 September 2023 and is scheduled to run through 10 December 2023.
@@hollijones-white506✨ Hey ✨ Hello HollyJones, that's really nice of you for making me a little wiser. The name also rang a bell. I think I've seen and heard him here before, but I really wouldn't have recognized him here. Sometimes a kind Thx and kind regards 🫶🫶🫶
Colm's rendition was on at least 2 levels higher than the rest. JOJ's voice was not pleasant to my ears.
😭
There’s a lot of comments about JOJ and Colm, but who are the other two men singing?
Jon Robyns is the Jean Valjean to the near right, next to Colm, in costume. Geronimo Rauch is the younger gentleman in the grey suit to the left, next to John Owen-Jones. Robyns played Jean Valjean from January, 2019 through March 2020, when the production shutdown during the pandemic. Then Robyns was recast as Valjean when Les Miz resumed in early 2021. He finished his Valjean run in February, 2023. Jon Robyns was announced as the latest phantom in the London based production starting in April, 2023. Gerónimo Rauch is a wonderful lyric tenor Argentinian actor/singer based in Spain now. He played Jean Valjean in Spain from 2010-2011 (Madrid), 2011-2012 (Barcelona) and 2012-2013, (West End, London), productions. He was singing in the Spanish language for the Spanish productions of "Los Miserables". He then performed as Jean Valjean in "Les Miserables", West End in English. After his two years of performing Jean Valjean in the West End, he performed in "The Phantom of the Opera" as the Phantom for another two years before returning to Madrid to start a recording career. He has continued to be cast in many Spanish language Spain based musicals including Sunset Boulevard, El Medico/The Physician, Los Puentes de Madison, and now again as the phantom in "El Fantasma de la Opera", a spanish language version currently in production in Madrid.
I just absolutely Love John Owen Jones…
i love that song Bring Him Home Simon Bowman -Jessica Jill Fahey
Who was the current valjean singing 2nd from the right ?
A bit ear piercing and in my opinion they don't blend well. CW also drowns the others out.
The 25th Anniversary version was so much better.
this is still one of the most beautiful songs ever written and forever will it stay that way.
Colm still sounds amazing!
4 or more Fantine would be epic
There was me thinking ‘I wonder if Colm can still hit the last note’ and he straight up does the higher harmony. GOAT.
Absolutely the GOAT. Legendary.
I want to say I heard that was the way HE always wanted it to end, but he got turned down. I'm glad to hear it "his way."
The sad part is that the lift that joj did he actually kinda stole from Alfie boe ,but i forgive joj
I don't think it does. JOJ (like CW) is a bit screechy when trying to reach the higher notes.
Colm is the GOAT but John Owen-Jones gives me goosebumps every time.
Love that whole change when he starts off matching the rest for a moment, and then smashes the 'umph' of the vocals up to 11. (I don't know the technical terms for all that.)
Joj blew the roof off And when he was done he turned and gave a big nod like; “Okay….I’m done …now u guys can come in now”
Colm Wilkinson is like a proud father when John Owen Jones starts singing around the 2 minute mark.
It's very sweet...
It's how they all look to Colm I think is brillant
Very bright!
Basically All the top stars know that JOJ is the best Valjean and The best Phantom, Colm can’t not contain his joy when JOJ sings, it’s such a travesty the way he is treated by Cameron Mackintosh, very sad.
Thank you!!!!! 🌻
Does colm wilkinson get treated badly?
When LM first came to Broadway years ago, Cameron insisted Colm be cast as JVJ, not an American as they wanted. That's that's not bad treatmentm@BringHimHome24601
Damn, my man Colm flexin' on 'em with that high third C#
I love the part where John Owen Jones starts singing and the camera shows the true delight on Colm Wilkinson’s face, he virtually applauds...now that is a joy to see..appreciation from another talented man.
Me too. I was going to say the same. He also does this in the Phantom Quartet one, too.
Me too!!!
Colm Wilkinson was also Andrew Lloyd Webber's choice for the first Phantom. He played the phantom until he was cast in Les Miz later that year, and the rest is history...
Count me in!
Colm is and always will be The Master and the OG Valjean. That said, JOJ is “my” Valjean. My husband flew us to NYC and got us third row seats the weekend before it closed in 2016. Met him after the show and bawled from the minute we arrived at the theater until we returned to the Waldorf-Astoria. I was a hot mess and he was absolutely sublime.
omg that last note sent me away and John is jbwbwjbwjbwbsdvbudvs
jajjaj yes!!! is ajajjcjajcjnj INCREIBLE!
My favourite is John Owen Jones, I do not dislike any of the others, however I cannot watch Colm as I feel his mouth is doing gymnastics...
Me: the hell is JOJ doing just standing there? 2:06 "YOU CAN TAAAAKKKKEEEE, YOU CAN GIIIVVVVEEEE....." Me: *dead
I understand you perfectly, goosebumps!
😂😂😂😂😂 so true ❤
Yep literal out of body experience. 😂
Oh my word, thank the lord for John Owen Jones - brilliant.
JOJ will always be my favorite
John Owen Jones is the best Valjean
Joj far superior to Alfie boe
Thank you for saying what I was thinking!
Colm Wilkinson is for me the best Valjean on the stage......... like ever. His voice touches the soul.
Best phantom too
Wasn't he marvelous there? Beautiful performance and probably the best he's sounded in a long while.
Gorgeous tenor!
Colm Wilkinson, John Owen Jones, Peter Karrie, Ramin Karimloo, Dave Willetts, Alfie Boe. My top6 with that order, and I've seen the show with more than 30 amazing performers.
So unbelievably stunning
Fabulous 😍😍
You can really tell that this song was written for Colm. What a legend
Colm is my favorite Jean Valjean. When it was on Bway. I got to see him several times.
@@garywolkowitz4508 that’s so cool!
John Owen Jones is 100% wonderful.
I got goose bumps when Colm started singing
Hard to beat Colm Wilkinson. But John Owen Jones voice is spectacular
Colm Wilkinson is around 75 yrs old in this, and he sounded the best of them all.
how old is he in 2020?
The Phantom Of The Opera 80
He was born in 1944, he was 71 in this video, and almost 76 now!
Doc Portland I remember the first time I watched Les mis with him on it I got soooo much goosebumps
Only because Alfie Boe wasn't there 😉
Seeing no Alfie Boe, I was worried at first. But then John Owen Jones stepped in... I'LL TAKE IT!!
Yeah he gave me goose bumps, It makes me proud knowing theres such good singers in the world
Personally I feel JOJ is superior to Alfie.
@@haydenkharrazi hmm idk bout that but everyone is entitled to their favorite
Oliver Delica Les Mis was written as a pop-opera or a poperetta as some may say. You can’t tell too much now with the huge, grand legit, orchestrations. But Allie is just WAAAAYYY to legit for this show. He’s great, but JOJ has that pop/legit tanner to his voice that the role requires. Same goes for Colm. He was a rock singer before he got into musicals and got his start as Judas in JCS.
@@haydenkharrazi wait pop opera?
Dreamy Profound, soul touching!!
John Owen Jones is a God
I also love his voice
also Colm Wilkinson
