They get $17000 per student per semester. Its all about the money.

What is the point of College Football then if you have to have these facilities to even be a contender. Recruits are really just unpaid mercenaries and the schools are just glorified city states. If Tennessee becomes #1 again it won't because of any strategy or practice regimen the school comes up with it will be because of this lavish facility. And imagine if your a player who gets cut or doesn't make it to the NFL. This facility would feel like a white elephant to them.

that is gonna be awesome!!!! maybe the extra space Fellowship has with the warehouse ,they could either add a youth activity center such as a gym or even gut out that extra part of the building and make it an indoor parking deck to provide extra parking in addition to the parking lot.

This is nothing compared to the medical facilities on that campus. It is an absolutely outstanding campus.

Wait a minute.... Did this just say "...coached by the best staff in college football" and later say "...Derek Dooley's practices will go on"? LMAO!!! Anyhoo... I'm an Alabama fan but I wanted to see what the enemy is doing. To all the people out there who see this and consider building such an expensive facility unnecessary, you're forgetting something : You simply must do things like this in today's college athletics because everyone else is doing it. Thus, you can't afford to fall behind if you wish to succeed. The days of only sinking this much capital into something so luxurious because you won a championship or got a lot of money from a generous donation- those days are over with. In today's SEC athletics you have to constantly try to stay ahead of the competition, because you had better believe someone is out there right now trying to stay ahead of everyone else too. In case you don't know this yet, Tennessee did this because Alabama, LSU, Florida, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Arkansas were all upgrading their facilities too. So if it makes you feel any better, just know that Tennessee did this because they couldn't afford not to.

I hope Clay Evans will live to see this. He is the founder.

I would not have put that much resources into one building dedicated to one sport. I would have extended that building to include all of the sports that Tennessee offers. It seems a bit of a waste to put so much money and sheer resources into one sport, no matter how much it is valued.

TN is 8th all time in wins but didn't start playing football until 12 years after Michigan. Hence the 100 or so win difference. Probably the case for all the teams in the top 10. It's easy to have more wins when you get a head start

The men's and women's basketball teams have their own facility called Pratt Pavilion. It was built 3 or 4 years ago.

Oregon's are about the same and Bama runs a close 3rd.
