we lived in california for 5 years during the mid 90's and i worked for PG&E in cupertino, ca., the deanza division yard.

i'm new to the show and a retired lineman from massachusetts, i will be listening in, looking forward to it.

I'm 33 yrs old out here in Cali and I'm on the process for local 11 but it's so lengthy. But then I did alot of research on lineman. And man. Yall are a bunch of bad asses. Now I'm trying to find a way to get into getting my CDL. I really wanna pursue being a lineman I know I'm a Little too old but hey. I wanna do everything I can to get a career for a stable future and not be like I am now with just a regular job.

Where do I find the complete podcast?

I'm now retired, but I worked as a Line Crew Groundman/Equipment Operator for 39 years. At the morning Jobsite Tail Board, the Foreman would give clear instruction as to the full scope of the job, how we were to proceed, and our particular assignments. That was normal for all our crews. None of our crew members ever had a serious accident. Communication saves lives.

I would like to know if you are hiring lineman apprentices ? I have completed 2 electrical apprenticeships and would to learn lineman work .

I can tell. Every lineman I've ever met was only ever going to be nothing more than what they are....a lineman. Lineman seem to have the world believing that it's the lineman who are king shit... DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!!! Sorry dont want to burst your balloon but Lineman wish they were substation guys and you know its true.. If your a lineman and you want to be a real badass...,ya better tell em, Study substation and prepare because inside the substation They dont tolerate the bullshit like they would on a fucking line crew... It just doesn't work that way in substation. Being on a Substation crew is the height of refinement. We can read a relay, then send the lineman to where the fault occurred however many miles down on the line.

Lineman are so wrapped up in linework that they are blind to what happens before they ever came along... Doubt any lineman would ever know just wtf I'm talking about. lineman act like they are the ones that bring us all electricity.... Don't make me laugh.. The truth hurts,, All lineman have ever done is get the line work done. They refuse to accept the facts. And that's all..they have nothing to do with the electricity itself. Nothing to do with generation substations.. Ask any lineman what a mho relay does... Ask any lineman what a dry max is... Ask any lineman who Karl Fischer was.. Ask any lineman who SDMyers is... They won't have a clue. Sorry if you don't like the truth..but They act like they are the real badasses...when its the substation guys that build and maintain the very equipment the electricity itself comes from. When I attended nlc 2 instructors about got their asses kicked for the shit that came out their mouth. Dont like my comment too fuckin bad bet ur just a lineman.

Hope that Sturgeon Electric are not as crooks in California as they are in Colorado. Ross Thompson, a lineman who got blamed for his own death when Sturgeon Fleet rigged the aerial device that ultimately failed and caused his death.
