    I did find this very helpful. I believe it would be more helpful if you would lower the camera angle so we can actually watch how you are working with the plant. Right now what you are doing is out of our sight.

      I have about 250 varieties of air plants I adore them! Mine all live inside. Mostly only in the East windows I spent the day preparing for winter coming and less light in the window. I moved all of my hanging plants to the table tops until spring has sprung once again next year.

      We are in Spring now and many are flowering after recent weeks of rain and storms. Most did well over winter which was an unusually warm and dry season for us this year. Many pups to remove soon though. Thanks for watching

      Seeds once dry can be stored in refrigerator in sealed container..and growing is easy..sprinkle seeds over cocopeat in a sealed container and keep moist ..further videos here show the process

    I've always grown straight onto sphagnum moss. It's not perfect but it is reliable. Whenever i try anything else i get problems with mould/funghi. I also find the same when i seal the container (sphagnum or not). Is there something I'm doing wrong? I live in SEQ.

      You need to ensure the mix used is sterile..heating in microwave for 1 min and allowing to cool is easy for small batches and then you can add antifungal solution to your water when misting..also be sure to spread dry seeds well so not too close..

    I was under the impression that pups were much smaller, almost just a bulb. Are they lush just because the mother plant is older?

    • @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223
      @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223 Рік тому

      these pups are from a larger type of Vriesea and I like to wait till warm weather to remove so they can be quite large depending on which vriesea they are being removed from.

Once month ago, i pollinated alleluya billbergia and also two months ago a neo sant valentine. More or less how much time i have to wait from the pollination until the extraction of seeds? Thank you Greetings from Spain😊

      Your welcome..hope you are inspired to go out and give it a try..winter is the best time to begin the process with Billbergia as many are flowering during the colder months.

  • @UncleDeadly
    @UncleDeadly Рік тому

    What sort of temperatures do Billbergia's need to germinate?

    • @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223
      @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223 Рік тому

      Best temperature is 22 degrees or above..can use heat pads in winter or starr them in an area that gets full summer sun all day. Night temps wont affect the growth if warm during day or you can start indoors on.a window sill that gets warm sun

    • @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223
      @amandasbromeliadsbasics4223 Рік тому

      Best over 20 degrees Celsius below germination is slower and requires a heatpad

    Thank you for your answer! Can we expect an update video about the tillandsia seedlings on the wood? I really hope so! I myself am now waiting for a tillandsia to have a seed pod, so that I can try to sow this too. Would tillandsia usneoides also get fertilized - I can't find any info about that anywhere. Flowering (green) is doing very well here at the moment . Greetings from Belgium!
