A very beautiful nature and video. Enjoy it.
What a wonderful view.... Thanks a lot....
You have finally found your true calling in life's journey. Money might be a bit slow in the beginning but don't be discouraged even if your hungry. The demand for lip sync artists is not huge but don't let that be a deterrent. You can do it!!!
😂😂😂 I will keep my day job 😎
You're great my friend 🎉. Congratulations...
"The tree behind me" is a Pukatea tree with its fluted roots and white bark. There are also some amazing Kahikatea remnants close to Te Kuiti. Glad to see you are proud of your local heritage. At Pureora Forest there are huge Kahikatea trees, like the original giants of the Waikato.
Thank you for sharing your experience😊great. Giving...receiving.....Helping others.❤ Where can I get a Real greenstone? Love and blessings From Austria/Europe😊
Look for greenstone products that have a certified New Zealand West Coast Pounamu stamp on them 😊
@@rachaelsadventures7441 thank you🩷
Yummy
your face is like cherry blossom gut smiling at all times
Given the: 1. Almost innumerable social media platforms on the internet, 2. Strong veil of anonymity that covers the offline aspects of peoples' life, which are the most important compared to the sparse and often unverifiable ones they project online, 3. The naturally disconnecting timezones out world is unfortunately split into, to name but a few instances, Meeting someone that's "on the same wavelength with you" is either a matter of sheer luck or unchangeable fate. And maintenance of such relationship or friendship that might unfold is a hell of a job!
I like it!!!
Many people on the internet exaggerate about theirselves. Many put up pictures that are 10-20 years old. I had a friend that would point out who the internet daters were when we would go to clubs. He would point out the awkward flow of the dating couple.
Such a waste of time if they really want to connect with someone and meet them face to face. Filters haven't got that sophisticated yet that they translate to real life : )
Excellent thinking! Looking back and having a journal as a resource must have been a very wide eye opener.
It certainly is, for good and bad : )
👍
👍
You got the name of the ship wrong. It was not the Wellington to Picton ferry. It was the Wahine travelling from Lyttleton to Wellington. I think that you should do some research.
A vegan version please?
🤤🤤
Both of peaceful😊
Wow 😲😳😲😳 Hahahaha
Man I love our little bats. Those and jeweled geckos!
How did you save that spider 🕷️
We took it outside and released it instead of killing it.
Beautiful setting. The background sound of the waves is so inviting. To top this lovely scene we get to see Rachael spinning and shirking her sadness. You are so good at what you do!!!
Hi Rachael. I am wondering if you could share some insight getting to the Kurşunlugerme Aqueduct? I will be in Turkey for a few weeks and plan on spending a few days around/near Edirne in the West and would like to add this to my itinerary. Any information you have that would make it a little more straight forward getting there would be incredibly helpful, as I haven't found much in my searching.
Hi there. Yes, I think my video is one of the only on this site on the internet. I had to research remote sensing academic articles to find the information for my voice over for this. It is very difficult to find. I was taken there on an adventure with a Turkish friend. He has never been there before either. We went down a no exit road that ended at a little house in the forest with a huge stone table on the grass. The old gentleman who lived there told my friend that we needed to follow a little track into the hazelnut forest. We walked about 15-20 minutes through the forest. You need to drive north West of Istanbul on the D020. Just after Gümüşpınar you need to turn right down a dirt road into the forest and keep driving until you get to the end. The road is rutted badly in places and our car dropped into a rut so watch out. It is about 1.5 hours from Istanbul.
I'm sorry but I' m not smart enough! I will hire an interpreter to get me through this one .
Please bring a pencil and paper pad. Sketch the birds as you hear them. Show your sketches at the end of the video. Thanking you in advance.
Early in the video exit there were some flyers. Bats or birds? Their wings seemed to be flapping like bat wings. Another excellent video. Do you ever see people walking around with metal detectors?
Those are welcome swallows catching Insects in the tunnel. I have a longer video of them to music instagram.com/reel/C1aur5ev418/?igsh=MXgwbGZid2VqbjJkOQ==
In some places in the country we see people with metal detectors but it is not that common. New Zealand metal history is not particularly old.
It Is Time You're flaunting your beautiful smile. It is time you thought this out. An envious NZ UA-camr might see your smile as an unfair advantage. Retribution would not be unreasonable. If you are standing around smiling, someone might find your smile irresistible and KISS YOU. You need to think it out. The kisser may not be someone that you want a kiss from!!!
Well the first thing I did was laugh out loud at this one. That is a new take on the simple act of smiling. By your supposition that my smile is a safety concern I would be in more danger just in daily life than from UA-camrs. However nobody has ever dared try. They would probably experience my death stare instead of a smile if they did : )
I like peaceful life vibe of you. this world is packed with sadness but i can be rely on Christ.
감사해요
Gosh, you did your best work. It was totally real unlike television where almost everything is setup. That location is a treasure, beautiful scenery everywhere. The little homemade gate, and the walkway bridge was also interesting . The horse hooves was entertainment for all ages . The eels bench was splendid. That bench photographed in black and white film could make a great poster. If that place has a gift shop, framed or unframed photos would make a wonderful souvenir. Those eels looked ex-large. I wonder if they got so big from people feeding them Take a few cans of cat food with you next time. You have a great laugh and beautiful smile which added a lot to this video. Is that private property? Could a hiker stay there a night? You owe it to yourself to feel very proud of this video!!!
Thank you for your comments : ) It is a private property and not open to the public. The wooden features are made by a gentleman who makes wooden toys and sells them at fairs around New Zealand. The eels are quite large but I have seen much bigger ones in some locations here. There used to be huge amounts of eels in the early 1900s but they got fished out sadly
Rachael- can you please us where in the Waikato this is. Is it open to the public for visiting?
Kia ora, this is the Yarndleys Bush near Te Awamutu. Yes it is open to the public. It is quite a short walk www.waikatonz.com/experiences/walking-hiking-trails/yarndley-s-bush/
Cool!
Wow! This is your best video so far. Loved it!
What a fantastic garden to visit. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Shame on you. You have killed the Weta. Back to the drawing board. Think elocution!
Part 2 The hard part - marketing The primary target is cruise ships that travel to NZ from other countries. If NZ doesn't have cruise ships mooring in NZ ports this kills cruise ships, but if they do and you want to do stories and poetry it's there for you and most of your work is already done. If you have flexible time and would like to pursue being a cruise ship entertainer, you will have to get very meticulous with your scheduling. You will need to contact the person that books entertainment. Get a mailing address and send them a DVD. Send them a poem and your Weta adventure . Emails are too easily deleted. You will have to quote them a price with transportation cost, to and from the ship. When making the DVD, don't show the Weta until the halfway mark or later. The painting will distract from the story. The cruise ship will want you because your poetry and stories are congruent with their cruise. You are a perfect fit. Your cost to them will be less than a band. I think they will offer you a booking sooner than you expect. They are always looking for fillers because of cancellations from entertainers. Your flexibility will be a key factor. Even if you just do this 1 or 2 times a year it will be worth it. You can take a person with you. Graeme won't mind gaining a few kilos. Going back to the painting: get 3 quotes from artists. Have them show you their work. The painting will be highly unusual. It will sell at some point in time. It would sell much quicker if it were smaller but wouldn't add the tremendous impact to your story. That painting along with your story telling is the knock-out punch .
The weta story clearly had a significant impact on you : ) Other people might not quite appreciate it like you. I cannot imagine telling stories in person. I am used to looking at a lens when I am by myself. Contrary to what I look like, I can be quite the introvert. Also I have never been attracted to cruise ships. We have many come to New Zealand. It sounds like being trapped in a floating town where I can't smell the trees. However I might be forced towards them with age and my loved ones not being able to keep up with me. The day job pays too much at present for your concept. However you never know the future. One day I might be looking for how I can travel the world on my wits. When that day comes - I will consider your idea : ) Thanks
Part 1 of 2 A Carrot, A Weta, and a Hand = "Money from Home"* You will need an old door with an empty core (not a solid wood door). Graeme will need to square a line above the door knob. Saw the door using the line as your guide. Remove the two sheets of wood covering the door and discard. The 3 remaining sticks will be joined by adding the stick at the bottom of the door. This rectangular box will be the stretcher bars for a large canvass. You probably are a painter (I saw paintings on your wall). A large Weta being hand fed a carrot will be the subject. The Weta must be a very large illustration. A Weta can be used from the internet. Select a very colorful one. If you choose not to paint the Weta yourself, take the canvass to a university and ask an art teacher to choose a student that would do a good job. Get a price quote of the painting done in oil paint. The painting needs to be signed with a brush and dated, year only. The signature should be painted in a color that blends with the painting. Get a receipt with signature and have the artist relinquish all reproduction rights and giving them to you. *A quote from Angelina Jolie's dad. 1969
Great entertaining story. You are such a good speaker. Thanks for another dangerous adventure.
I have never climbed that mountain in the snow and ice again : ) Ironically I now work in visitor safety and visitor management and this is one if the tracks I was working on 😂
😂You have it all wrong! Making illogical decisions is the path that I strive to stay on . Immature decisions when you know that consequences might bite you tomorrow. I live for today. Some folks are so mature that I know they have lived a boring, uneventful life. You have to go for it even though the road is unsafe. 😂
I make calculated risks : ) Go a little wild but not too much.
What month are these videos shot. Temperature? Is it expensive to rent a cabin. I'm really enjoying this gorgeous scenery. Thanks for sharing.
The two videos that I put together to make this were filmed a week apart. I was there for work and then a week later on holiday. The interesting thing in this location is the temperature can change dramatically when the weather comes from the north west. Before a storm it gets very warm with the wind going over these mountains that are 3000 metres and then the it changes, the temperature drops dramatically.
The temperature went from 20 to zero degrees Celsius. There is a range of prices for accommodation.
That was an eye opener poem. I am a big fan of your poetry. They need to be published. Even a homemade booklet would be good. You and your husband could travel around to poetry readings and sell some. Travel is expensive so this would be a supplemental income and you are so good at reading that you would surely sell some at each stop. If you sell a ton, please don't forget your biggest fan!
Thank you John. I have many more poems that I haven't put on UA-cam. Unfortunately poetry isn't something New Zealanders are really interested in. There is no market here. But I have been told by quite a few people I should publish. I just love the creative explosion and write my poems very quickly. It is cathartic : )
Rachael did you ever try kayaking in a swift flowing river?
I have never seen a river flow with that intensity. Is that melted snow? I'm not a kayaker but would have to try. That's my kind of thing that I would probably enjoy one time
It is not melt water. It is formed because of the narrow gorge with ignimbrite volcanic cliffs. I have not kayaked in such conditions. I am not an adrenaline junkie : ) I don't want to Bungie jump, skydive, white water kayak etc
Towards the end there was a bunch of cars parked. Where were the owners? Is it legal to ride a bike on this hiway? Is NZ bike friendly?
This video is Turkey, not New Zealand. The cars are parked so people can go to a famous tiny beach that became popular because it has often been photographed for Instagram. The road rules in Turkey are not adhered to so it was common to see motorcycles and all sorts of unusual vehicles in unusual places.
Very informative 👍
What a great story . My only disappointment was that you didn't catch 23. Are they edible? Great story, highly entertaining. I will probably think about those things for a few days .
Bear Grylls tried to eat a weta on his New Zealand adventure and it tasted very bad. He ate a common weta and these are endangered giant wetas so we don't want anyone eating them. I am glad I didn't catch 23 😂
Excellent
Excellent thinking on this dark side of humanity. The greatest leader in my lifetime was Dr. Martin Luther King. So sad that his battle against seregation is still being fought. It would probably help us all to sit down and write down our present day prejudices. Ten years down the road, might reveal a lot about our personal growth and the manipulation by people we thoght were leaders . Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. People that watch this video, many will do a self examination on some level.
Thank you. I think it is important to step back from our situations, our culture, our time in history and really observe what is going on and ourselves. We can be blinded very easily by rhetoric.
Cats are controlled by surgically fixing of their reproductive organs. This is much better than euthanasia. Populations slowly (years not months) decrease.
Possums are not able to be controlled via methods used on cats. Until there are better methods devised our only major option is poisons sadly
The whimsical world of Rachael. Thanks for letting us enter.
You're welcome : )
When you have a major fall, it's best to try and hit the ground running. 😮
Nice thought, but it doesn't always work in my experience : )
