@@sdanimation6152 I think you don’t have to do something. The boot partition is intact and you will see both OSes be there. The answer to your first question is that you have to shrink volume on your main disk on disk management and give at least 70-80 gb to your MacOS partition.

@@Realford.gaming NVMes have some errors on this type of installations. I would suggest you to use ssd or hdd instead .

@@AbdiPianoChannel yes it will. If you want to keep your windows os go to disk management and give a partition for macOS with at least 100gb. And then in disk utility choose to erase this specific partition to install on it the macOS.

@@Tuna-be5xq if it is nvidia I don’t think there is something you can do. The best you can do is to enable graphic acceleration to make your system smoother but again you won’t be able to use the graphics card.

@ I have a Dell latitude e5440 i3 and everything works as it is supposed to. Audio, brightness, volume keys, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, camera , microphone. The only thing that doesn’t work is trackpad, but I always use laptop with mouse so I don’t even care that it’s not working .

@ i think its not very usable with latest running laptops or just they are super suitable with table desk cpu.

@@CowboyTrucking61 I think the number one reason to still use it, is the macOS itself. If you don’t have money and you want to take a glimpse of macos or even try it before actually buy one , this is a pretty clever and cheap way to do it. Also the videos are pretty much the same because this way to install macOS is statistically the most successful one. Other ways might have some bugs where even the system is not booting or nothing works when booting for example keyboard,mouse, audio and others. I hope I answered to your questions. Thank you 🙏

@ when you boot system you have to press macOS option to go on if you click it then press space on keyboard it will default boot from that

@@NoahMinthy close your laptop and connect it via Ethernet cable . Finish the installation and after that you must find the right kexts for your Wi-Fi card .

@ there is. You can add the right kext while you are on windows but you have to use a tool called OCAT to sync the kexts with the config file.

@@NoahMinthy ofc you can There are two ways. The first one is to already have Windows installed so you give a partition of your hard drive to macOS to get installed there. The second way is to clean install macOS on a hard drive and after that using boot camp to install windows on your hard drive

@@predator417 if everything important works like it’s supposed to, I don’t see any reason why not to. I use big sur as my daily drive and it works pretty good. Also if you have system integrity protection (SIP) enabled you have the same security as the original macOS.

@@Mishaidk I couldn’t agree more with that statement. Linux is better than macOS Mojave but I can confirm that Big Sur on my laptop is better than Linux . It’s faster and runs smoother than any Linux distro I’ve used. And believe me I have tried almost all Linux Distros😂

Oh I didn’t see that it is an iMac. I thought it was a hackintosh. That said, I think that if you want to update further you will have to count on Opencore legacy patcher. If not you may risk the integrity of your system cause OCLP as it says patches the update to be able to installed on your system. I would not recommend to update through software update. I hope that this helped you.

@@moayadhamdy7966 if the EFI you downloaded has the right Wi-Fi kext for your pc then you will be fine. But if you see that there is no Wi-Fi in the top right corner then you will need to connect via Ethernet.

@@moviestamilian970 of course they will. They are two separated operating systems . I actually use this on daily basis and I haven’t noticed anything wrong.

@@ishuuu1428 yes it is possible to dual boot it with windows but you will have to install first macOS and then install a fresh Windows copy with windows boot camp assistant app.

@@Porfubbi_the_duck I guess you have a desktop that you wanna install Mac OS on it. In that case, most of times it’s just the ivy bridge. But you can experiment what fits the best for your hardware. But if you want my advice you should try first the big sur ver.

@@Porfubbi_the_duck not yet. First go to your BIOS settings and make sure you have AHCI on SATA OPERATION and enable PS2 compatibility if you haven’t done that. And if none of these work try the other EFI FOLDER, the one that says just ivy bridge.
