Since you like horror manga, I have to recommend "Abara" by Tsutomu Nihei. It's a dystopian sci-fi-body horror-bio punk story. It's about people in this oppressive technological story, and there's these freaky monsters called Gauna who fight with each other and are terrifying. There are lots of human characters too. It's very hard to summarize cause there's so much going on!

i really have to recommend, not a manga but a light novel, the mimosa confessions. really fantastic queer/trans representation, small town summer vibes, high school students coming of age/self discovery. i think you'd really like it! only one volume is out so far, but i believe it is set to have 5 :)

I feel like Stephen King only does well in his novellas. Dean Koontz is a good writer (only read 3 books) but sometimes he goes into too much detail for characters only for them to end up dead or irrelevant as soon as we learn so much about them. Is Yamamoto your first manga from Harada? They're known for their messed up manga and that story falls under that category (I enjoyed it lol). The Two Lions is one I read a few years ago and it is such a cute story. Non-explicit and the pacing is done well! I've been had the BL Anthology manga on pre order and can't wait to read it several days from now. Many of my fave mangakas are on it so I had to get it. Have you read or interested in reading Notes on an Execution? (unless I have yet to come across of a video of you talking about it) I finished it not too long ago and it is so good. I rented digitally from my local library. Also, have you read The Gay Who Turned Kaiju? If not, I feel like you would really enjoy it. I recently found your channel just yesterday and have been watching your videos. My identities and interests highly align with yours so I really enjoy and appreciate your channel, Sura!

We missed you during Eid, so I hope you had a good one! Gone to see the River man sounds incredibly interesting, I might have to check it out. I haven’t been reading much at all, I feel like I always have homework or work and I’m not good at listening to audio books so my reading has been very slow. I’m currently trying to get through The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman, and his writing has been very beautiful and he paints a really good mental picture for me. I just love his prose so I might check out more books from him after this one but my next book will be the Song of Achilles! I mostly read manga, but I’ve been wanting to write more so I really want to read more beautiful prose, so any recommendations are always welcome!
