From our engineering and commerce roots, today we specialise in 3D scanning solutions with Artec 3D, as their UK Gold Partner and been with them for over 14 years. Plus with 30+ years working with Roland DG on 3D milling and prototyping, we are here to help you. There are a few other complimentary hardware and software solutions that will help you to do more. Considering that not always is there a single solution to do everything, so this is where we offer a range of "Tools for the Creative".
Artec Studio 19 Photogrammetry Snowman
There is a lot of these Snowmen in our town, painted in many colours.
So we could not resist to take some photos and use Artec Studio 19 to make a 3D model.
Models is free on Sketchfab.

The Lino Men Sculpture is in Staines Upon Thames. We captured this with Artec Leo 3D scanner and processed the model in Artec Studio to illustrate the method of scanning a real object. Some sequences are speeded up. The 3D model can be seen on our Sketchup page.
Artec Leo Scanning Engine Manifold

This was a by chance meeting with these engineers working on an old diesel boat engine. The manifold was almost crumbling with corrosion, so needed capturing for future reference. Models are on Sketchfab to view.

Leo Southampton Hare
Переглядів 1552 роки тому
3D scanning a Southampton Hare There were many of these Hare’s in Winchester and Southampton, UK. So we thought to capture at least one, before they went off to the Charity Auction. Scanned in 6 minutes with Artec Leo and with Artec Studio processed in 10 minutes for the Autopilot Fusion, then 5 to 10 minutes to finish off and upload to Artec Cloud. For ten weeks in 2022, Winchester and Southam...

Artec EVA Fiat engine compartment scan
What would be the best way to integrate this with other scanners' workflow, like with an eva ?
its great and id love one, but £35k. its just too much for a non enterprise company.
BS, not real
Do we need Z0 sensor if the rotary axis is attached ?
How does this autorotate and mill on the back?
How do I download the scan from SKetchfab? I want to learn form in F360 and this file is perfect :)
Is it possible to convert scanned output in to an editable 3D model? (Such as solidworks)
With with some tools inside Artec Studio, or with Mesh2Surface SolidWorks Plugin www.patrick-thorn.co.uk/mesh2surface/
What material is that?
Blue high density insulation foam, great for quick models and cheap from building merchants
Thank's
thanks for the video. Is the Eva lite same in geometry detail as the standard Eva? I don't need textures just the geo.. thank you for your time. :)
If you just scan geometry rich shapes, like the face, then EVA Lite is perfect. If you were to scan larger areas with limited geometry, say a large map on a flat wall, then the Texture tracking on EVA will do this. You can alway update from EVA Lite to full EVA with HD and texture tracking should you need it in the future.
audio too low

how much can this 3d scanner cost
Does machining aluminum damage the end mill?
Precio de equipo en pesos colombianos o dólares
I thought this machine didn't cut metal
Upto Aluminium and Brass
Hallo I am an Poor Student and i am doing my Bachelor. How I can Change the .stl File to .part file ?
You need to import STL to Solidworks and reverse engineer using the STL, there are limited tools in SW (ScanTo3D) or a third party plugin like Mesh2Surface.com. Hope this helps.
may I know which type or grade of aluminum block you using for this milling machine?
6061
Very cool! Do you by any chance have the file available for download? My son has a 3D printer and I'd love to have a model of it.
lol thats a terrible scan cmon
What is the program that you use?
where can i find the latest MUS software for download?
Great use of bringing technology into a cemetery for capturing funerary art! I'm definitely going to look into this for my own personal work in local cemeteries.
Jeffrey Houser Glad you found it useful!
@@PatrickThorn I did review the Artec EVA, a little bit much for me to personally purchase but I am considering renting one for a few days to take on some specific scanning projects. Have you got any suggestions in regards to scanning gravestones, such as preferred ambient light, cleanliness of stone, etc?
@@jeffreyjhouser The stones are as you see. We respected what they are and didn't do anything to them. Just avoid scanning into the sun as that does not help at all. Also its amazing to see old text of really discoloured stones when you turn off the colour texture. You can see the results here. sketchfab.com/patrickthorn/models
Unfortunately there are no magic X-ray type features in the Artec scanners, they need to see the actual objects.
After you scan the object and create a 3D model on the computer, can you reverse engineer the object, like a piece of wooden furniture, dresser, bed, etc?
Did the specs finally get finalized is it 0.25mm or 0.5mm resolution?
Blank 0.5mm. Latest spec here. www.artec3d.com/portable-3d-scanners/artec-leo#specifications
@@PatrickThorn damn is that actually confirmed on your model though? (site still says under construction) I hope I can refund if it doesn't work for me.... I bought from a dealer when they had had an older spec sheet with a 0.25mm spec. Noticed the 0.5mm a few months after ordering. Changing such an important spec like that isn't cool of artec.
Awesome! %) Thank you Patrick!
Looks impressive!
When working with an optical scanner, a problem arose-it does not remove the edge of a thin part, the overall size is hard to catch. How did you solve this problem?
Анатолий Булышко thank you for your comment. Yes sharp edges can be difficult. Depending on the size of part we choose between Artec EVA and Space Spider which is great for sharp and thin features. You can see this in our other videos. 😊
@@PatrickThorn thanks for the reply)

Hello 1pis India Delhi 8950671950 kunwarpal8950@mail.com
If you scan the hood, fender and front bunper, will the software give you exact measurements on how big the scan was for each scan?
What material are you machining? I'd like to see that in Delrin.
I think its corian
yellow foam
Patrick, are you happy with the results of this scanner? Does it meet the 0.5 mm accuracy advertised?
Greg Barnhouse All Good. Distance accuracy 0.03% over 100 cm Are you looking to get one Contact us on our website
@@PatrickThorn Hello, I have artec Eva with studio 12, and have measure error 5mm for 900mm,what I do wrong?)
Did those models all come out of a single scan?
Yes 1 for the front, 1 for the rear. What you see is the PC screen in real time fusion with Artec Studio. To do them all you need a scan for front l+R, rear L+R and the rear tailgate area.
Are you allowed to share that scan data?
