Genuinely curious, Toboggan Chute crosses the mountain quite horizontally, is it flatter than a regular green like Beck Brook?
@@Ian-mv4qq yes definitely flatter
@matthewschmid565 Thanks! So would it be safe enough for a first timer?
Yeah most likely, I’d say take a few runs down the bunny slope first though. Because it is a narrow trail so you will probably need to know how to do a pizza and slow yourself down first
Thanks for the vid! helps me to know what the trails are like where I’m headed.
No problem
This was painful to watch. Probably should get outta the woods if your not a good skier and maybe shut off the gopro and focus on getting better
Does Stowe ever let bumps build up on this trail ?
I've skied these before with less snow! Yeah very tight with some big drops. Definitely needs to fill in plenty to make it manageable
Just too tight, not manageable enough to be fun
ha, ive lived and skied here since 88, and have never skied toll rd the whole way. Lift is almost always closed and you have to take the shuttle back. That was wild. Maybe someday ill do it.
Its a fun scenic run. Not worth it though unless you park down by there
Why you ski wo poles?
Just never got into them as a kid so still don’t use them
Something beautiful about those narrow flowing Vermont trails. Like floating down a clean stream in an inner tube.
Have check this place out. I wish they were open weekdays
@@mbtravel7294 only weekends kind of sucks, but you can rent the mountain out if you really want
How can it be the same blue snowboarder on the side of the trail checking his phone over and over??
Lmao
@@matthewschmid565 I'm glad somebody else noticed... thought I was hallucinating again!!
This video brings back memories - good and mixed from 1999!
so flat they might as well pave it
kinda like yo momma
That was lift line from the top
Yeah it was lifeline into national, upper national was closed.
Yeah. They do that. And the upper part is the real legit steep part
You gotta go from the top, that’s the steepest part! That’s a sweet run!
The top was closed, took S-53 to get to that part
@@matthewschmid565 Yeah, stowe does that, the steepest part of National is the top as well, and they close it. There a lot of videos on that one as well where they enter through the drop in.
Most of the steep stuff will remain closed. While I was there the steepest trail they had open was bypass
use poles
use some poles
5:22 "Alright, are you ready to go real fast?!"
Yessir
Good grief
That's nuts. Also, when you speed up the GoPro it sounds like a round of Lemmings :)
Lol, thanks
Watch the shadows, pretty lame, missed the top, tourist I guess, didn’t ski it, survived
Well thanks, too wasn’t up so took s53, I skied it just stopped a lot cuz I skied for the past 6 straight days but thanks
beautiful baby moguls with plenty of powdery goodness. park city trip seems to be a winner for ya!
Yeah it was pretty sick
penguins not made to waddle uphill. 😆
Good run, Standard. Nicely done.
Thanks
I’m sure that slope closed the day after 😅
Lol, it’s still open. East just got hammered with a storm.
This is like my favorite lift of all time
Nope. Didn't happen. 62.7mph?......LOL........................NOT. Elevator Shaft at Kirkwood 1994. They set up a speed trap. You signed the waiver and pointed them. I got 57mph through the trap. This is NOT 63mph.Doesn't matter what the data says or what you try and tell yourself, it didn't happen.
Thanks old timer but skis have advanced in the past 30 years and this is pretty possible. Idk if it was 63 but it was up there
Maybe 63kph? That would be more believable at around 40mph. What length skis were you on? Maybe you should enlighten us as to what skis you were on? The advancements you speak of are in turning capabilities , maybe not so much straight line speed. Mine were 198's so built to go fast. As a matter of fact they were Dynastar and the model was ScaryFast. They were long straight and scary fast if you let them run. Might be old but still faster then you.😀@@matthewschmid565
Wow thanks for ur enlightenment, they’re 168 nordics navigators. They can rip pretty fast, believe me I’ve pushed em. And idk if u didn’t watch the whole video or smth but I straightlined the whole second half of that run, but thanks for ur enlightenment old timer
These people saying "NO WAY THAT WAS 63!!!" probably haven't broken 20 on a blue since the 90s
Agreed
Those trees look so soft and comfy..
All I was thinking on this run was, “if I catch an edge, how bad will that be”
LoL 63mph. Not a chance. Your app was glitching. If ya wanna go fast, then find something steeper, practice a tight tuck, and point them. Head over to Snowbasin and try running Grizzly. Wildflower at Snowbasin is super fast too. Lead Foot, a Blue-run intermediate, just isn't steep enough to go hyper-speed. But, glad you're out making turns. Right on!
I mean I did tuck and what not, I don’t truly believe that I was going 63 but based off of when the app tells me I’m going 40-50 this felt like 60
@@matthewschmid565 I saw your tuck in the shadow. ;) Hands on knees isn't exactly the best position, but it's a start. When in a proper tight tuck, your chest is almost touching your knees. It burns the quads! Going fast is fun. And when ya really get going super fast, the skis make this weird almost vacuum whoosh sound. I've skied all over the east, but moved out to Utah to make Snowbird my home mountain. Park City is cool, but in Utah, check out Snowbird, Alta, and Solitude for steeps, Deer Valley for groomers, Snowbasin for the 2002 Olympic Downhill runs, and Powder Mtn is probably one of the best kept secrets. Powder is HUGE! If you go exploring Powder Mtn you can still get fresh tracks a week after a storm. Best wishes. Have fun on the Greatest Snow on Earth!
Yeah I’m no racer, also my 4th straight day of skiing on this trip so wasn’t exactly looking to burn out the quads lol. I ski the east but I’ve been out west twice and it’s pretty sick. Wasn’t able to make it to any where else in Utah but PC, hopefully next year if I go IKON
Way cool. Glad ya got to experience some of 'Ski Utah!' Be well and have fun!
Thanks you too
Think your app is incorrect or you mixed up km/h an mph. No chance in hell you could do 100 km/h without race skies and ski poles. Slope’s not steep enough either.
Nah it says 62.7 mph, go pro effect might not show the steepness of the trail. Based off of when the app tells me I go 40 or 50 this felt 60
63 mph is fast 😮. What’s the fastest you have ever skiied
62.7 which is on this run
'PromoSM' 😣
Probably the most crowded run in Utah
How much did you pay for Skipass? I just got back from Italy and full-day skiing costs around 70 euro
It depends if your paying for a day pass, prices can run up and over 200 dollars but if you buy a pass that will cost around 700 and it’s honestly worth it if you go a couple times
Fresh groom marks are so satisfying
Nice Vidoe
Easiest diamond on the mountain but it’s still fun
Eh, it’s short but I don’t know if I’d say it’s the easiest diamond. I would say nosedive or Main Street over at spruce peak are a big easier
@@matthewschmid565 now I’m remembering, when I did it it had just gotten snow so there weren’t really “moguls” per se, just a little lumpy. It’s not steep, it’s the moguls that make it hard. That would explain why I thought it was easier. Main Street headwall is pretty easy, so I get your point
Yeah it also has a few small cliffs and obstacles as well, they’re easily avoidable but for someone who’s not a great skier, the groomed blacks are easier.
When was the last time it snowed when you shot this vid?
There was a pretty big snowstorm about a week before and an inch or dusting here or there days before
Nice run 🔥
No poles? Camera doesn’t do this justice. Did 94 turns for the first time and that run is so steep
Yep, I’m a no poles guy, the flailing arms weren’t me ab to fall every turn lol. Everything off here is pretty gnarly and steep
Running slow for wind?
Yeah a little slower
Blue cruisers are so chill
Hey I was looking at coming to park city and skiing mid April time how is the snow holding up? Do you think a trip then is feasible with the current conditions? April 11-16
I live on the east coast and my trip was end of February. From what I’ve heard it’s been a great March up there so far, but I really can’t say how it’s going to be in mid April
Such a beautiful scenery my friend!
Epic run
Nice vid keep it ip
Thanks
so tight. if i go to there i will die
Stowe has some of the hardest and tightest glades anywhere
Insane!
I believe that's the upper part of the Tres Amigos Glades. Think you went in too early. There's a lower entry by the rest real pitch of Hayride. Those glades are my favorite on the mountain.
I was actually trying to get over to lookout which was closed from the top but had some fresh tracks on it. I should’ve just taken S-53 but I’m an idiot and I thought I would be able to traverse through the top of these trees. Tres Amigos is a bit lower down where it opens up more. Where I was, was unmarked and tight as shit. I do not recommend it. Tres amigos is fun though I got to ski that earlier that day.
@@matthewschmid565 Yeah, that did not look very fun. If you cut all the way across Tres Amigos it will bring you to Lookout.
Yeah at the top section I thought I could but it was far too tight and there was no space for me to cut across with the down trees as well. When I got lower on it, it opens up a little more and I was able to cut across to lookout
I love how resorts on the east coast copy names of trails/slopes from places out west
Lol not wrong, the trails usually harder in the east to be honest. I’m trying to think but which mountain in the east has a trail named east face?
@@matthewschmid565 There is no trail named east face that I know of but it did remind me of North Face at Seven Springs which they copied off of one of the Colorado resorts. The locals also call skiiers right of the North Face slope East Face. They also copied other trails/slopes such as Lost Boy, Giant Steps, Stowe (after a Vermont resort), and Tyrol
Oh sick, thanks for the info
