Rain. It’s marked the start to the paddling season this year across the Boundary Waters. There was so much rain, in fact, that many portages and waterways across the BWCA flooded in late June. Roads near the Boundary Waters, from the Echo Trail to Highway 61, also flooded and were damaged by the heavy rain. In one area of the BWCA, a community formed at the Mudro Entry Point. A tent village, as...

The storm wasn't the worst part of it for us it was the exit back up the moose river with all the flood waters. Everything was fine for us till we got up Thursday morning and the water rose 3 foot over night. We knew we had an issue. Packed up and headed out all the protages qhere flooded out so we had to trek through the woods around them to make our exit. Words will never decribe what we experienced to get out of there. It was the thing nightmares where made from. I love the bwca but I don't think I will ever be able to go back to ep16 again
