I’m not disagreeing with the meaning of the passage. But after this pastor tells you to read it for yourself he literally adds words to the text that aren’t there when you read it for yourself. Nowhere does it say it’s saddens me in Matthew 7 13-14. The Bible does not provide context of whether Jesus was saying the solemnly that is something he added. This is more often than not with people who believe in sola scriptura do tell you to read it for yourself and then blatantly add words and context that’s not there.

Halloween, it is based on the Pagan New year and was a Pagan holiday way before Christianity was even a religion.(by thousands of years) Christian holidays coincide with pagan holidays for a reason, it was to aid in the conversion to Christianity by the church, do your research.
