    I'm curious how you plugged the hole of your pot.

    • @JennifersHomeJournal
      @JennifersHomeJournal 19 днів тому

      It actually had a plastic removable plug in it that I never removed as I have always used it as a catchpo. For pots that I turn into planters (see my DIY fountain video ua-cam.com/video/voZhtF9MsB8/v-deo.html) I usually use an epoxy putty. WaterWeld makes one as does ACE Hardware and Gorilla. I would think you could use that to plug a hole in any pot.

    Very beautiful garden, look from the street into the front of ur home is not much to see. It was just an ordinary front yard,but when you gave me a tour around ur property and in the back yard, o boy it full of surprises. It’s a lot of mysteries. This is the type of creation that I would love to do with my space. Love ❤️ it. Thanks for the tour and sharing ur personal space with me.

      You are very welcome, and thanks for your kind words. I am writing another post now to be published next week about shape. My goal at JHJ is to help each of us envision possibilities for our own spaces. I am not an expert at any of this...I am completely someone who believes in learning by doing so I hang out with people who know more than I do, virtually and in life. I hope you'll hang out with me as you work through your possiblities!

      @@JennifersHomeJournal I am 61 and live in Kentucky. Our climate is humid sub tropical with lots of rain. It is a real strain on me physically to do the mowing and weed eating. I have been cleaning out a lot of brush/thicket, poison ivy. I want an easy to maintain garden as I age. I have planted a lot of fruit shrubs, etc. much to go.

      @@mimishope3266 Then we are similar. I am 66 and live in SC where it is sub tropical with lots of rain punctuated by drought. Sounds like your space is bigger than mine, but many of the same concerns about making it space you can enjoy rather than one where if you look the other way, the grass grows up to your knees and the vines grab your ankles! Good luck! Keep me posted. I'd love for you to check out my website sometime...jennifershomejournal.com Wishing you well!

    I have seen in other videos that as the snake progresses around the bottom, that they rotate the lid so that the top vent holes are above the new burning charcoal to provide a better draft to help keep the snake keep burning.... For a long burn (Bigger Snake) you can adjust vent location every hour or so...

    • @JennifersHomeJournal
      @JennifersHomeJournal 2 місяці тому

      I wondered about this as well, and I think that probably makes sense for a longer cook. I asked Bob about why he had the lid positioned the way he did and he indicated that he was trying to pull the smoke across the food. Since he was only smoking for 3 or so hours, I don't think he was concerned about keeping a bigger snake burning. But good to know. Thanks for your comment. -J.
