Can you explaing the "jigging action" are you literally whipping the rod up and down?
Dang! This a good question! I’ll try my best to answer! There is a few ways to action the rod my favorites are an upwards jig and low jig. For the upwards action imagine holding your rod at a 70 degree angle infront of you and while your reeling in you are “popping” the rod up to a 90 degree position back and forth which with cause the surface bubble to splash which means you are doing it right. The low jig is keeping the butt of your rod tucked under your arm pit and having the nose of your rod pointed down and outward and using a push down motion towards you and popping the bubble that way with tension while reeling at the same time. If you are throwing a large bubble you can practice keeping the rod at the 70 degree position and doing a fast retrieval with your reel that will cause the bubble to splash as well. I really appreciate this comment and I’m going to film a video on how to action the jigging better! Visually it will be a lot easier to understand.
Would be nice if you mention your whipping rig or dunking rig right by the start of your casting, it will help beginners and more subscribers
Thanks for watching 🤙🏻 I have a beginner friendly video I posted before this one going over my whipping rig. I don’t dunk and run the same set up most of the time. I would recommend medium action rod 10-11ft and rated up to at least 3oz lure rating. I’m a big fan of a 5K size reel paired with 20lb braid. My current set up is a 10ft medium action Okuma Rockaway rod paired with a 5K Shimano Stradic 20lb braid. I always throw the large bubble. I appreciate your feedback 🤙🏻

Why is fishing on oahu tougher than the other islands?
@@TRAILDWELLERMTB I personally feel that the shorelines are over fished and people don’t throw back the undersized catches. With Oahu being the most populated island out of the Hawaii chain and having one of the largest recreational fishing communities it tends to show with the number of fishes caught and actually released. Which makes it even tougher fishing on Oahu.

Exactly what I've been looking for! Been living on Oahu for three weeks now and only caught about five whipping. Great video man!
Glad I could help! Another thing I forgot to mention is always check your leader line for knots. When throwing, the line could pretzel up and cause a knot that could snap when a fighting a fish. Also always check your braid! Let me know how everything goes! Thanks for watching

@@WhippingHawaii same here,
@@WhippingHawaii what’s the trick to using the bubble? I can’t seem to figure it out. I like to use it but I never have any luck with it (I’m 13 and relitivley new to fishing)
@@coltonlindsay1774 make sure you have the appropriate size bubble for your current rod and reel setup. What I mean by that is you don't want too small or too large of a bubble. What is your current set up? I run a medium size bubble on my light set up and a large bubble on my heavier set up. The bubble when used correctly is to imitate something feeding or causing commotion. When reeling in your bubble try to make splashes at the surface by either having your fishing rod at a upright position and jigging the rod on occasion when reeling in. You can also make splashes by doing a downward jig causing the bubble to splash on the surface with every jig. All the bubble is dealing doing is causing splashing at the surface to attract predator fishing. Once the predator fish is curious and check out the bubble they can sometimes hit the bubble but most times see what’s behind it such as your grub or fly. I hope that helps!
@@WhippingHawaii thanks man I appreciate it. I knew smth about how it is supposed to get fishes attention but I wasn’t so sure on how to do it. Have a great rest of your week and good luck fishing 🤙
