I appreciate your opinion and thank you for explaining this point of view. I agree 100% with changing the football team to Washington Commanders. I see your point about video games that simulate colonialism, it's definitely food for thought. I'm on the fence on regarding the term Tribal, because I've adopted changes to my language only to discover later on that the original term wasn't offensive. In school and all the way through college I was educated to not use the term "Indian" but instead to use other terms such as "indigenous people", "first nations," or "Native Americans" (depending on who you ask, and which grade level I was in). When I was volunteering on a service trip to repair roofs in a native community, they all used the term "Indian" to refer to themselves, much to my surprise. The local casino near my town uses the term "Tribe of Indians" in giant letters to self-identify and that's a brand new shiny building. I interviewed people for a college project and all native people except for one used the term, "Indian." When they said Indian, it was just the preferred word. I still use the term "Native American" and "Indigenous People" because most folks have been taught using textbooks that use those terms and I want to come across as educated, compassionate, and tolerant. But when Indians are saying Indian I'm saying Indian too, depending on the context. I find my own behavior around this ironic. I agree it's generally good to avoid offending people. I also believe it's good to tackle it from another angle: I want to avoid creating offense that comes from creating negative connotations. Teaching people to be hurt by words that used to be neutral, is creating offense that didn't need to exist. Once the language is transformed we are right where we started with no progress made and a bit of heartache in the middle. AND, who's to say that new term might someday become the newly offensive term? Since all skin tones and ethnicities have tribes in their family histories, I'm cautious about assigning a negative connotation to it. And, to add to that, I wouldn't want to assign a negative connotation to something that was unique to a culture as well. So either way. Plus, we're using the word Tribal to refer to things we like. So I'll keep thinking about it. I'm not saying I'll never change. I just can't help asking: is this catching on because it will really help or because as a society we want the sensation of progress and this satisfies that need?

Okay where to begin on this. Firstly, the term tribe is used mainly to describe a group of people that are less than a nation but more than a familial clan or kinship. The mainstream thought of the term is usually associated with primordial culture and governance that are considered below what is considered civilizations and states. The term has negative connotations mainly in anthropology due to fluidity of groups that can be described as a tribe such as having a similiar or same culture and beliefs but having a different language or leadership structure as an example. Anthropology has also backed away from the term not because of race or cultural appropriation, but more on the negative perceptions of colonialism. Now in regards to fantasy, the term tribe is harmless. As you, yourself have said, it is used as a term to group fantasy races that in many cases share a trait but, in the case of mtg, are from different planes such as vampires. Vampires are in mtg are usually undead that subsist on the blood or lifeforce of other beings but can have different different origin stories such as the Innistrad vampires, Zendikar Vampires, Ixalan vampires, Dominarian vampires and Kaladesh Vampires. As far as people are concerned, using the term tribe is all about context. IRL, yeah it's outdated. In fantasy, harmless since it's referring to fantasy groups.

Tribe is simply a European invention by the Romans to tally who the populations family ties go too and was adopted by basically all of Europe to describe themselves even if they tried to cease to. Things like Scits, English, French are basically just Tribal groups themselves. Most of the world developed a similar terminology because its very convenient when differences two people who have different traditions, beliefs, and life styles within close proximity to each other.

It's a good take. Appropriation is problematic. Start small. Little things matter.

Tribalism is a phase in societal development. It isn't a term that is owned by any race. There were viking tribes, Gaelic tribes, Maori tribes etc. People that claim it is being used in a racist or derogatory way when talking about mtg creature types are completely ignorant of how context works and are just farming indignation for the purpose of self aggrandizement and should be ridiculed and ignored.

I dont think we should also use the word "Black" for mana, It should be purple. It feels like that people are saying they are attacking ME when they say "all black creatures" or "Destroy target black creature." It doesnt help that I play Mono Black- or should I say, Mono Purple. Yeah, no. I could not disagree with this more. To be honest, anyone offended by using the word "tribal" needs to grow some thicker skin. Tribe: noun: a social division in a traditional society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader. The word is just fine. This is nothing but "political correctness" taken to a hyperbolic level. Hard pass.
