In principle you are correct. However, you need to start earlier in you search to refrain from sin. You(the christian) needs to study the Bible for what it is. It is NOT a tool for the church. Meaning... The Father’s Name is NOT “Lord” and neither is the Messiah’s Name Jesus. Lord means “Ba’al” and Jesus means “hail Zeus”. SO you are calling the Father YHWH/Yahuah, and the Son Yahusha by the names of pagan deities. Breaking the 1st three commands. You done away with the Sabbath, and breaking the 4th command! Just for being christian, you break every command applicable to the Father and Son! That is why the church teaches you, you are all sinners, because just for being christian, walking in the church theology, you sin. Here is the problem for the christian, being led astray by their pastors and priests: Jer 50:6 “My people have been wandering sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place. The outcome is, that the devil can legally attack those who sin against Yahuah! Jer 50:7 “All who found them have devoured them. And their adversaries have said, ‘We are not guilty, because they have sinned against יהוה, the Home of righteousness, and the Expectation of their fathers: יהוה.’ We are cleansed from sin in our obedience! 1Pe 1:22 Now that you have cleansed your lives in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another fervently with a clean heart, And we are saved by our obedience: Heb 5:9 And having been perfected, He became the Causer of everlasting deliverance to all those obeying Him, The Gospel message is NOT that we are saved sinners. Jesus is NOT the license for sinning. THe true Gospel message, is that our Messiah Yahusha, has come to set us free from the bondage of slavery to sin and death. We don’t need to sin anymore! Rom 6:1 What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin, to let favour increase? Rom 6:2 Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? HalleluYAH!!!

Yes, Abraham (Abram at the time) submitted an honorarium to Melchizedek that amounted to 10% of war spoils from the King's battle in exchange for bread & wine. He also gave the rest of those items away and there's no biblical evidence he ever "tithed" again. Jacob made a conditional offer to tithe if God provided for him as he had envisioned. There's no biblical evidence he ever did so and his conditional offer serves as evidence that no God-required tithing existed at that time. All biblical systematic (required) tithing occurred under Mosaic Law and only consumable items such from the tithe of the land and the tithe of the herd (Leviticus 27:30-32) were accepted as a tithe deliverable. So the argument seems to be whether today's version of tithing is a universal, biblical mandate or not. It isn't. There's no biblical precedent for tithing from earned wages to a religious institution but there's nothing wrong with choosing to do so per one's discretion. Yes, giving is front and center in the Christian worldview. But we're free to give, not bound to pay.

But what if an unclean spirit enters instead of the holy spirit?

    • @renewingtheheart

If you have an unclean spirit in you, you do not have the Holy Spirit. That being the case, you have another problem that requires exorcism.
