Why on earth would you put someone in head first for a lumbar MRI when it can be done feet first?

I have also seen where you can go in feet first and your head is not in the MRI but rest of your body is on TV, pics, on UA-cam etc

I have a very arched spine - it's very uncomfortable for me to lie on my back. Should I have a cushion under my knees?...

My technician did not tape my feet. I had to hold them together, and my inner thighs were hurting the entire time!

I just had this done and it was very unpleasant. My hand/wrist felt like it was being crushed in a vice. My arm went numb etc. There needs to be a better way to perform this procedure. The little foam ear plugs did not work very well. A headset with music would have helped.

Thank you for all your efforts to educate on positioning, however, the patient's palm in this video is not facing up in the gantry but hand is lateral

This is very good and practically useful. There are different MRI machines with compliments of unique coils but the positioning is standard. It will be appreciated by all concerned if you can do positioning other parts of the body that may be scanned. Thanks
