Founded in 1981 under NUS Centre For the Arts, NUS Harmonica Orchestra (NUSHO), the one and only Harmonica Orchestra in Singapore, integrates the unique sound of harmonica family with the harmony of various instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, cello, percussions, producing an exquisite and rich nuance within all its performances. NUSHO keeps exploring the possibilities for harmonica music under the direction of its residential conductor music director Ms Josephine Koh.
Besides the annual performances, NUSHO has also been involved in local concert tours to myriad of countries including Thailand, China, Malaysia, Germany, Switzerland, Japan and Italy.
In the 9th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival (APHF) which took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2012, NUSHO did exceptionally well and received 2 Gold Awards in the orchestra category, It also gets a Champion in ensemble groups and 4 Gold in the solo category, and various awards in other categories.

Fantastic - but being as it was a harmonica orchestra, it would have been better if the cello had been replaced with a bass harmonica. Just my opinion - others may feel differently.
