Music and art. I post videos of my many musical activities (pedagogy, exercises, hot-to-play, and performances) as well as my extensive volumes of original surrealist line drawings. No politics. Every now and then there some music you might hear in church, but otherwise no religion either.

Juggling

Just a little juggling with the weighted spheres. Clears the head, wakes you up better than coffee, improves hand-eye coordination. Years ago, my piano teacher told me that juggling would improve my sight-reading.
Blue Jays in the Snow
Переглядів 128 місяців тому
Some time ago, I placed some peanuts on the hand rail to see if I could lure a squirrel or two in for a picture or cool video. Instead, in swooped a pair of Blue Jays (which are technically "Stellar Jays, but they are definitely blue) and took them. So, now, I place some peanuts outside and in only a few minutes, they appear. I don't don't know if they are the same Blue Jays or not, but I think...

Quiet Snow 2

When the snow begins to fall, the ambient sounds of the area fade to silence. That's one of the most enjoyable parts of snowy weather; the silence.

Turning the ignition switch on my 76 MGB
I just know that pipe organ probably has insane acoustics.
It looks cool i which i was there and have good day
It look windy outside and stormy, i hope u have a great day of summer
I have my trumpet students do this all the time. They love it. Using the shank end of the mouthpiece (as you would a straw) in the mouth trains the buccinator muscles without really having to talk about it too much to bore them with unnecessary details. The air is deep, low and relaxed with lots of energy. Wimpy air, or air that is too high up and causing a lot of tension in the shoulders and chest will not work to get the ball afloat. It is a great visual for the kids. I'm going to try it with kids for singing now too, by finding some extra trumpet mouthpieces. Wonder if this works with cornet mouthpieces or the plastic Kelly mouthpieces....
Terrific. It's really the size of the mouthpiece that makes it difficult. I have not tried it with a cornet mouthpiece or French horn mouthpiece; but I think those might be more difficult. But it's all about capacity, flow, and efficiency. AND, it's a lot of fun for young kids to play around with.
he's doing pretty as he as the right position and pitch if i could be honest I play both trombone and tuba and @mesurne he did his best
It's so good👌👌👍
YES GO MR ANDERSON
Amazing, truly incredible
keep it up you doing it great👍
Your Teespring shop seems to have disappeared. Are you still selling "Pax Trombonica" t-shirts? My multicolour-on-black one developed a hole and it would be nice to be able to replace it.
When facebook disabled my account because they thought I was a robot, my teespring sales plummeted to zero. So, I had to close up my shop. I might try to restart it someday, but right now is not the right time.
Do you still have this tuba? I just bought one that needs repair, like what your tuba needed. So rubber cement works better than heavy duty super glue for plastics?
Hi mister Anderson you don’t remember me thats fine but it’s Lawson Blake from canyon rim elementary i just wanted to say hi
Well-done and helpful review. Thanks.
Can you help me choose? This one or a Thomann Student pro tuba? It is for a marching band
Although the Cool Wind tuba is easy to carry around, I don't think it would do well in a full marching band season. Too many things can get damaged.
beautiful
I want one!! Where can I get one?? Also, how do you reach 6th and 7th positions? Wouldn't the slide just fall off before you go there?
I don't know if anyone makes them anymore. If you ask around instrument repair shops, trombone forums, places like that, you might be able to find one somewhere. Best of luck.
Nice petal notes
Ok, I know this is way too late, but I was looking on Simonetti collection for something totally unrelated and it made me think of this video. Why? Dunno. As it turns out, a lot of the old Conn Eb Tuba mouthpieces clearly feature Remington shank (~13mm @ 1:24). So if the mouthpiece is topping out at the receiver and wobbling around in the tube, that's probably what it is. And yes, Remington shank was a thing before they called it Remington shank. On the bright side, this is easy to test, and you might even be able to find some chonkers Bass Trombone mouthpiece that is suitable.
From this distance it looks more like a banded krait to me
Do you still have this instrument? I honestly gotta know
Yes.
@@EcclesiasticusRex do you happen to know where you got it? I’d love to have one of my own
This video is great! I was wanting to buy a cool wind tuba and I was trying to look for a good one.
Sounds good
can you teach me this song im a tuba player as well
I recently bought a cool wind tuba but not sure what is safe to clean the body and rotary valve keys. What do you use or recommend?
Great to hear from you. Generally, for the body, a mild dish soap and room-temperature water. Don't use rubbing alcohol or windex because those will damage the plastic as far as I understand. When I take the valves out, I just wash them in mild soap and water and then rub them dry with a paper towel. After that, coat them with valve oil and put them back in. I don't think that the valve levers ever really need to be cleaned. I will put valve or key oil on the springs and connecting part of the valve lever arms. Bets wishes. I really enjoy playing it.
Ok thank you
Dog
Finally! Someone that actually plays tube posted a video with one of these. The others sound horrible, and I couldn't tell if it was the horn or the player. Thank you! Pretty impressive for the price.
My friend in band has one and it sounds overall good
Bro I just stumbled onto one of your videos this throws me way back i use to be one of you band students at CRRE I played clarinet you where the coolest teacher ever you would always tell us something interesting when we came into class! You where the best teacher I had in 6th grade even tho your class was not as long as the others. English and history teachers both suck and played major favorites but the math teacher was great also heard the 6th grade history teacher does not work there anymore but just a rummor
'ppreciate the video dude. Feels very much to go brass or else you'll regret the cost.
B Tuba !!!!
great job!

Hi Mr Anderson this is tristan from ur music class
Incredible low note! Were you going a few steps below pedal C? I can get to pedal C but no lower than that.
I try to work down the the pedal tone with all five valves down as regularly as I have time. On my tuba, which is a C tuba, that's a pedal D-flat below pedal C. Here's a link to a video I made years ago, documenting my work down that far. It's a great breathing journey! Great to hear from you! ua-cam.com/video/EE7YHK-7s1Q/v-deo.html
I started watching your content a little after quarantine started and I’ve really been enjoying it. Thank you.
Hi
Hiii
Suicide?...
Have you replaced those valve bumpers, if so, how is it now?
@@EcclesiasticusRex thank you for the Idea, I only thought of the cork because my old trombone has a cork stopper on that valve
बहुत जहरीला सांप है भाई ये
There are two snakes in North America with this color pattern. One is harmless, the other is very dangerous. This one is a King Snake, which is harmless to people. If the color pattern was slightly different, it would be a Coral Snake which can be deadly. Thank you very much for watching.
Would you recommend this trombone?
Is the tuning slide that your left hand is holding a main tuning slide that one can pull back and forth to help tune the lower register?
The main slide is down below. I use that top slide to help tune when needed.
@@EcclesiasticusRex I see, it's pretty much similar with the piston valve tuba model--making my decision-making all the more confusing haha CoolWind has another tuba model you see where it's piston valves, and after inquiring different people about the different models, looks like both are not so different after all; which is unfortunate given both lack a surefire way to tune the notes as they get sharper down low. Thanks for the info and these insightful videos about the CoolWind Tuba. :D
Roger, how well would you say this plays? What specifically is good and bad about this horn?
This is good to exercise your mouth and the capacity of wind and blowing!.....good exercising!....
Harder to play instrument makes you better at playing, it's like doing calisthenics with a weight vest😂
That tuba sounds better than expected.
Hey mr anderson
