My favorite book when i was 5-6 at school, back in 1985, was "The Tin-Pot Foreign General and the Old Iron Woman" by Raymond Briggs. Briggs wrote it in protest against the Falklands war.. No one i know has heard of it. Briggs also wrote "The Snowman", which im sure everyone has heard of.. The book for sure made me who i am.. anti war, anti colonialism... Excellent vid KJ although I'd consider the first terrorist acts were possibly the 11th century Crusades which went on for hundreds of years. An inherent religious context but also a profit driven narrative with Muslim trade challenging Italian shipping in the Mediterranean. The word crusade used again by Bush in 2001 “this crusade, this war against terrorism, is going to take a while” A phrase immediately picked up by the far right.
