Girllll, you did the right thing by starting over and rebranding. I did something similar too, I started my UA-cam channel one year ago I didn’t know much about UA-cam like watch hours, 1k subs & co (my niche was fashion, lifestyle & beauty) first 5 months I got about 300 subscribers, on the 6th month I posted two shorts videos that went viral (with about 600k views) the videos had nothing to do with my channel’s niche and I gained about 3,900 inactive subscribers in 2 days ! I was happy at first because I thought I had surpassed 1k subscribers little did I know that getting 4000 watch hours is the actual work!!! For my long form videos, I will put out vlogs and get low engagements imagine someone with 4k subscribers getting 300-400 views on a vlog after weeks of posting, I got so demotivated but I kept posting. Though I was still posting fashion content via shorts videos but shorts videos do not help when it comes to watch hours; infact I get up to 37k views on the fashion contents I post on shorts. About 3 weeks ago I just made a decision to rebrand the channel to strictly Fashion and beauty content because I noticed people like my fashion content, Then I created this new channel for just lifestyle vlogs(intentional living) because I love to post aesthetic vlogs(I have a better understanding of how to go about putting out such vlogs now) I just feel really good for the decision I made , I don’t really care about numbers. What matters to me is quality and an engaging community.
