    explain to me why people record with a phone in the vertical position when this format does not fit any screen.

    • @AppalachianDiscovery
      @AppalachianDiscovery 2 місяці тому

      @@firebreathinggarage2117 There are many reasons why people would record in this position. TikTok support portrait positions as well as UA-cam shots and multiple other platforms. Another reason might be because there’s no time to get a perfect position while trying show the damage during a crisis.

    I’m sorry I believe the hurricane itself didn’t do all this damage. I believe opening the dams flooding the area and did all this. I think that’s what what caused more destruction talk about risk benefit like these people are they do they have to go to Harvard to have common sense or what’s what’s the deal and how come this is never happened before and since when does the hurricane go through the mountains and not the coast or tornadoes and down the coast what’s going on here? I don’t know just something that doesn’t seem right. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence is

    • @AppalachianDiscovery
      @AppalachianDiscovery 2 місяці тому

      @@2008LadyLaura I wish I had the answers however, I do not. I could agree with you that this destruction isn’t alone caused by Helene and a lot of it could be almost by design. What I know for sure is that this is catastrophic for the ones who live around here. This takeaway isn’t just from seeing those who are affected by this, but also me living here for 20 years.

    63 and rode it from Abingdon to the NC line in April '24, then back down to Damascus before the rain got to me. Stopped and walked the bike for a few hundred yards cause I just got tired of pedaling! The climb is not for the faint-of-heart, but the ride back down to Damascus is worth it. Kudos to you for the uphill ride; people going downhill looked at me like I was crazy!😅

      Wow, that’s one heck of a ride you went on. Now I have rode multiple times up and every time it is exciting. This video was my first time riding up and it was extra special (maybe the rain played a part or maybe I didn’t think I could until I did) either way you’re right, feeling the wind on the way back down is worth it.

    Nicholas, this is my second video and second comment towards your channel. The first video I was drawn in by the beauty of your area. This video was different in that you defined your channel more into the area of self improvement. Great topic! By the way, I believe you also defined your next T-shirt “Love me some nature.” I am one of those older ones you mentioned (62). You are right on with some of your thoughts. I continue to self improve everyday. I communicate with young, middle age, and retirees here in my area of Texas. I enjoy learning and I don’t discriminate because of age. I can learn from anyone. I will share with you a few thoughts: 1. You can learn from your mistakes, but you can learn from other people’s mistakes that you don’t have to experience. 2. Wisdom is the application of knowledge and I would also put the element of time associated with it. Applying knowledge at the right time. 3. Knowledge is the accumulation of facts, but it does nothing for you until you apply it. 4. Understanding is the ability to see the whole but distinguish the individual parts, and how they relate to each other. 5. Man will live his life according to his “ideas” that he has adopted. Regardless if they are true or not. These “ideas” come from your parents, relatives, friends, books, internet, etc. Whatever “ideas” you accept. Your decisions and behaviors will conform to it. It is your responsibility to make sure that you want to follow that “idea.” I wish you the best in your channel. You are a refreshing young person and you definitely meditate about life. I will be enjoying your channel. You will find your way with your creative mind. Stay positive and stay blessed.

    As an FYI there is a difference between pasteurized and pasture raised and you are using them interchangeably incorrectly

    • @AppalachianDiscovery
      @AppalachianDiscovery 2 роки тому

      I totally agree with you on the fact that there is a difference between pasteurized and pasture-raised. You’re right about that and although I understand that I never explicitly talk about or go into detail about how we pasteurized the food from our animals, I do, however, cover a ton of ground on how we pasture-raise our animals from the visuals to the audio there is a lot of information discussing that. With that being said, it does sound like I am interchangeably using the two words. Thanks for giving me a chance to clear that up and I appreciate your feedback Ann.
