How to make an affordable Tree saddle hunting platform
hello, do you still have this setup ? I want to know if you were able to turn the motor 180deg to reverse with the swivel extension ? I know the motor tiller can be flipped backward for that..but can you flip it holding the swivel extension end !
No
I bought one for my dog
Is that the unlimited?
Nuf said there was a different review that had welding cracks. I will no buy this boat. Grizzly tracker or sea ark
Very helpful. What is max mph without current? Is it hard to lift or start the motor from the seat? Does it have reverse?
You still like the boat and have you had any hull or other issues?
I’m looking at buying this same boat soon. How has it handled in the bay? Has the saltwater caused any problems?
It’s fine. It is still a rough ride compared to glass. I sold mine last year, don’t miss it. It’s too much boat for one or two people.
What was top speed? I don’t hear well.
About 8mph
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 Thx for sharing your experience. I appreciate it.
Do you have any videos of your boat in the bay ?
No, but use use it couple times a year in bay.
What prevents side to side movement?
Being so compact, it doesn’t move much, if you put all your weight on one side it will, but you really have to force it.
Hi. With no stand off or brackets, did it have any side to side movement?
I got a nucanoe also. Just found a Suzuki 2.5 found some small island's I'd like to get to
There are a lot to hunt. Between my brother and I we have killed 5 deer on the lake this year.
I just moved to the area I plan on hunting hartwell!! I have a nucanoe as well
All the pigs, squirrels, and deer you can kill.
Thanks for the video. I agree not that many videos out there on them. I’m stuck between this OT a seark 2072. Don’t know if there worth the extra money
Finally got my Suzuki 2.5, extension handle, motor bracket, boat registration etc.. Going to test it out next weekend. Are you able to start the motor, shift to neutral by hand from inside the kayak? I see some guys rig up ropes & use a thin fiberglass rod taped to the shifter to shift. Any advice will be appreciated.
underdog outdoors I used a pvc pole, with a loop on end to shift. Helps a lot.
Dont step on the fender, knucklehead
Gym Humor - you have a point.
IT’LL EAT ADVENTURES Barrs also invest in hydro turf! Its awesome
Gym Humor that’s the next step.
I have a Frontier 12 on order & should be in by mid August. I've read in some reviews that the floor flexes when you stand on it, that its thin material, do you feel this is a concern?
It’s not an issue. It is flimsy, however it doesn’t effect use.
Thanks brother!
What tiller extension and motor mount are you running or suggesting? Just got my Suzuki!!!
I forget, but I believe it’s a generic extended handle.
Thank you for the video. I just ordered a Nucanoe Frontier 12 - ordering the Suzuki 2.5, not sure if I should get 15 or 20 inch shaft. I'm leaning to the 15 inch since I'm getting it for shallow areas I can't reach with my boat, but saw a video where someone recommended a 20 inch. Any recommendations on a seat? For now, I'm planning on sitting on my cooler- see how that works before I spend another $200 on seat. Any advice would be great, thanks again.
underdog outdoors I’d go with 15 as well.
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 Thank You!
15' and you still have to bring it up or buy they bracket.. anti-ventilation plate should be two inches below transom line in the bottom.. and engine also gets to close to water as canoe lift on the bow.
Id love to see a video of this boat in action. I have been looking at 20 ft boats and fell in love with this one, but its so hard to find anything about it
ExtendedMaintenance I agree. I’ll post a video in the next week or so.
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 Fantastic! Ill be looking forward to it.
Where did your order the Suzuki motor? Thanks for the video.
Lam Nguyen bought used with 1hr.
Would you rate it with good stability? Could you stand up and run the motor? Thanks
daviszhd very good stability. Would not recommend standing and running motor, but I’m sure it’s possible with a battery up front.
It depends of your balance.. lol! I easily stand up @6 m/h, moreover a while back I climbed on my cooler a 50qts Coleman, that fits perfect, and I paddle it like if I was in a paddle board.. I'm now 45. 😁
Enjoyed the video. Considering replicating this:). Does your motor have a 15 inch or a 20 inch shaft?
Wally Ziprik 15inch. It’s a great set up
Great vid. Hope to get a Suzuki on mine someday soon👍
Gerry Shappell Thanks man, I’ll post more videos of it this spring.
I know that thing is heavy asf
huff family constrictors about a pound and a half.
No way it's a pound
It could be 2lbs, but no more that 2.5. Don’t know, don’t care.
Any way I can buy that v bracket from you that you aren't using anymore? I am doing my own version of what you did but need an extra v bracket that connects to the tree. If you don't plan to use it, please let me know.
Bob Mehaffey if I can find it I’ll be happy to shop it to you.
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 That would be awesome! Please let me know if you can find it and I will happily cover any shipping costs. This would help complete my DIY platform!
I’ll see if I can find it.
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 Awesome, thanks Dillon! Once again, happy to pay for this along with your time. Hoping to try out saddle hunting but need to finish my platform first. This would let me do so!
@@itlleatadventuresbarrs7624 Hey Dillon, just checking to see if you were able to find that bracket.
Same here thinking of taking mine apart but trying to see if I can’t find a junk one first even though I will never use my tree stand again I kinda of don’t want to take mine apart lol
