You may be interested in the Story of my ancestor, Peter Sinkler, (name spelling changed) a descendant who lived in Charleston during the American Revolution. It is said that the movie the Patriot, was inspired by his tragic ending at the hands of the British. His father and grandfather were born Sinclair, in Caithness.
Interesting,
My ancestor Black Douglas fought beside the Bruce .

Excellent historic video. Many thanx for screening this.
Very lucky to get this, one rare documentary my dad brought from Scotland in the early 90s,
My 27th Great Grandfather, The Conqueror.
I am Descendant of Ragnar, and Rollo, our last name is Prine....eventually Sinclair., this is my favorite video, because it all ties into Staffordshire England too....and the Inquisition.

They're also part of the problem in the US, with capitalism causing the problem it does !
That is correct there is a few who sailed to the new world (America) before Columbus, one strong evidence is at Roslyn Chapel in Scotland, a top Sinclair is buried there, hence why most of the chapel is covered in plants and flowers which can only be found in America but before Sinclair I do believe it was the dreaded Viking’s way way back in the 500s some historians believe this, If you look at other stuff on my channel there is a knights Templar cave which is 45 mins away from me, and Sinclair Castle stuff👍🏻 Oh and hello from a cold UK😁
Sanctus clarus was said to have a healing well in Greece from there they became st Clair in Normandy the Sinclair of Scotland unfortunate that is not discussed here
Hi there, I have also heard of this way back in the early 90s…. I will do some research 👍🏻
It’s Latin, meaning Holy Light,
Thank you do you know andrew Sinclair his knowledge is extensive he wrote several books
No I don’t know him, but I’ve read his findings, but where ever you are in the world try watching the documentary “The Curse Of Oak Island” this documentary is about to start series 11, which starts in November, it features absolutely loads of Sinclair stuff, it’s about two American Brothers seeking the lost treasures from The knights Templar, very interesting stuff they find👍🏻
@@stuartsinclair6269 yes thank you 😊I'm in Arizona my mother's mother was a Sinclair they came to America in the late 1700s my aunt did our genealogy back to the 1400s Henry Sinclair s voyage to America the micmac Indians in nova Scotia have a story about him
Are all the clans ok after the Covid turmoil?
Thank you!
Thank you
Thank you
Hello Stuart, That's so interesting about the cave I am sure we all would love seeing that cave. Ancestry DNA I am 53% England Northwestern Europe. 26% Scotland 9% Wales. 8% Ireland. 4% Sweden & Denmark. I have plenty King and Queen great great's that i have deleted the line's 4 or 5 times and they just come back in my blood line. Thank you Stuart for you for all your work on the Sinclair line. I would love to know what you find in your DNA thank you again and God bless
My great great grandmother was a Groat or written Grot or Groot and she moved to Edinburgh from Caithness her family is directly descended from John of Groat or John the Great, Jan de groot the great man who was aloud to create the ferry that sailed to the Orkneys by your family and king James if England. The Groat family's daughters were often married to the earls of Caithness the St Clair family's sons . I've only found the connection to the Saint Clair family just yesterday . I was wondering if the Groats family ever married the daughters of the st Clair family.. as I found it interesting that we had moved to Edinburgh so close to Rosslyn chapel . Thank you for your wonderful collection of videos
My father has a giant wall poster family tree with all the decents going back way back to William the Conqueror, even before him, I think the 700/800s…. This poster was a copy I think from Caithness in the early 90s, he lives in the south west, the document cost him £75, but I’m sure this document is online somewhere so you can trace back and beyond. Good luck on your quest, hopefully be putting some more stuff in my channel soon
Look at the video at 2:55-3:15 this is the family tree this is the exact copy what my father has, should be online somewhere and maybe you could print it out
Stuart Sinclair,Thank's for the history on the Sinclair's my link is through a Henry Sinclair a grandfather. Robert the Bruce was also a grandfather. I never knew the two could have very well knew each other. Robert's first daughter i think it is was one of my great grandmother's she died very young in her 20's i think. Thanks again and God bless
Interesting stuff, my dad said years ago I as in we are bloodlines of Henry Sinclair who is payed to rest in Scotland at Roslyn Chapel, I need to do a DNA Test to confirm if I have at least 50% European in me, will post results when I eventually get one👍🏻 I have recently found a cave close to me which I’ve just discovered, just 2 towns away a cave with Knights Templar drawings and Pictures, will visit in the summer and take film 🎥
Really loved your video and appreciate that you also showed the areas of other family castles even though some are no longer recognizable. Im happy the trust is restoring.❤ I do feel bad for the other family castles that are unrecognizable and wish they could be restored too as historical landmarks. Absolutely fascinating history. Thankyou❤ so much for sharing.
Thank you!
Oh. My. Thanks for this.
Wow! Fascinating!
Great video! Definitely on my bucket list…
With everyone saying they're directly related , I'm starting to doubt my dna test and family tree. My family is said to be related through the Morrison/ Boyd family. Cheers!
My advice my friend, do 2/3 dna tests if you can, these dna kits just to clarify your origin. Good luck, For me, I’m going to do one my dad did one his results came out as part Scottish, European, so I maybe the same I hope, this is the closest to the Sinclair bloodline as possible, the Sinclair name was the most powerful in Europe for centuries heavily linked to the knights Templar, very soon I will visit an underground cave which is 20miles from me, I only found this off UA-cam, this cave has hundreds of Templar inscriptions on its walls, I shall do a video soon on my channel 👍🏻
@@stuartsinclair6269 I'll do that. Thanks and good luck👍🏻
Also now it costs money if you want to trace your rootes going well back in time, I think you can reach the 1800s then have to pay money to go further back, good luck
Thanks for the clan history lesson! In the USA, most of us know very little of our Sinclair roots.
Are you a Sinclair????
@@stuartsinclair6269 Yes! My father’s family came from Scotland to Alabama, then spread out across the South. My closest relatives are mostly in Louisiana and Texas now.
hey my ancestor is also William Sinclair. some by the name myrtle viola Sinclair was my grandpas mother and I do believe she might be alive still but ye :) been trying to get in contact with my people cause boy I got a huge story for you and how this system doesn't care about Metis and aboriginal kids. I've lived in care my whole life in and out of group homes and I am very adamant that I can be of huge help to our kind :)
When our Chief speaks, E.F. Hutton listens.
Our chief is great and this is very educational about our clan, which is still strong today👍🏻
Recently discovered an ancestral connection, so I’m fascinated by all this. Thank you for uploading it.
Aye !! My ancestors,
Just remember there are Sinclair's everywhere 😀
@@stuartsinclair6269 Totally agree we are everywhere. Thank you Stuart it's interesting learning about our family history.
It was meant as a slightly cynical comment . Stuart, do you know the river Ribble by the way ? Regards.
@@PaulStClair-hq7fw Yes, it's up north somewhere I think,

This is awesome to Know about my Scottish history and my Ancestors
So happy to find these videos...I am a descendant of this family and knew of their Viking origins but this gives details I did not know....Thank You
Diana Rice Your welcome. I’ve got a few more shows about the Sinclair family to put on here, will put something new on here early next year👍
I knew that the Sinclair lineage was originally from Rollo but this video includes so much more information.
This info was from the 90s, there must be more out there which means history has changed, the Sinclair's got to America first 1398 not 1492, hence why a lot of history and proof is at the famous Roslyn's Chapel in Scotland. There are 6 vaults there only one has been seen.
Disappointed. J.Trx
