I saw this when I was 6 or 7, years later I read 2 books by Jim Corbett, Maneaters of the Kumaon and Maneating Leopads of the Rudraprayag, which were stimulating stories of J.Corbetts endeavours as the Indian Governments tiger hunter. I also read that this movie is based partly on his life. They define the countryside as it was in those days and made an all round good movie.

The lady that was attacked at the beginning of the movie believed what she was told by the wildlife people. That Tiger attacks are Rare and Fatal attacks are even more Rare.

There was a time when movies were a wonderful place to visit and get away.

Hundreds of humans, with guns and elephants conspire to kill a single poor tiger!

What a wonderful movie! The title is so misleading, I nearly passed it by, but, I'm soo thankful I watched it! A true treasure from a time now long gone and never to be seen again, as are so many things from years gone by. I'm so thankful that the people and customs, the scenery and the very spirit of the time period have been recorded in movies such as this. Thank you so very, very much for sharing this with us!
