Dear Dr. Ron Wallace, Some times scholars have their own channel on youtube with their speeches, debates and T.V interviews. Is this reliable?
I would be very cautious considering information from speeches, debates, and interviews as scholarly in nature. Those outlets open up the potential for personal opinion, which in turn can be biased in nature.

thank you for posting. I have a quick question. why do case studies have research questions but not hypothesis?
+Lydia Lewis Quite often case studies are nothing more than a review of previous research. The researcher may be looking to confirm a previous hypothesis or something similar. As a result only a research question would be required. In other situations the case study is a qualitative methodology in which case a hypothesis is not always needed, just a research question.

+mimi mimi Actually it is the other way around. The IV is the cause and the DV is the result. We manipulate the IV and then watch the DV to see whether we observe a change or not.

+Dhra Joshi The purpose of creating a hypothesis is to predict the outcome of the study. Researchers will often begin a study with an idea or premise that they want to test to determine whether it is actually valid. The hypothesis is the method use to state that idea or premise, then the study proves the hypothesis (idea or premise) to be true or false.
