@@lizw8663 Hi Liz, great Q. Answer is …. it depends. Allow me to amplify for you. Deluxe studios are in the original DVC Villas building which has a covered walkway to the main GF building containing the monorail stop, retail stores, lots of great restaurants and the beautiful lobby. The building with resort studios has no covered walkway so if it’s raining or hot Florida humid sunshine 🌞, well you know. The other major difference is that the resort studios have two small beds whereas the deluxe studios have a queen bed as you saw. Sleeping arrangements can thus impact your decision. Lastly, I understand that the walls at the resort studios have been reported as paper thin. Do be aware, that for more DVC points you can have a resort studio with a theme park view. Hi 👋 Leslie. I agree with your thoughts re influx of non-resort guests at Poly re the new Tower. I know we plan to visit when we are staying at GF before Christmas. I also think it won’t last forever and the wave of non-guests visiting Poly re the new Tower will fade in time when the next new DVC building appears. Thanks for your kind comments re our videos. ☺️

Hi Lauura…..you are very kind……so glad you found our Disney related videos helpful! 😊 When you purchase DCL shuttle you can indicate you want it only one way from Port Canaveral to the specific WDW where you will be staying so there’s no issues at all! Hope you all have a great cruise … I’m sure you will …. it’s Disney after all! Nancy and I are booked to go again early next year and can’t wait!

@@NanDanTravel I'm sure it will. Many people prioritize the criteria you chose. BLT is possibly the most desired, although probably not the most beloved, DVC resort. People do not even notice its relentless blandness because of its unbeatable location. Some of these same people will complain about Riviera and Island Tower and say they're plain and unthemed!

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. The resort is quite lovely. It is located in Bonnett Creek which is right next to Walt Disney World. There is private bus transportation is available from the resort to the WDW theme parks which I used twice during my stay.

Hi 👋 nycp! A few thoughts here. We’ve stayed in a few different areas so just went to the closest pool and enjoyed ourselves. Yet …. you knew there was a ‘yet’ from me, right 😉 …. the paddock pool seemed to be full of kids because of the great kids area there. The Grandstand area has a kids area but not to the extent as that as the Paddockarea pool …. but if your staying in the Grandstand area with kids you’re not going to take your kids and walk all the way to the Paddock pool. The Congress Park pool is really nice … there’s a kids play area there but it’s right next to the pool not a water play area. Yet there’s (I don’t think) a bar / fast food facility at the Congress Park pool … and it’s one of the preferred’ areas of SSR so it costs more points to stay there. What we do now is ask to stay in the Grandstand area but go to the High Rocks Spring pool. A tad more adult pool, large shaded area for us to ‘camp’ in and we can pick up dinner at The Artist’s Palette on our way back to our unit in the Grandstand area. Lastly, I prefer staying in the Grandstand area also because we can use the Grandstand Disney bus stop which is the first stop into SSR. I have had to wait during busy times (eg, in the early morning to rope drop) as more than one bus was full from already picking up SSR guests from all the other bus stops in SSR. Won’t go that again. Well worth taking the Disney bus ride through the rest of SSR by using the Grandstand bus stop to not be stood up if that makes sense. If you haven’t already you can see what the 1 bedroom SSR unit looks like in our SSR Playlist … it’s the video with “Disney, I’m Sorry” in the thumbnail!

@@NanDanTravel Yes, I did see your other SSR video. A lot of people are giving SSR a second look since the refurb. I think I'll most likely use my car for transportation when I'm at SSR. I'm a bit wary of the confusing bus situation at this resort.

If you have any concerns you can speak to them right at the Aqua Mouse before you get in line for the ride about your specific concerns. If you go on a non-WISH DCL ship it’s a lot less expensive…. we’re going on the Fantasy next winter that will go to both private islands. 1 more night, a second private island for about $1,000 less in total than our WISH 4 night cruise last year. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi 👋 NYCP Don’t disagree re GF crowds at times. Re Peter Pan, etc. here’s what Disney says regarding the theming: “Disney’s Riviera Resort is designed to capture the magic of Europe that Walt Disney fell in love with once upon a time. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed home by a palm tree-lined boulevard and the striking façade of this Resort hotel. From the grand archways and porticos to the tower and terraces, Disney’s Riviera Resort is a modern masterpiece of imagination, with each detail drawing upon the influences of Europe and the Mediterranean.” Peter Pan being UK and thus Europe but to me definitely not Mediterranean 🙂 Cinderella is continental Europe based I believe so I get that …. so’s Remy but IMO other than food not overly ‘elegant’ …. Sleeping Beauty in Bavaria, Hercules in Greece are I think 🤔 some other European / Mediterranean based which could be used as part of Elegant theming

@@NanDanTravel Yes, I've seen this promotional material, but it doesn't really address my question. I don't think any Disney film is set in the Mediterranean other than Hercules--not French or Italian, but good catch!--so any French or Italian film would be the closest match, but Pinocchio is so Alpine in its setting it seems more Austrian than Italian. I think you're right that Remy's Ratatouille would not be in keeping with Riviera's luxury quotient, but Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, both historically linked to French folklore, would be a good fit. All in all, I'm glad The Aristocats is the most obvious source film for the resort. It gives Riv a very cool vibe and a more relaxed glamour than, say, GF.

BTW I'll be at Riviera in a week. I'm doing a short stay in a standard deluxe studio.

@@SheSailsAway I understand about budgets!! Take a peak on a nice day when you need some adult down time at Geyser Point’s Lunch & Dinner menu. Just a few $$ more yet just as / more yummy and that view of the water with the Disney boats passing by is so tranquil. Or after lunch at Roaring Forks if you have the time on a nice day consider taking a stroll out there …. (in case you haven’t been at that part of WL) there are numerous nice comfy cushioned chairs just outside Geyser Point that one can sit and relax. Thanks for letting us know your go-to at WL …. We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner last year when Nancy and I were staying there a few nights.

I like free stuff, and those covered cabana-like covered seating areas at the DVC or leisure pool are pure heaven …. especially since we don’t like to be out in the sun all day in the hot summer temps of Central Florida

For is seniors, it also takes a village (couldn’t resist). I’ll be curious on your take on this Saturday’s review for seniors on staying at Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge.

Agree that it’s the most NYC vibe resort … interesting thought about a seat to get to MK ….. yet I’ve taken the monorail at that stop several times and I don’t always get a seat …. you must be living right 😇😀

Hi Pamela, that is just like us! We still have our annual passes and go for either rope drop or dinner and night fireworks show, spending more time enjoying the amenities at whichever resort we are staying
