Tough approach into Boeing Field, Seattle!
Wind shear of +/-20 knots. Maybe the toughest approach/landing of my aviation career. The video was taken by a passenger and started after the worst of the wind we were experiencing on final.

This is one of my favorite videos! I wave my flag at these guys all the time when they fly over me here in S. Tulsa. I think Lt. Col. Volpe must’ve been the main instigator because the frequency of them flying over dropped off after he retired, but they still swing by now and then. And if I’m home, I run out and wave at them!

Damn how'd you get clearance to fly so close to at&t stadium? I'm assuming dallas-fort worth is class b airspace
The controllers were very friendly and gave us room to do some sightseeing!
Awesome video and locations! I see that you're flying a Vance tail yet I see Sedona (?) at 1:17 and Pike's Peak at 3:48. I'm classing up at CBM next spring, wish we got to fly over these awesome places, all we got in Mississippi are flat swamps and LOTS of weather.
Thanks Erik! Yeah as an instructor I got the opportunity often to fly over some pretty cool locations. As a student, unfortunately you will be flying around the flagpole a lot as you only get one XC during the syllabus. But you'll still have a blast. And probably be quite good at instruments when its all said and done by the sounds of it! Good luck!
Hey Man, I head down to Columbus in a couple of months for training. Anything you recommend reading up on right now during the long wait? I'm half way through the Dash-1. Also great vid! Only UA-cam vid with a good song going w it!
Congrats! You will have a blast! I’d recommend memorizing your Boldface and Operating limits before hand. Also glancing over the Dash 1 doesn’t hurt and you will be more familiar with the systems when ground school starts. Good luck!

Are there any major differences in how USAF and Navy train in the T-6?
evry1sfriend619 The biggest difference would be centered around the approach to training. The Navy training is much more laid back. They don’t coddle you, you are expected to show up to flights ready to go but the preparation is all on you. In the Air Force you will be in the flight room all day, 12hrs and there is more intensity/direction in the instruction. Different methods, both have produced good pilots. I did all my training as a student with the Navy, but was an instructor in the Air Force.
